A 170 years ago, a man awoke one morning and stepped outside his house. He saw a hawk take off from his perch and soar into the distance. The man began to walk and did not stop. He left his farm, his wife, his children and all that he was. Some years later, one of his grown children stumbled upon him. He was an old man, frail, penniless, ill, with only the clothes on his back and barely able to live off the land. Angry, the grown child asked. "How could you leave us? We needed you. How could you leave mother to care for us, alone? It broke her back, her will, her spirit. It ended her life early." To which the now old man replied. "Well...the hawk kept flying."🤔
