Great list! I'm actually starting Parable of the Sower soon for a book club and in the middle of reading Pride and Prejudice right now for another book club. Pride and Prejudice has been a bit of a challenge for me to get into, but I'm trying to approach it from a historical perspective and that's working out for me. It's really well-written, but I'm not necessarily that into the setting and historical period. I have a few series/books that I'm committing to this year. 1. A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin - I watched all of Game of Thrones, am up to date with House of the Dragon, and have read through most of Fire & Blood. I think it's about time for me to read these books. 2. The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski - Between The Witcher 4 game announcement recently and my familiarity with some Slavic mythology, I'm really excited to finally get into the books this year. I'm collecting all of the Illustrated Edition hardcovers. 3. Dune by Frank Herbert - I've read it up through the events of the first Denis Villeneuve movie and have seen Dune Part II, but I want to finally finish the book. Maybe I'll move on to the rest of the series. 4. Some miscellaneous books that I want to read for one reason or another - Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sarah Gay Forden, Gunmetal Gods by Zamil Akhtar, and Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson.

I did the same thing. I liked Shadow and Bone but couldn’t finish the second book because it was a bit dull. I’ve been meaning to go back to it for years now because I hate not finishing books but I don’t think it’s going to happen. There’s just too many other books to read!

11/22/63 is genuinely the best thing I've ever read and I hate big books. It changed my liiiiiife. You read it and you never want it to end its so good!!

I'll take some movie talk any day. I loved Addie LaRue! I think I read it in 2023, but it's definitely a favorite. It's one of those books where I immediately became a fan of the author. I read A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab last year and also had a good time with it. Taylor Jenkins Reid is another author I instantly became a fan of after reading Daisy Jones & The Six. I love band stories in general, fictional or real, so I was already pre-disposed to loving that book. The audiobook elevated Daisy Jones for me and now that's a favorite too. I just read through The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo about a month ago, but didn't enjoy it as much as Daisy Jones for spoiler reasons towards the end. My Top 2 books of 2024 were: 1. Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson (The Stormlight Archive Book 3) 2. The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang
