Two people whose names start with A - focused on bringing you content based on bikes. One rides, one shoots, but it is the relationship that we think is interesting. Our goal is to put out 12 videos this year while at the races, but focused on athlete/sponsor/photographer relations and how the job gets done for a professional bike racer and photographer in the US.

Phase II | Ep. 4 | The Last Chance
Episode 4: The finale is here as we arrive in Bentonville, AR for the final race of the Lifetime Grand Prix season as well as Phase II. Here at Big Sugar, the year of learning and growing comes to a close as we push the riders to their limit to see what they are made of. Did they might their goals? 50 miles is all they have left to get there.

As a reminder, Phase II is about giving two young athletes the opportunity to compete in three of the Life Time Grand Prix events with pro-level equipment, mechanic support, and mentorship. The mission is to create a successful and sustainable pathway from high school leagues to a potential professional cycling career that can be copied and used by other athletes/companies as the development pathways grow. There is a large gap between high school racing and the biggest races in the U.S., making it very tough to jump into the Life Time Grand Prix as an 18 year old, Phase II provides the stepping stone needed for a young athlete dreaming of a career as a bike racer.

this is so cool! you guys rock, I love it
Great series guys 👌
@alexeyandavery and all the sponsors, trust me this makes a huge difference for these athletes on the bike, but especially in life. I’m thrilled to see this program for Julia and Neruda, because when I was their age I had to learn it all on my own which was hard to do in the 1980s. This is exactly what American cycling needs. Way to go!!!
I've coached world class racers and seen them take wrong turns (blew up their position) Leadvile, Brec Epic, Gravel Worlds, etc_they are so talented yet not in the operational art, my solution was for me to pre-ride and look for wrong turn traps and make sure they "Trust" their judgement and or fix the marking of the course. Seen it lots of times. Great series, great Photography. Biggest takeaway AV "you picked good people" for this. Hat tip. Avery knows how to capture the emotion with the lens and light. Another Hat tip.
I would say, coaching these two makes AV a better racer i.e. sees what he's teaching apply to yourself, soak it. Appears that both of these two young racers already have the after race interview down pat. " On to Cincinatti" Bill Belichick.
I noticed the quote by AV: "left unbound knowing what you lack" onto to the next race, put it behind prepare for the next challenge - training & fun while you're at it.
Good work fellas. 👊
Take a shot every time Alexey says “Tushar in the Crusher” 😂
Sick series 🤙
Crazy development for the young guns! 🔥🔥🔥
How would one end up in phase II?
So rad that yall are doing this! Will it happen in 2025 as well?
Thanks Alexi, this is an awesome series and programme, I hope other teams & sponsors can do this for young riders.
How was it so poorly marked? I get following your GPS, but why arrows pointing the wrong way?
Awsome videos great job guys! It gave me a new look on how I should be training. Maybe I’ll beat Alexey at Iceman next year lol.
We hope Neruda and Julia can make it out to Crusher in 2025! It's a must do gravel event.
Why have gps and dl courses if youre not going to use it?
All in all…. Great job kids! Learn and keep rolling forward!🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸
Bike check? What Shimano group set is that? 2x12 di2 or new unreleased 1x13???
They were both on the Shimano GRX RX820 1x12 Mechanical setup.
@competitivecyclist interesting…but surprised to see mechanical on a MOG with in-route stem cable routing. I know it’s doable, but probably not ideal. Shimano needs to up their wireless gravel game… Thank-you for replying!!
Leave mechanical shimano stuff alone. It works incredibly well and is dependable. If you want electronic go sram
The group set help up perfectly throughout the whole season no problems!! The mechanical was nice because we never had to worry about a battery dying.
@@paulwojcik1920 you missed my point. I personally prefer mechanical Shimano over anything wireless. But the Enve MOG poses many tight cable bends with internal routing through the stem/headset. Not to mention difficulty feeding the cables through the limited space within the stem. Good to know shifting was not compromised as I’ve heard otherwise.
Wow! Alexey and Avery, well done for spearheading this project... it is so cool to see young aspiring riders get the kind of support which will allow them to strive for their fullest potential. I hope the best for Phase II, and and that with continuing support, perhaps it could develop into a full on Junior Development Team for aspiring racers.
What does privateer racing mean? Is that someone who's not on a professional team?
This is too cool guys, hope too see everyone out racing!
Please keep Allen away from Julia - well she might be too old for him anyways at 20?
wtf?
@@gregpoisson6797 Allen Lim, owner of skratch. Do a quick google of him and Moriah - dude LOVES young girls.
Nice job Alexey. Inspiring the next big thing is an unselfish act. Great job!
I was there! Meredith and I were in that group taking the wrong turn. Definitely a tough spot on the day.
I'd like to try the 100 mile.
Can totally relate to Neruda. Had the same kind of situation with a mismarked turn on a race, and it sucks! Now I always double check the route and memorize key turns where courses may overlap. I’ve learned never rely on a marker… know your course 😂
It can be the worst!
I think we've all made a wrong turn a few times in a TT, gravel, road, or fondo type race/event. But I have never gotten lost in a crit or 'cross race 😎.
100% feel for those like Neruda that followed the arrows and went right. Raced the 50 mile Big Sugar route too this year but I followed my Garmin telling me to go left however 3 guys I was in a group with went right. So frustrating to have a race impacted by that. Great job to the whole Phase II. Great video content.
Love seeing my local hill climb getting some love. NOD for the win.
Love the segment on lactate testing!
Quite interesting, right?
Love it!
Thanks, Jordan!
Alexey & Avery, is there a way for individuals to support this project?
Not really right now, but I will let you know if we can set it up for 2025 season!
@@alexeyandavery please do! I hope to see *both* of you at Unbound in 2025.
ayyyy neruda
Christmas is coming early! Can’t wait to binge the series tomorrow.
Awesome!
Legit. I just got a mog built for me and it is sick
Such a well build bike!

What is Dan’s sauna choice…looks choice!
I have been told it is a 'Sisu sauna'
Boom! Nice vid bro, on to 2025! 🤘🏽
Dude I have the same pre-race meal. Rice, eggs, peanut butter, soy sauce. Must be the Allen Lim effect 🥹
hahaha Asian Persuasion
A nice cool morning.
LOVE watching your guys’s channel!! As always.. it was a joy following your grand prix journey this season Alexy! See ya again next year at Chequamegon 😊. Gotta ask.. why do you choose rice & eggs for your pre race meal??
Thanks and can't wait! Rice and Eggs has always just been an easy meal for me to get down early in the morning! As long as you have a simple carb and some fat and protein you will be good!
Shoutout to CT @4:04
Glad to see Avery out there crushin it!!!
Iceman is such a blast. It’s a weekend of smiles and laughs and sore legs! Come hang out in wave 19 with me sometime!
Can't wait! - Alexey
Really glad i found 3T kinda on accident, and im excited to get my Rival Gravel bike hopefully next week! The deals they are having are amazing! more than 50% off atm
Stoked to hear it!
Awesome video gentlemen. Iceman is awesome. TC thanks you for coming!
Thanks, Brent! Nice ride yourself!
Avery's recap was riveting!
Right?! He needs to recap our weekends more! - Alexey
Love the new 360 mount on the bike! Ice Man 2024 was epic and totally lived up to the hype. Thanks for the invite guys, we’ll be back! Next time we need to move the sauna to the start line to thaw out Avery’s bottles 😂
YAS! Thanks for making this weekend FLOW
I did it last year after having been run over by a car. On January 31st, a Chevy Cruz ran completely over me. 4 surgeries, much titanium, and 7 months off the bike, (back on the bike September 15th), I finished. This year, couldn’t make it. I work for elections here in Georgia, and couldn’t get away. Next year.
Woah! That is impressive! Thanks for working the elections and see you in 2025!
nice!
