- If you struggle to find a good powder, then let me tell you about the best powders I have tried! This is my current powder collection including my favorites -- and a few that I have technically already decluttered.
Powders discussed:
~ Westman Atelier Vital Pressed Skincare Powder, Pink Bubble
~ Pat McGrath Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Blurring Under-Eye Powder, Yellow (and Light - already gave this one away)
~ Florasis (Huaxizi) Fairy Peach Blossom Pressed Powder (Impression of Dai)
~ Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, Mood Light
~ Wayne Goss The Weightless Powder, Translucent
~ Mineral Fusion Pressed Setting Powder, Translucent
~ IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Poreless Finish Loose Setting Powder
~ Bareminerals Original Mineral Veil Setting Powder, Translucent
I never realized how long these product names were until now . . . 😅
I have a similar skin condition as yours but these days it has gotten more dryer which I’ve never thought I would turn into since I had oily skin my whole life, anyways abt the Florasis powder they’re actually well known for their powders and I would recommend you to check out their loose powder (peach blossom powder) I think it’s for dry to normal skin cuz it’s more lightweight and for the packaging I think they do put their out most care for their packaging and the history behind it(I do love their packaging) but for the collection you got the “Dai” one tbh I agree with you abt it being “gaudy” and a bit “tacky” cuz of how they made the design of the peacock ( I personally didn’t like their whole “Dai” collection for that reason) great vid thanks ❤
Thank you so much! I've actually been lusting over the Florasis loose powder since they came out with a pink one (I think they have pink pressed ones now too). I was considering purchasing one of those pink powders, but then Pat McGrath came out with a pink powder in her blurring under eye powder (which I love!) so I had to get that. I do appreciate how non drying/dehydrating the powder is from Florasis, and I've only heard good things about their other powders. I felt a bit bad being so critical of the packaging, but I think less would have been a bit more for this specific one. And tbh my expectations were HIGH for the packaging of this brand. I'm sure I would enjoy their other packaging though.
I had to learn how to use Laura Mercier powder it’s really good I’m not super oily but the finish is beautiful
Haha, I think the learning curve of that product was too steep for me! Unfortunately, I don't think the Laura Mercier powder was meant for me. No matter how little I put on, what concealer I used, or what brushes I used, it would always look cakey. Especially under my eyes. I'm sure some of the issue was user error, but my skin can also make a lot of complexion products go on weird 🤷♀️ I'm so happy it works for you though 🥰 From the reviews I've seen, when that powder works for someone, it works really well.
