I agree with Claire that The Machine has a deeper understanding of people than Samaritan. The Machine must be very inventive in order to fulfill its purpose, influencing the world through the small bottleneck of a payphone and one volunteer agent (I don’t think that The Machine just gives orders to Root, it rather gives probabilistic scenarios, but Root makes the decisions). Samaritan is more like a spoiled rich kid (who, with Greer's easy encouragement, must invent the meaning of life). He has much more options at his disposal and doesn’t really need to delve deeply into people’s nuances. Why spend huge valuable computing resources on repurposing one person heart-to-heart conversations who revealed your existence, when you can just kill him and replace? Also, the quality of his soldiers leaves much to be desired. :)

Used to watch this with my daughter. She grew out of it but I remember being intrigued by the lore it develops later on and always wanted to go back and finish. Guess Ill go with you guys

As for the request, I would absolutely love to watch you two react to the first episode of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. It is an amazing show that has the guy who played Frodo as the main character. I very much have the same sense of humor as you guys and i loved it. If if you enjoy philosophical comedies with a bit of oddity, The Good Place is also really good.

It starts as a kids show and slowly progresses into an adult show about philosophy, friendship, death, and the changes that come with life and loss and growth.

Each season of this show gets better. I especially appreciate that Finn has much less voice cracking scream yelling dialog as they progress :p

I was hoping we'd see the Enchanted Forest when they introduced that goblin in the second episode.

The director of this episode actually is one of the originals. She played the familiar, Jackie, in the movie. The next episode is one of my favourites. I hope you two enjoy it as much as I do.

POI is in my top 3 tv shows. My only problem with the show is they made people think a leg show is not lethal. Wish root and Shaw had more time I shipped them hard.

I loved this episode also. Fans were very sad to see Carter gone, so this felt a lot like a real way to say goodbye. Also, contextually, fans at this time did not know if there would BE a season 5, it hadn't been announced if there would be one and how long. So, again it felt like we were having a chance to say goodbye to a main character.

It's a good thing the bad guys always tie Reese up and talk to him for a while before getting around to killing him. Otherwise his role in the series would have ended early. Multiple times.
