Is it mostly what is popular in your area and how do you combine those design elements to perform as you like? In my mind it’s like you choose noserider versus glider options and most of the boards have specific design for their break and other conditions

Hi Zack Really enjoying your videos ! When cutting the outline are you cutting 90degrees off the bottom of the board or do you stay 90 off the floor as you go into the nose and tail?

why measure on deck instead of bottom? i've heard most shapers measure length taking into account the rocker by measuring the bottom of the board tip to tail

Hi Zack, the two words you’re looking for are; “plumb”; meaning perfectly straight up and down. And “square” as in a perfect right angle. 😉 BTW, I love your boards; you’re a great shaper!! These videos are great! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I’ve had a specific board in mind I may try to shape myself😅

Zack, re. Rail bands, there’s a much more efficient way of doing so, with a 90* marker.

Hi @zach_flores, what technique would you use to reduce rocker in certain areas? Say reduce entry rocker. Or flatten the center of the board. Adding rocker at the tail and nose seems quite straightforward, but just thinking about flattening rocker, I can see many ways it could go wrong 😅. I.e. destroying the overall curve of the rocker.
