We have an LCI 320D whcih honestly is enough as have an STi RA for fun. I had yo have the adaptive dampers and M Sport steering wheel so sacrificed things like heated seats, pro nav, and sun roof to get them in a car with the right history (literally one lady owner, an oxford professor no less) and mileage. Dont regret that decision but am unimpresssed with the LED lights. The bi-xenons you have arr much, much better, particularly on low beam and do wish we had those. All round though do love the car and will keep it for a while.

This car deserves every possible renovation, restoration and improvement. İndeed, it worth of doing m3 upgrades in the engine and drivetrain etc. Whatever money you spend on it may feel like unnecessary or too much right now. However, maximum 10 years from now on, all these cars will be classic or retro classic and will worth massive amount of money. Especially, naturally aspirated coupes and Cabrio cars, hot hatch cars from. 80's, 90's, 2000's. All Subarus with no cvt trans, hondas witout cvt, Nissan 350Z and 370z, probably all hem cars made before G series, Mercedes w210, w211 and similar, all mini coopers made before 2016, 2015 or before, VW new beetle and more. Especially, E30, E36, E46 and 5,6 etc other bmw series cars made in that period. Currently driven EV's and EV's will be sold during the next 10 years probably gonna run people crazy and most of them gonna end up in junkyards. Later on, there may be some proper electric cars or may be hydrogen or some sort of eazy to make senthetic fuel vehicles.

I bought a 325ci as a stop gap. Still got it 4 years and £££££ later. It's slow and still not perfect but I love it.

Hi, I've just got a 2018 330d M sport . Black with those 19" wheels. Heated seats and steering wheel!! One thing for your car, much more than a remamp, is the BMW adaptive suspension. I would say that's what you're missing.

I’m sorry but the car is just a bad example high mileage but still fairly minor issues. I’ve owned 6 of them and never had issues just the typical items such a rocker cover gaskets, intake boot cracking and PCV system. Currently own a 2003 factory Alpine White 330Ci Sport Coupe manual with 60k miles, just taking of preventative maintenance items as cars have aged plastic components and old fluids

I've got a 330ci bought it for 4k at 110k done a manual conversion bushes vanos oil filter housing rocker cover gasket you name it the whole cooling systems even change the viscus fan to the ellectric fan so much money but the drives are amazing even the pullys all changed. The reason you only suppose to charge to 80% is not to save or preserve the battery life but to maximise the charging efficiency. The reason is because to get that last 20% would take as much energy as it did to get from 0% to 80% because as the battery fills up (for a lake of a better term) the ions have to sort of giggle around to find space. (again to simplify things) its like it take more pressure to continue the flow of irons into the battery. Its one of the reasons why Batteries are not very efficient for this sort of application.

I’m not dying on the fake exhaust hill but they’ve gone to the trouble of making it look like quad exhausts I don’t understand why they just don’t make them real 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t think the sport back form factor works as well as it does on the Q3/RSQ3 and I’d prefer the standard one, District Green is nice on the but I’d definitely go black pack and lastly I think the wheel spec from a aesthetic point of view is a bit anaemic so I’d spec a different wheel.

nice review and i will always have a soft sot for the GTi but i will say that premium and sporty are not exclusive! I used to have a mk8 CS and did find it a bit plasticky compared with the 7.5. Wonder of you found the same

It's not much of an upgrade over the mk8 clubsport . From 2022 onwards the mk8 was fine. I have one and love it. The 8.5 steering wheel buttons are old fashioned and don't match the high gloss dashboard. Gloss black on lower front bumper is nice but stone chips will be hard to mask unless it's covered with expensive expel . The Mk 8 touch screen is nice and not over distracting when driving compared to the cinema screen in the 8.5

The only major issue I have with my Mk8 CS is the miniaturized shift paddles, and they haven't changed them.

Bought ours in 2021 up for 37.999, with discount working for vw and car chopped in the total was £27k keep the 8.5, get a mk8 make sure the steering wheel has been changed under warranty and get it mapped Still worth 23k/24k cash trade in 4 years on No brainer

The main reason I’ll be buying this is the steering wheel physical buttons and the larger screen. So I love the screen.

I feel your pain! I bought a 320i touring (150,000 miles) 18 months ago (off our plumber) for just under £2000. 18 months and 11,000 miles later I’ve spent over £3500 on it. Mainly gaskets and sensors. It drives beautifully now and I really like the car, but it would have been nice to spend a bit less on it ha ha!

I'll stick with my Clubsport 45 DCC and 19s. I love the no buttons on the wheel, easy to clean and use. Don't like the front of the 8.5, changed for no reason other than to make it different. The screen is too big. No issues with touch controls with no illumination, it's only volume and heat controls which are easy to use at night and less of a distraction. De-mist, rear window etc. are all illuminated. The screen on my Clubsport 45 can be slow occasionally but usually only when starting up sometimes and is a better size. I find with all touch screens that if my hands are dry (I'm a builder) they don't work very well. I just lick my finger to dampen it and it works fine 😂😂. I have to do the same with my phone and washing machine sometimes😂😂. End of the day its each to their own.

I love these Alloys, bit a throwback to its roots. Id happily spec them.
