Oh also Mike liking Pimento is a reference to Breaking Bad where him and Jesse did a stake out and Mike says that he packed a Pimento. Mark Prosch is so good in this show, teaming him up with Mike made for really funny scenes. Nacho was missing from the show for awhile because they decided to slow down on Jimmy becoming Saul, which left Nacho with nothing to do, till they decided to have him and Mike intersect
Ah yes I remember that episode. We were so shocked to see him but he was so good in this! Oh that's really interesting, look forward to seeing more Nacho in the future though.
So initially, Chucks heel turn was not part of the plan for the series. Chucks role was just to be the moral brother who Jimmy has to support through his illness, but Gilligan and Gould noticed that Michael McKean was playing Chuck with a certain amount of pride and ego, which eventually evolved into the idea that he was actually resentful of Jimmy. And while we know Jimmy becomes Saul, Chucks words become a sort of self fulfilling prophecy. He worried that Jimmy would abuse his law degree criminally, and yet by snubbing him like this, he’s sent his brother directly on that path (of course Jimmy is responsible for his own decisions as well). What I love about this season is that it really is an uphill struggle for Jimmy. The show takes its time developing him into Saul. Within 7 episodes, Walt was already killing people. They took a much slower burn with Jimmy, and I think it makes him a much more compelling character that you can actually reasonably root for
Yea I could definitely sense it when seeing him in the past as him. Damn that's really cool the change, honestly didn't see the full turn coming that bad until we got there really. Yea that's crazy, just really didn't help anything at all. I really do want to root for him so much, everything just seems so against him.
I couldnt disagree more with your assessment that Jimmy slowly turns into Saul. Maybe by name, but Jimmy was born Saul. He has always been this way, and always will be! IMO, the line "Jimmy with a law degree is like a chimp with a machine gun" is not only one of the best lines in the BB universe, but arguably the most ACCURATE. Even before Chuck told Howard not to hire him, Jimmy had already tried pulling a scam on the Kettlemans (Chuck didn't even know about it either) and did the fake hero shenanigans. The decision by Chuck to keep Jimmy from working at HHM was mostly professional. There is some resentment there, but Chuck knows that Jimmy would eventually do something illegal and immoral that would end up ruining the firm's reputation and possibly even cause it's demise. P.S. Some might argue that Walt was always a bad person, but I would disagree. IMO, Walt did not begin his downward spiral until he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was always willing to morally eek out a living and support his family the best he could through honest & hard work. Once he realized he would not only leave his family in financial ruins, but would not be there to help scratch and claw their way out of it. This is why I think Walt was not born a bad guy, but became one. His Achilles heel was his pride, and it is that way for most men TBF. NGL, I believe my own ego is the reason I ruined a few relationships & jobs with great potential. They will always be some of my biggest regrets.
this comment is really jumping the gun in a lot of ways, there's a lot more room for interpretation here about their dynamic, and you get more context about chuck's attitude as the show goes on. it's so early in the show so im not gonna go into detail, but all i'll say is it's easy to hate chuck - but if jimmy acted in some ways because of chuck, it goes the other way around too. chuck's bitterness doesn't come out of nowhere
You are very pleasant to watch and your reaction is authentic. This series is phenomenal please watch them all.
Given Mark Proksch's performance, I would totally believe this is a random crossover with What We Do in the Shadows.

36:23 Beware an old men in a job where men die young
Damm, that’s a good line!
Chuck is right

@pencil6965 I couldn't agree more👍👍👍
Look at these two liars... they aren't tony and claire. They neither have nametags nor passports to prove it.
