Whenever people mention that they've never seen this movie I tell them it's a must. People never like to be told they must see something but I truly believe it in this case. It's phenomenal!

Jack and Brad had such great chemistry in this movie. You actually buy the fact that they could be brothers (not blood relatives, of course). Mac befriended everyone in the ward, but Billy was special to him; like a little brother or a pupil.

Saw this film the first time in 2015, and today in 2024 it still hits the same way. I can't imagine a more beautiful scene than this one.

The stuttering comes from fear of awkward silence, not answering, people pleasing, negative thoughts in your head, and overthinking. Basically as you’re saying something to match up with someones speed and expectations, a negative thought pops up and you question what you’re about to say.

This is a very powerful scene so brilliantly acted by Brad Dourif. It's painful to watch as Billy suffers at Ratched's manipulation of the conversation.

It's incredible that he got an Oscar nomination for his first big role on film. Brad Dourif is SO underrated, I've never seen a bad performance out of him. In fact he's the best part of some of them. A couple of the movies in the Child's Play series aren't great, Patient X single-handedly saved The Exorcist III... he deserves for people to know him outside of voicing Chucky.

When I first saw this, I already knew who Brad Dourif is and sat through most of it before I realized he was playing Billy. What a great role! This was Dourif's first film role. Will Sampson was also just a rodeo brono buster when he was discovered.
