The Iconoclast an Anti Philosophy with Author Samuel Barnes
The Iconoclast an Anti-Philosophy is one of those books that will leave you feeling joyful. It is like jumping into a sea full of sharks and everyone is watching from the shore, worried about you, but you've made friends with the sharks and they're ready to swim you back to land, wherever that is.

Try Sarra Cannon's channel called Heart Breathings. Also, Barbara Vance is excellent too. She has a UA-cam channel and many in-depth courses, mainly on character development. I LOVE Sarra's books. The Shadow Demons Saga is fantastic and I'm waiting with bated breath for Book 12, the final book in the series. She also has other great books with witches and magic and even zombies.

Very good analysis, Sam! I am reading Kafka's books - until right now: "the trial", "metamorphosis" and this short story - to improve my english, and I feel that I fell into a rabbit hole of symbolism... There's a lot of different perspectives in the stories

I wake up every morning and I'm thankful to be alive. I start checking (at my age it's a necessity) for what hurts. Usually, my hands are numb and my back is sore. I eat breakfast and start to feel better. Then I move the semi into traffic and the day quickly goes to sh#t. I finish the day wondering if I'll wake up. Hook up the CPAP machine and it's bedsie bye. Lather/rinse/repeat.🥴

How do you understand the Uberman? In your reading, you said "Superman," a term used to reject and mock Nietzsche. For Nietzche, the Uberman was someone strong. Someone, that took what they wanted and did not ask for permission. He defined the Uberman as someone who overcomes everything in their life. This might help you understand Nietzsche better.

This is a strong retribution some misunderstandings of Nietzshe. Women shouldn't be offended if the feminine is irrational. Nietzsche himself was an irrationalist! Women is the metaphysical animal, solely able to carry life into the future. Allowing humanity to exist metaphysically.

Through the process of discovery, masculine (logic) is routinely redefined, altered to accommodate evolution and painstakingly revised to adapt to the ever changing environment while the feminine (illogical or emotional) stands stoic and strong, confident and sure of something deeper and more profound which ends in edification and eventual validation....Save Poppy!😇

Outstanding Sam, and I love how you connected “Give It Up” with “A Little Fable” to bring out the limits of logic and why we should embrace those limits. The idea that the cat frees the mouse in eating the mouse up, as the cat must in being a force of irrationality, was brilliant, and I love the story of “the chance encounter with a friend” at the end. Really brilliant Sam!

I really appreciate this response. Schopenhauer was clearly a formidable intellect -- but his writings on this subject reveal profound shortsightedness -- as you say. Like others, I really like your rubber-band and water metaphors to describe women’s strength and adaptability. And I think it speaks perfectly to the essay’s central error. Indeed he ranks women against his yardstick of male maturity -- as though that were the gold standard for human development. But that’s absurd -- Like somebody claiming Mother Terresa was inferior because she couldn’t bench press as much as Schwarzenegger.. That Schopenhauer fails to recognize the strength and genius of women, is perhaps only a reflection of an underdeveloped feminine side -- maybe due to strained relationships as others have suggested.. Supposedly, his views changed by the end of his life, and certainly Nietzsche carried the torch further on this subject.. Anyway, I appreciate your insights!

It will appear to be shortsightedness to those who are naive, easily manipulated and don’t live in reality. The truth is a hard pill to swallow for many

I see another story, here. About a man who has let life pass him by and is now facing the reality of old age knocking on his door. He's out in the world, discovered that more time has flown by and he's late on all that life holds. He chases down an officer who somehow realizes this and gives him the only option available...or something like that.🤔🥴... I miss your singing.😭

  • @worldaround6520

The moral of the story is - intentions are not enough, wisdom is needed too, to help others, help yourself first, take care of your needs, our darkest needs and love yourself, right? I have something similar - Man. Is a social animal and we learn to be socialise by socialising with our family, so make sure you have excellent relations with your family.

This was wonderful, and I love that distinction between “thinking philosophy” and “experiencing philosophy”-that’s beautifully put. “Experiencing difficult questions” is important, and I love that image of philosophy as a net with a hole in it. I also really like the idea of moving from “doubt” to “becoming nothing” in philosophy, which made me think of Thomas Winn and his work. Life has a lot to do with learning to see, I think. Anyway, great to see you Sam!

Uuhm no, writing a good book has subjective and objective elements. Subjective is wether you like or dislike the subject and or genre. Objective is the technical details. Does the author have these? Does the author know how to structure a story (like the hero's journey) or is the book meandering leading to everywhere and nowhere, confusing the sh* out of everybody. Is there a good balance between description, dialogue, action, etc. Are the paragraphs roughly a size that's appropriate for the chapter and story, does the story make sense, are people actually reacting/having emotions that are realistic given the story's circumstances etc. etc. The problem with these author tubers is that the vast majority were editors at some firm and know maybe some of the technical details, but being a writer is something different entirely. Coming up with an engaging story and being able to structure it properly, taking into account not just your own enthusiasm, but also the reader's experience is something different then going with a red marker through someone else's story.

Says it all really. Not to discount everything he said, but do we seriously think a sexually frustrated man with a bad relationship to his mother would express anything less than loathing for the opposite sex? It's like those feminists that say "all men are trash". These extreme statements are mostly born of personal experience rather than objective observation. But alas, that's only human...
