This film is better than any horror movie ever made. And that goes for the Chucky movies, ‘cause the guy who plays Billy is also the voice of that Good Guy doll.
"Well, I tried, didn't I? God damn it. At least I did that." This was my favorite line, and the pivotal line in arguably the most significant scene in the story. I see this scene as analogous to how we can approach life with courage and honesty. There is dignity and growth that comes from knowing you showed up and gave something your best honest effort, even if you don't succeed. The worst thing you can do in life is to not even try because you are afraid you might fail. "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" - Wayne Gretzky.
I saw this film when it first came out in the 70's. It had a great impact on me. I didn't quite understand this line as I was rather young at the time but I did understand it was a crucial point in the film. Only a few years later I understood what it meant and I still often think about it. It is still one of the best films I have ever seen!
Movies that changed my life ... watching this as 10 year old !!! Since I saw this movie I thought that’s it that’s me that’s how I’m going to be .... the one who stands out from the masses ❤️
The way he said: “any bar in doooooownnnntowwwwwwn “ makes wanna go in a bar watching the ballgame even if i’m not english speaking and know a dick of baseball😂
yes and how on the boat scene in the book. Every time Chief Bromden noticed McMurphy stand back and just smile and laugh whenever the other passengers (these guys in the film) having their best time of their lives. Being themselves, acting like normal humans. That is what McMurphy wanted to see. He didn’t want to step in and help because he was happy to see them act “normal”. And you can tell they changed on how they acted before getting on the boat and how they acted coming off the boat. The doctor not being able to say anything. No one took him serious. But when they came back. The Doctor stood his ground to the police. At the point we see the character development. I prefer george’s character development because before the fishing trip. He was unsure of himself going to the trip. He didn’t speak much as well. But as soon as he saw sight of the boat and maneuvered the boat. His conscious came back. His life came back.
As a man who has been subject to the utter ruthlessness of women I relate to this more than you can know. I'm not allowed access to my baby because I don't fit the model of what my ex sees as a 'man'. Toxic masculinity is the cool thing to despise now, but not many people want to talk about toxic feminity. Even though it exists... Il always good a part of RP McMurphy in my heart.. thankyou jack Nicolson

When Chief put it through the window is one the greatest scenes in film history.

This is true.
“Maybe he’ll just show nurse ratched his big thing and she’ll open the door for him” lol one of the best underrated lines of the film.

Mine too and fully agree with what you have written. If I fail at least I tried 👍
Mine as well. I was laughing loudly for a minutes when he said that and just few seconds later he hits the doors with anxiety.

Billy, Brad Dourif is an incredible actor. He was in the X Files, where he played a serial killer! But here he’s adorable as Billy Bibbit.

" I bet a dime."
Sums up any time I’ve failed at everything in life. 😂
Fun fact the actor who plays Billy Bibbit is also the guy who voices chucky
He’s been in a lot of other movies too. But Cuckoo’s Nest will always be his best movie, even if he hates it.
@@dannythomas417 wait he hates this movie
@Elliot Zilahy I don’t know. But the actress who played Nurse Ratched won the Oscar for best supporting actress and yet she hates it.
And don't forget Wormtongue in "Lord of the Rings"!
I love christopher lloyd
He grew up the town over from me!
Billy loves him and doesn't want to see his Pal fail ❤
Foreshadowing at its finest
Thank God the 2 spirits joined at the end

At least he tried. At least he FUCKING tried...
In the book, he tears open his hands to blood when he attempts to rip it out.
I think he lost a bet of 26 dollars plus a dime...
2:16 😂😂😂😂
In the book, thisis supposed to represent the effort he made to save them from their situation, right? The massive undertaking and how hard he tried?
Yes
