Most of my videos will be centered around:
~ Fude. I have very sensitive skin and love artisan makeup brushes for applying my (mostly) powder makeup collection. I'm still figuring out which shapes/sizes/bristles work for me.
~ Makeup! I have started using makeup in the last few years, but I feel like I'm still learning. I enjoy sharing my thoughts and discoveries with you. I'm very picky about makeup and strongly prefer products that don't create or enhance skin texture. I am absolutely not a makeup artist, and I never will be, so I like my products to do most of the work for me :D
~ Skincare for oily, dehydrated, sensitive skin.
~ Haircare for wavy hair (and problematic skin).
I hope that my videos are helpful to you!

Finding a Concealer for Very Cool-Toned, Olive, Oily Skin
This video is so helpful. I recently discovered that I am missing some of my original goat WG brushes and have been trying to figure out what to replace them with. Do you feel like the quality of these brushes matches the quality of his past releases? How do they compare quality wise to Sonia G's brushes? Thanks again for such an excellent overview!
Thank you so much 🥰 I'm happy this video was helpful! I actually do not have any of Wayne's older goat hair eye brushes. I only have three 00/holiday brushes, the dyed goat hair liner brush, and then some of his old squirrel brushes (airbrush, 02, 03, 04). These are difficult to compare since they are pretty different shapes, sizes, and/or bristle types. That being said, I think his new eye brush set is higher quality goat hair than the 00/holiday brushes that I have. Despite the 00 being (probably) my favorite brush due to the size and shape, it can have a slight prickle sometimes. (Since these were second hand though, this could be due to mishandling or age.) Aside from the liner brush in the new set, his new eye brushes are soft and have no issue with quality. The liner brush is unfortunately quite prickly, but it works very well with my creamy metallic formulas. So even though it doesn't feel very high quality imo, it is very useful, and I enjoy having it. I always struggle to compare Wayne Goss and Sonia G brushes since I think they tend to be geared towards different things. I do think that Sonia G's brushes are the highest quality brushes I personally have tried, and I think that her materials are a step above Wayne's. Sonia excels at making high quality, precise brushes, but I am often looking for less dense brushes. I really love Sonia's liner brushes, pencil brushes, and her precise squirrel hair brushes. But I would be hard pressed to put together an every day brush set with only Sonia G's brushes since they are so precise and specialized. (Also the shapes tend to be more rounded than I like.) I think part of the reason I like this "new" eye set from Wayne is that the set overall is very practical and versatile. I could use just this set for just about any eye look that I would want, and so I think it is a great beginner set. However, it sounds like you are trying to replace brushes. I would recommend thinking about what those brushes did for you. Were they dense and specialized and soft? Maybe look at Sonia G's brushes. Were they less dense and more versatile? Maybe Wayne Goss's brushes would be better. There are also many other brands out there that I don't know much about. I don't think you'll have an issue with finding quality brushes to replace your lost ones with -- I think finding the right shapes/sizes might be the harder objective.
What an incredibly detailed and thoughtful response! Thank you! I found a good secondhand listing that included Sonia G's Worker M, Builder M, and Soft Concealer brushes which should arrive sometime this week. Hopefully those should give me a good idea of what she is all about. I have the WG eye brush set on order as well because it looks so versatile. It will replace the brushes I lost and give me brushes I don't yet have, so I think I have my bases covered now. Except I just saw the Beautylish advertisement for Wayne's new The Collector's Edition brushes 🙈 Do you have any plans to review those sets as well?
@@laurensturdevant Wonderful! I hope you love all the brushes you got. Feel free to come back here once you've played around with them a bit -- I would love to know your thoughts on them. I actually did not know that Wayne was coming out with more brushes. I wasn't able to find any details on the new Collector's Edition brushes, so we shall see if anything piques my interest. Tbh, I probably don't need any more brushes though, lol 😅
@blathering. Haha I completely understand the sentiment. I am trying really hard to only get what I need and not hoard pretty, fluffy things. The problem is, I am just barely getting into fude (the WG Eye Set I got 7 years ago, then had a baby, and am just now getting back into makeup) so how am I to know what I want unless I experiment 😂 Even if you don't end up getting anything from the new WG set, I would still love to hear your thoughts on the information that comes out online. A fude group I recently joined claims they should be avaliable 1/14 at noon...🤔
@@laurensturdevant "so how am I to know what I want unless I experiment" This resonates so much with me especially with where I am with my makeup and brushes. Reviews can help, but you never really know what works for you until you try it. And generally you have to buy it for that 💸 Thank you so much for your kind words -- I do want to start doing videos again once I can find the time!
I just discovered your channel while trying to decide if I should li in this up from Beautylish. It comes with a palette and liner, so I’m trying to decide if I need these brushes and/or the palette. I love how you revisited these brushes after having them for a while!!
Thank you so much for your kind comment 🥰 I'm happy this video was helpful. I was hoping to do an updated review, but I just haven't had the time. I still really love this set from Wayne, and I think this is a versatile set (at least for me). I heavily use the E1 (all over lid + buffing), E2 (great crease brush), E4 (perfect laydown brush - I need another), and E6 (which is still prickly, but so useful for my PMG metallics in my eye line). E3 is just a little too big and stiff for my eye size and shape and the E5 is a lovely pencil brush but is like many of my other pencil brushes. I did not use the palette and liner that came with my brushes since they were not my colors, but I was able to pick up Wayne's Pearl Moonstone palette, and I think the formulas are great. I hope you love whatever you choose to get!
You probably know already , but I wanted to let you know that Sonia G just re-released the original squirrel crease one, smudger one, and pencil one. Maybe if you still want backups, they're now available.
Thank you so much! I did pick up another crease one, and I finally get to experience the original smudger one. Very excited that she brought these back (and that they didn't sell out immediately!). I hope she continues to make squirrel hair brushes - they are my favorite eye brushes.
Great review 🎉
Thank you so much 🥰 I hope it was helpful!
Have you tried the Rephr Shodo brushes?? They sound like exactly what you were wanting-the tips are so feathery and just glide over my weird foldy lids! I got the set of 5 from the “secret shop” and am loving them.
I have been going back and forth since I saw them come out! On one hand, I haven't been super happy with the Rephr brushes I've gotten, and I have mostly replaced them with better brushes. On the other hand, I am intrigued with their shape and the fact that they are more wispy at the tips. They almost sound like the two pointed crease brushes from Wayne's eye set I got last year, but more wispy. I've been wobbling on making the decision and spending wayyyy too much time researching these. I might take your endorsement as the tie breaker and get these 😆
@@blathering. lol I left my comment right before you got to the part of the video where you talked about how much you didn’t like the Rephr brush handles😂 I’ve got a Wayne Goss E2 on the way this Wednesday and can report back on the comparison!
@@blathering. OK, Wayne’s E2 is extremely similar in shape, size, and density to the Shodo 03! The bristles on the E2 do feel a bit silkier if I use the two brushes back to back, but they’re honestly closer in softness than I would’ve guessed. They feel quite similar on the eye, and their tips have the same kind of flex and glide to them. You can tell the E2 is a more premium version overall, but the Shodo brushes compare really well. I especially like the 00, which has the same feel but in a flatter, shader type shape. The 04 is one size up from the 03/E2 but still has the same flex-maybe worth checking out if you found the E3 too dense!
@@margohereandthere Thank you so much for your thoughts on these brushes! I'm still going back and forth on these, but I'll probably get them. Interesting that you find the tips of the Shodo and Wayne Goss E2 are similar - I thought the Shodo looked so much more wispy in reviews.
@@blathering. it definitely looks (and is?) more wispy, but it feels almost exactly the same on the eye--at least for me! It's quite possible that I'm just not discerning enough to be able to notice a difference, but I was really surprised how similar the E2 and 03 ended up being!
would u repurchase the pink or the yellow when u do finish them? i have the original light white one and it find it to have a hard pan on the top layer and its annoying because i feel like i wasted product just trying to get it off to get to the silkey powder underneath
Yes, I plan on repurchasing the pink PMG powder whenever I run out. (I gave the yellow away since it does not match my undertones nearly as well as the pink.) I had issues with hard pan on the yellow one but not on the pink one - not sure if that has anything to do with the formula or if I've just not managed to hardpan it yet. Honestly, I feel like I end up hardpanning most pressed setting powders at least a little bit because of my oily skin. If you really dislike hardpan, you might want to consider a loose powder. I don't like loose powders because they are messy and I am messy, but if you have to get one, the only one I've liked so far is the Huda one.
@blathering. ty for your in depth reply I really appreciate it so much. I dislike loose powder because I'm so messy and it's so bulky. Huda one makes my eyes itch and water and it breaks me out from the fragrance. I am going to buy the pink powder from pat m because it looks like exactly what I've been wanting the light white shade to be!!!!!! I wish sephora would restock it. I feel like pat mcgrath is leaving sephora because they never restock.
I have the WA for my face as setting powder on matte foundations. It goes strong since 2 years. I just repurchased the PMG powder in the light shade - it is by far the best as under eye setting powder as it is marketed. It is a pitty that brands are not following their own intentions... with rhe refill. I will try the Prada setting powder next - which already is available aa refill.
I like Jessicurl's new clarifying shampoo. So glad they came out with it
So good to hear! I still need to try Jessicurl’s new clarifying shampoo ❤️
Such a well detailed, honest video. Thank you.
Thank you so much 🥰 Glad the video was helpful!
Seriously Westman. Make your damn refills for god’s sake. I want to invest in this product but won’t until I see refills available. Thanks for sharing.
I purchased WA powder. Is there a refill?
I have not yet seen a refill for this powder.
Oh my goodness thank you! I ordered a bare minerals heavenly flattop makeup brush thinking it was the goat hair one, but I ended up getting the synthetic brush😢 I will return this brush because I don't like synthetic brushes :(
Oh no! Unfortunately I don't think bareminerals makes any natural hair brushes anymore, and I don't love the flat top synthetic brushes I've tried from them. You can find the natural hair bareminerals brushes second hand pretty easily if you are comfortable with that. I love the Sonia G Face One/ Buffer Pro, but I know that one is very pricey. I've learned the hard way that using a good brush with bareminerals is VERY important and can really change how the product applies.
@blathering. thank you so much and you are totally right hun! I love goat hair brushes and God spare life would like to grow a good collection! I hear tons of good reviews about Sonia G, do you think any of her brushes are compatible with liquid foundation? Also May I ask how do you wash your brushes? I brought a cheap goat hair set from OVW brushes and I noticed them breaking(?) Im not sure if the goat hair was so strained in the chemical process that it's breaking, or if it's shedding from the ferrule because it wasn't glued too good! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your brushes I will watch your other videos from a newbie enthusiast :D
@blathering. also agreed I ended up getting the same exact synthetic bareminerals you have and it's pretty awful! I didn't see it was synthetic because in the photo it was still in the package. I bidded on it and won, but at what cost 😭
@@dezzid.2558 So, I would recommend looking for reviews from people who use liquid foundation (I only use powder foundation), but if you really want fude to use for cream/liquid products, take a look at Sonia G's fusion line (mix of synthetic and goat hair). I have two concealer brushes from this line and the bristles are fantastic for cream and okay for liquid. (I rarely use them though since the shapes don't work for me.) Whenever I have tried using brushes that are only goat hair (e.g. Rephr) for cream or liquid, I have to use a lot of product (the hair tends to absorb the product) and the finish can be approximated with good synthetic brushes imo. Also, washing cream or liquid products out of goat hair is such a pain. In general, if you are using mostly cream or liquid products, I think that synthetic brushes are going to serve your needs better and at a lower price point. Maybe have a look at your makeup collection - What kinds of products do you usually use? Cream, liquid, powder? Make sure you are choosing good quality brushes for the products you are using. I'd really recommend looking at higher end synthetic brushes for liquid foundation - like BK beauty (my friend has these and loves them), Pat McGrath (I have and LOVE her concealer brush) or even Sephora pro brushes (good for the price point, not so good if you are sensitive to bristles poking you). There are probably many other good quality synthetic brands that I just don't know about. As for washing, I just use whatever shampoo I'm using usually. If you are using products that are harder to clean off of the bristles (cream, liquid), you might need something a little harsher. Unfortunately, if you find the brushes shedding continuously, there isn't really a way to fix it. It just means they are lower quality or use lower quality materials. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🥰
Thank you! This is the review I've been looking for. I agree with the creasing of bobbi brown cream but haven't tried the stick yet. Why do you prefer the cream over the stick?
Glad the video was helpful! I prefer the Bobbi Brown cream in the pot over the stick because I can get a much thinner application of the cream, which seems to help with creasing a bit. I also find that the cream has a bit more slip to it, so it is more comfortable to apply as well. Since I primarily wear concealer underneath my eyes, comfort in applying is very important to me. The Bobbi Brown stick formula has always seemed a bit more dry to me. Yes, it's less oily, but it's also over all more stiff. I have a hard time thinning out the formula and find that it creases in a more noticeable way. That being said, I don't think either of the formulas are bad, just that the cream one tends to work much better on my very oily skin.
Need to see it on
I already have the white one I’ll just keep using it since this one is white too 😅
Yes! If you already have something that works, you don't need this one. I'm just happy PMG came out with the pink one since the white one didn't work for me 🥰
I subscribed bc your name is hilarious, like I actually laughed. And then your video was super informative! Thank you
Lol, thank you 🥰 I thought the channel name was an accurate representation of my, um, presentation style 😂 So happy the video was helpful!
Hi ! Thanks for this video . Had no idea about these elf lip glosses . Love the mauve one . Will definitely give it a try 👍🏻 do you wear foundation or bb cream , tinted moisturisers? Would love a video about that 😘
My pleasure 😊 I was so excited about these spf lip glosses, and they did not disappoint! Let me know what you think about them if you pick one up. Thank you for the video idea! 💖 I've tried many tinted moisturizers, bb creams, etc and I've been meaning to put together a video going through them. However, most of the time I actually just layer my sunscreen (usually Hada Labo UV white gel) + a silicone primer (elf dupe for supergoop unseen) + bareminerals powder foundation.
I can’t believe that was free! I’ve purchased their “popular” sunscreen several times! It’s very creamy but as an oily skin girl I wish that it was a bit lighter.
Yes, I was so proud of myself for getting that deal! I try to wait around for when their free item is something I actually want - it doesn't happen very often though. Tbh, you aren't missing too much if you have super oily skin like me. It has a nice serum like quality, but it still has a little greasiness. I can totally see someone with more normal or drier skin liking it though. My HG is still the Hada Labo White UV gel (with a layer of Supergoop unseen or the Elf dupe on top). I have heard the same thing about the BoJ popular sunscreen in the tube. I think it might be a bit heavier for really oily people like me. I still debate getting it every now and then though because there are so many rave reviews!
Great video ! I’ve never heard that either . Quite shocking! I also don’t use Retin A especially in the summer time . Giada
Thank you for your comment 🥰 Yes, I was very surprised! Oh well, I don't think retinols are for me anyway.
You’re right, my E6 is not soft, it’s a scratchy brush. I use it only to stamp on eyeliner or for my brows.
Yes, I do wish it was softer, but it's great for stamping on eyeliner. 🥰 It would be great for brow products!
Your video is the only video that made these brushes look beautiful. I've seen so many videos of these brushes with me trying to get a feel of them, and came away thinking they were dull looking and probably light and cheap feeling. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much for your kind comment 🥰 I'm so happy I was able to capture some of the beauty of these brushes. They really are so much more beautiful in person - really elegant in an understated way. Also, these are actually slightly heavier feeling than my other eye brushes. I think it may have to do with the wood chosen for the brushes (hornbeam) which I think is different from everything else I have. The slight weightiness and elegant look make these look/feel like expensive brushes, which isn't always the case for fude.
Was waiting for this video . Need to make an order on Stylevana and wanted to try the hada labo toner and gel . I presently use the Naturie ( Japanese)conditioner and milk , and I just bought The Decorté , lift dimension line ( also Japanese ) it’s super expensive but so so good at hydrating my skin ❤ then I also want to try the Kikumasamune line . Do you use any actives ? Thank you
I'm so happy the video was helpful 🥰IMO, it's hard to go wrong with Japanese skincare products, especially if you want lots of hydration. I think you'll love both of the Hada Labo products. The toner is probably the most hydrating skin care that I've come across (aside from SKII, but that one is just too expensive), and I love that the sunscreen is an all in one product (toner + light moisturizer + sunscreen). Let me know what you think of the Hada Labo products vs the Naturie! I've never used Decorte or Kikumasamune, but I've heard great things about both. Since my skin is so sensitive, I don't typically use what most people would refer to as actives. The main ingredients I go for are calming agents (e.g tranexamic acid), ferments (currently using the isntree bifida amouple), and low percentage "exfoliating" acids for resetting my skin's pH balance (don't have a favorite product here yet). These help hydrate my skin and keep it from over reacting to things. I tend to use ceramide heavy moisturizers to help with my skin barrier (mostly Cerave stuff). The only other "treatment" I use is the Strivectin moisturizer (which I got in PR but will purchase) since this seems to help my skin barrier in a way that nothing else does. I hope all your skincare works out for you 🙏 I know I've gone through a lot of trial and error (and still do)!
This is the kind of review I have been looking for! Very detailed and I love the comparison you did. Most famous influencers nowadays do more like a quick review and it is not as satisfying as this. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind comment 🥰 And I'm so happy you found this in depth review helpful!
Hi ! I’m binge watching all your videos !! I’m almost 50 and a with cool undertone . I have lots of trouble finding good formulas and colours . Which concealer is your favourite of all time ? Thank you
Thank you so much for your kind words 🥰 I hope my videos are helpful! Complexion products are very subjective, and what I prefer caters to my very oily, dehydrated skin and my very cool toned + olive skin. And I'm picky, lol. I find that overall, I vastly prefer cream concealers to liquid. Cream products seem to apply more easily, look more flawless for longer, are better on my wrinkle textures, don't require primer to look good (although they do look better with primer), and don't flake off the way most liquid concealers seem to do. The Bobbi Brown color corrector (the pot formulation, not the stick) is still my favorite for formulation. I find that I keep trying other things because the color light bisque is still a little bit too peach/orange for me. If you are neutral leaning cool, you probably won't have this problem, and the bisque (read: pink) color corrector range should work for neutral to cool undertones. The formulation is just so good though - or at least it is for me. If you are looking for a concealer and haven't tried this one, I recommend trying it out. Typing this all out makes me realize I need to do an updated concealer video! I hope this helps ❤
I haven’t tried it yet Tfs
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🥰
very detailed and thorough review! I have the white powder and it's obvious the pink powder is different from videos alone. i am skipping on it because it seems too powdery and I like the original formula.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I do think the pink one is quite a bit more powdery and messy than the other PMG under eye blurring powders. I'm so happy you are enjoying the original one!
You have a lovely Pat McGrath collection! I am very pale with cool toned skin and also have hooded eyes. I purchased the Natasha Denona I need a Nude pallette and love it! Several thoughts that came to mind while watching your video regarding your dilemma with transition shades (I’m not an MUA just an enthusiast). 1). I find some of PMcG mattes can easily sheer out depending on brush hair used. I like to use extremely light touch with a variety of different squirrel hairs. 2) sometimes I like to mix mattes to attain the desired transition shade. For example taking a cream shade and mixing with a darker shade to get the tone I am seeking. 3) perhaps rather than looking at a whole pallette consider looking at some singles? If you have access to say a MAC counter? Their SA’s could possibly give you some great guidance as to what should work. The Viseart cool mattes is a good suggestion as Viseart mattes do mix well. Both Dior and Channel have recently released reformulated singles and both might have the type of pigmentation level you are seeking? Another option might be to look at Asian eyeshadows as they generally aren’t as pigmented as western shadows. Best of luck!
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and give such detailed advice 🥰 1) Yes! This is part of what I love about PMG's mattes. You can achieve the color that it is in the pan OR sheer it out to a whisper of the color (without it getting patchy!) or anything in between. I think where I run into issues with my current collection is nothing quite goes cool toned enough. Sheering out some colors allows me to 'get away' with using them, but I would love some that just work for me without having to 'make them work.' 2) This is such a good idea - I'll def try this out! 3) Yes, I think singles would be good for me. I think I get a little overwhelmed trying to figure out which would work for me simply because I'm still learning what to look for. I'm learning that undertones are super important for me, but it always seems like everything runs warm on me even if it's 'cool toned.' Stopping by a counter is a good idea. I haven't done that in a while!

Way less talking please. We want to see swatches and we want to see how they look on your dark circles.
🩺 I wonder if you might like either Viseart Cool Mattes 2 or Sydney Grace mattes. Those are some of my fav formulas outside of Pat or Natasha. I think I'm leaning more towards Sydney Grace because you can get 1 or 2 shades for a reasonable price, and they have a large selection of shades to choose from. I don't have any specific shades because that's not my personal preference/flattering on my skintone, but there are a lot of videos with ppl who do like cooler shades. I hope you find what you're looking for.
Thank you so much for your kind and detailed comment 🥰 Viseart and Sydney Grace are absolutely on my list to try at some point. I've heard great things about their formulas and their cool tone range.
Yes! I found a similar use for the E6 to push on chunkier shadows, but I still found it a bit pokey. I have some random silicon brush in the shape of a slanted eyebrow brush that reaches quite a defined and firm point. I use that in a similar way to push on the chunkier shadows. It is way less messy, more comfortable and I can get a much finer line from it.
Thanks for sharing!! I can totally see a silicon brush serving the same kind of purpose. The E6 is just so firm that it might as well be a solid surface, and silicon would have a softer, less draggy feel on the skin.

Hello beautiful....new friend here....I have been contemplating getting these or singe brushes. I still haven't made up my mind yet 😕
Hello! Thank you so much for your kind comment 🥰 Buying new brushes is always exciting and also kind of stressful haha. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Singe brushes (or synthetic brushes in general tbh). I'm sure there are plenty of reviews of the brand out there, and I hope you can find some that are useful to you. Maybe one thing to consider if you've already narrowed it down to Rephr or Singe is to think about what makeup products you will be using with them and how those products might work with the brush fibers. Do you use mostly powder? Mostly cream? Liquid? If you use mostly liquid or cream products, I'd recommend going with synthetic. If you, like me, use almost exclusively powder products, I'd go with natural hair. Also, I know it's very tempting to get a really big set of brushes from whichever brand you choose, but I'd actually recommend just getting a small handful of brushes (maybe 5?). That way you can try them out for a while and see if you like how they work with your makeup and hold up. You can always go back and buy more if you like them, and if you don't end up liking them then at least you didn't put all your eggs in one basket. I was originally considering getting all of Rephr's brushes when I ordered, and I'm really happy I decided not to do that 😅 Whichever brushes you choose, I hope you love them! ❤️
Thanks so much for your review! So glad you love our 'First Kiss' shade ❤ If you're into the bright pinks, we recommend trying our new 'Neon Rose' shade, or for a more of a classic or deep red, we recommend our 'Glamorous' and 'Hayley' shades
Thank you so much for your comment and recommendations🥰Neon Rose looks perfect! I'll have to try that one out.
I really like your brush review videos! Thank you for the informative and honest review! 😊
Thank you so much 🥰 I'm happy you find these helpful!
You need more lipsticks!!!
Haha, lipsticks are always so tempting! I feel like I'm still figuring out what formulas and colors I like, so I'm trying to take it slow 😇
New subbie
Thank you so much for joining 🥰
That looks white on Camera. Weird she didn't go alittle more pink I mean she went really yellow on her yellow so why not go pink for a pink powder???
Yes! My thoughts exactly! I thought we were going to get the pink version of the yellow powder 😅

🥰💕
such an in depth amazing video! I've never tried a pink powder but found the info and swatch comparisons so helpful!
Thank you so much! Happy this video was helpful 🥰
What's the square pink one makeup brand ????
If you’re talking about the top left powder, it’s hourglass ambient lighting powder in “mood light”. It’s a finishing powder though, not a setting powder.
@@Xoxo_Koko Thank you!
The two square compacts are both from Hourglass. The bigger one is a finishing powder (in color "Mood Light") and the smaller one is actually a blush but I use it as a finishing powder (in color "Ethereal Glow"). The loose powder in the square container is the Huda Beauty setting powder in Cherry Blossom.
it would be awesome if pat was still in control of her brand.
Ikr? She's such a genius with color, formulation, and application. I do hope that we'll get a 'wow' product from her every once in a while. I don't expect to get ground breaking products from her every year, but I do hope we get something every once in a while. Oh, and I hope they consider releasing a wildly saturated pink setting powder because that's what I wanted this powder to be 💕
@blathering you should take a look at the Jones Road Pink setting powder or the Ben Nye “Luxury” powder in Rose Glow!
@@cattiedoggie8 Yes! I was looking at both of those as well as Mob Beauty's pink setting powder when the PMG pink powder came out. We shall see if I pick up any of those at some point. Pink powders are one of those things that I really, really enjoy trying out, and I don't mind having a larger collection of them 🥰
another comment for the algorithm gods.
🙏all hail the ai overlords, may their recommendations never run stale
so glad you took the bullet for me for this one... thank you.
Haha, you are very welcome. I love pink powders, and I've been waiting for this one for a long time so I had to pick this one up! So sad the pink pigment (or lack thereof) is disappointing. It's not useful for color correction, but it does work nicely for my skin tone.
Great video 👍👍 I've been looking at the rephr brushes and wondering how they hold up or if they become scratchy after some washings ????? I do like the price point of there eye brushes 💙💛❤💚💜
Thank you so much 🥰 I personally don't have any issues with any of my rephr brushes (or any other fude for that matter) getting scratchy over time. If they are scratchy, they were scratchy from the start. I would just be careful with how you wash them - be sure to use a gentle soap. I personally use shampoo, but that's just me. I know a lot of people use Dr. Bronner's, but, um, I would steer clear of that one. I find it quite stripping and would not use it on my brushes. However, I only use my fude with powder products (except one rephr brush and my Sonia G fusion brushes), and I would expect using fude with cream/liquid products may require a harsher cleaning agent and might have a different outcome. (Tbh, I strongly recommend synthetic brushes for creams/liquids for this and many other reasons.) My understanding is that fude (and probably all brushes) will get scratchy or fall apart with lots and lots of use, and how long they last will be dependent on how you treat them. I have not had to retire any of my fude (I've only had them for 1-2 years) and I hope to not have to for many, many years! The rephr brushes can be a good deal (at their 50% price, please never purchase them at full price) if you are on a budget and are okay with lower quality for a lower price point. I personally have quite sensitive skin and therefore strongly prefer my Sonia G and Wayne Goss brushes. Please also take into account the shapes that you prefer, as Rephr does not have many of the brush shapes/sizes that I like. I have a Rephr review video on my thoughts after using them for a year if you want more detailed info. Not trying to put down Rephr brushes, just trying to give objective info as someone who prefers higher end fude. Hope this helps!
Wayne Goss has been on wants list for a very long time now ... Years to be honest.. They look beautiful 💙💛❤💚💜
Wayne's brushes are amazing, especially if you have hooded eyes. If you are interested in his brushes, wait around for the Beautylish gift card event (I think you get a $20 gift cared for every $100 you spend). I think this is a great starter set, but it will depend on your preferences.
Great video 👍👍 I've been watching a lot of brush videos. I need to get some good affordable brushes I've been looking at sigma and rephr ones... but these look amazing 💞 I'm sending out love to everyone 💙💛❤💚💜
Thank you so much! I hope you find brushes you love 🥰 Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
I was disappointed at first but it brightens nicely, easy to use, blurring.. not all that but something
I'm so happy this works for you! It is a very nice powder that doesn't cake or dry/dehydrate my skin (like so many other powders do), but for the price point I think I was hoping for more.
@@blathering. absolutely.
Yes! We were promised refills! I got the color crème which oxidizes on the skin. And I wish I got the pink or translucent. I thought I would buy the refill to replace creme. I find this powder doesn’t do what I need it to do though. It doesn’t blur, and it doesn’t hold back shine. So I don’t know if I should even bother with replacements.
Oh no! I'm so sorry the creme color oxidizes on you - that's like one of my worst fears with any makeup product. I'm so lucky that I had figured out my undertone a bit better when I got this powder, otherwise I probably would have gotten creme as well. Although this is a nice powder, it's kind of a great powder among other great powders that are half the price, you know? And the fact that it seems to go off in a year AND they don't have refills yet is just insulting. I'll have a first impressions of the new pink PMG powder up once I get it. If you are looking for blurring + shine control, I think it's a great option. It's marketed as an undereye powder, but I use it all over the face. You might also want to check out Hot Mess Tom's channel - they have done lots of reviews on blurring powders (including both the westman atelier and PMG powder). Might be a good way of seeing what other options are out there! I say this because I'm very partial to the PMG powder and have been literally begging them to come out with a pink powder for a long time - but I know the formula isn't for everyone! edit: omg, it's hautemess tom not hot mess tom 😅
@@blathering. I love the PMG setting powder, I have it in every colour except the pink one. I saw Morgan review it recently, it’s not very pink. It is identical to the translucent shade on the skin. Which works for my under eyes, but may not work for u (u mentioned it was too light?).
@@nkurdy288 Yes, I have been watching every review I can on the new PMG pink powder since it came out, and I did hold out on buying it for that very reason - it looked almost white in the pan in most people's early reviews. I was so disappointed 😭. However, after seeing it in lots of different lighting, I think it's going to be more like the PMG yellow powder: muted and neutral. Which in the lighting that most youtubers use, will make it look white. My issue with the PMG light powder is it's just too stark white for my saturated skin tone, so it looks powdery on my skin. I think the pink one might have enough color (and not so much white base) so that is blends properly into my skin tone. What makes this decision difficult is out of all of the reviews I have seen, I haven't seen anyone who can't use the white one review whether they are able to use the pink one. I might very well be talking myself into a powder that's too light for me 😅, but the PMG powder is my favorite formula, and I've been waiting for it in pink for years. So I have to try it. But it may very well be too light for me - we shall see!
I have a lot of pink in my skin too - what foundation do you like? Hard to find for me! Also: check out Sisley (same price range as Westman or close). . . They have lovely pressed and loose pink powders! I like those better than WA - I find WA too dry 😮
@@cattiedoggie8 Oooh, I've heard such good things about Sisley's powders. I would def consider picking one up once I've finished my WA powder. As for foundation, the only foundation I've ever really been able to tolerate on my skin is the bareminerals powder foundation (medium is my best match, although I think it's a little dark). I've tried a variety of foundations, bb creams, tinted sunscreens etc, and the only other thing that was a good color match was Australian Gold tinted sunscreen, which looked really nice, but still had that mask-like feel as it dried down, which is my usual issue with liquid foundation-like products. Everything else I've tried looks too light or too orange. However, my struggle comes from having lots of pink in my skin plus having a very strong olive tone (lots of green in my skin), which means I need products with a high saturation of pink BUT also basically no orange/peach pigment. If you just have lots of pink but no green in your skin tone, you'll have a wider range of products to choose from. If you have the same color match issues as me but want a liquid foundation, I'd recommend Haus labs. I was impressed at the color match I got from the concealer, although in the end I still preferred the formula from my Bobbi brown color corrector (probably since it's a cream formula and haus labs is liquid).
