As some of you might know, I got married in the Fall of 2024. I accidentally broke a mug from a set that was gifted to my husband and me. It would have been a shame to throw it away. So, instead, I bought a Kintsugi Kit. Kintsugi is a Japanese art form that highlights that beauty exists in imperfections and flaws. Although this mug was broken, it has since become my favorite because of its own unique design.
Inevitably, I'll likely break something by accident in the future. Life is full of moments of mistakes. This project reminded me that one's perspective and consequent actions are what bring beauty into life. Although I didn't want to break the glass, I was able to turn that into an expression of beauty.
