I had to put my cat to sleep on Wednesday there. She was diagnosed with asthma and an infection, I had to give her nebulizer treatments & she was on steroids. She did okay for 4 days, then she stopped eating and drinking, then walking.. it was heartbreaking. I hope Cleo gets better soon ❤
I've just added "If We Were Villains" to my reading list. I love the found family trope, too. Actually, I didn't even realize that it had a name before you mentioned liking it in one of your videos. So, thank you for that! Great video, as always! ^_^
I finally got around to reading Carrie just a few months ago myself. That book has been in my possession, or the possession of my family anyway, for probably more years than I'm old (currently 37 going on 38.) I have a huge backlog of videos I need to create showcasing my bookshelves and "hauls" I've made as well, but I am the epitome of a procrastinator. It is the season of new beginnings, though. I've been meaning to do this for a while. Not so much ASMR, though. I probably could do it, but it feels would feel a little too weird for me to make ASMR myself, personally speaking, even though I have a LOT of professional audio equipment which is going massively underused these days. (Mostly for recording guitar.)
My girlfriend disliked The Secret History but loved The Goldfinch. I loved both of them but I think The Goldfinch is a better written novel which might sustain your interest more. Tarrt was writing The Secret History while she was still an undergrad(!) so she has definitely grown as a novelist since then.

Im not a reader myself but I can listen to you talk about books all day. Your voice is so soft and soothing and calming that you could make a video reading a computer manual and I would love it lol. Love your content :) Halloween seems to be alive and well in Texas...a lot of the time the adults get pretty into it too and hang out in their front yard/drive way socializing with neighbors...sometimes over adult beverages and a fire pit :) The weather is probably a lot more mild than up in Canada though...maybe it thrives more in warmer climates?
I also preferred If we Were Villains to TSH! I super strongly recommend Her Majesty’s royal coven and the follow up The Shadow Cabinet by Juno Dawson (3rd one not out yet!) They’re the best witchy books I’ve ever read, super modern with great representation and exploration of current world topics. Also super witty and fun and gripping! 🖤🖤🖤

I recommend “In this way I was saved” it’s a horror book that isn’t particularly scary, but I quite liked it.
