Hi Elrin! I think this course is too in-depth and too in the weeds for beginner trumpet players. I would recommend you find a good private trumpet teacher instead to help you get through the first 3 books or so of fundamentals. Great question here king! How high do you want to play? -Want Limitless Range? For myself and some of my students, our goal was to have limitless range. No cap. If that's your goal too: limitless definitely takes the most amount of time and work, you'll need to keep dialing it in until you reach peak efficiency, but yes you can get there. Lesson #7 of my course goes deep into the details of how to play into the extreme upper register. -Want Another Octave? Most guys just want another octave of range, or just want their Double C. These goals are much easier to achieve and take less time and effort.

thanks ttandari! and absolutely my man, here's something you can try in order to reach those higher tones over the staff: try rolling your lips into your mouth slightly saying "MMmmmmm," keep your lips together (don't open up your jaw too wide), place your aperture near the top rim or bottom rim of your mouthpiece, now play a note. If it feels tighter than you're used to then you're doing it right;) The more you work on this and practice in the "high compression" set, the easier/ more comfortable it will become and you'll get better and better!

totally agreed! especially in the romanticism of MF's playing. He sounds like he's singing up there... you know what's funny? the AI program I used to help separate tracks actually put all of MF's really high stuff (high G and above) into a separate track labeled "Vocals." In short, even modern AI thought that MF was singing!
