Αἱ γενεαὶ πᾶσαι, ὕμνον τῇ Ταφῇ σου, προσφέρουσι Χριστέ μου.
All generations offer a hymn at Thy burial, O my Christ.
Μυροφόροι ἦλθον, μύρα σοι Χριστέ μου, κομίζουσαι προφρόνως.
The approaching myrrhbhearers carried myrrh zealously to Thee, O my Christ.
Δεῦρο, πᾶσα κτίσις, ὕμνους ἐξοδίους, προσοίσωμεν τῷ Κτίστῃ.
Come, all creation, [in] departing, let us cry out with hymns to the Creator.
Ὡς νεκρὸν τὸν ζῶντα, σὺν Μυροφόροις πάντες, μυρίσωμεν ἐμφρόνως.
Let us all, with the myrrhbhearers, annoint with prudence the dead Living One.
Ἰωσὴφ τρισμάκαρ κήδευσον τὸ σῶμα Χριστοῦ, τοῦ ζωοδότου.
Thrice-blessed Joseph lays away the Body of Christ, the Giver of life.
Ὢ τῆς παραφροσύνης καὶ τῆς Χριστοκτονίας, τῆς τῶν προφητοκτόνων!
O the folly and the christocide of the prophet-killers!
Ὧ γλυκύ μου ἔαρ, γλυκύτατόν μου Τέκνον, ποῦ ἔδυ σου τὸ κάλλος;
O my sweet springtime, O my sweetest child, to where has Thy beauty sunk?
Ἀνάστηθι οἰκτίρμον, ἡμᾶς ἐκ τῶν βαράθρων, ἐξανιστῶν τοῦ ᾍδου.
Arise, Merciful One, and from the depths of Hades, raise us up.
Ἔρραναν τὸν τάφον, αἱ Μυροφόροι μύρα, λίαν πρωῒ ἐλθοῦσαι.
The myrrhbearers came early in the morning and sprinkled Thy tomb with myrrh.
Εἰρήνην Ἐκκλησία, λαῷ σου σωτηρίαν, δώρησαι σῇ Ἐγέρσει.
By Thine awakening, grant peace to the Church and salvation to Thy people.
Ὦ Τριὰς Θεέ μου, Πατὴρ Υἱὸς καὶ Πνεῦμα, ἐλέησον τὸν Κόσμον.
O Trinity, O my God - Father, Son and Spirit, have mercy on the world.
Ἰδεῖν τὴν τοῦ Υἱοῦ σου Ἀνάστασιν Παρθένε, ἀξίωσον σοὺς δούλους.
To behold thy Son's resurrection, O Virgin, make thy servants worthy.
