It was easy to find decent shots when I first started because I grew up on basketball and was just recapturing moments I've seen before. My only issue is that my technique sucked so I don't have many of those photos. The best places for photos to sit are on the sideline around the 3-point break to the corner. The baseline about a quarter of the way in (seated) and next to the stanchion while seated with a lenser as wide and fast as possible. Also experiment if the venue is large enough, I've gone up 10 or 15 rows opposite the benches. If you capture an electric play, you'll get the audience in as well. I normally don't comment because I'm fairly new to the act photography, but I love basketball and felt knowledgable on this one.

[For basketball] If you can move, you really only need a 50mm 1.8 prime, if you can't move then a zoom is ideal with another cam on a wider Prime. A setup I've used before when shooting for a university NIKON D300s 70-200 F2.8 Canon R10 with either a 28 f2.8 or 50 f1.8 prime

Sorry to say, but as nice INTERNAL recording might sound to everyone, RAW is recorded best on an external device like the Ninja V. PROFOTO triggers work flawless on ALL my Nikon F, D & Z Models

Planning to sell my x100v to fund this . I love Fuji but it’s time to move on. I’ve also owned like 10 Fuji cameras and some of the multiple time . I have previously owned 4 Z cameras . I find that Nikon is an easy transition from Fuji .

The 2 main things that you point out (cannot use PW triggers and no external ssd recording) are the same reasons I am NOT purchasing the Z9. I am a huge Nikon fanboy all the way back to the film days and , sorry Nikon, because of this, you lost my business. Panasonic Lumix for the win, and for photography, I’ll stick to my trusted Nikon D4.

Every camera should have the LCD screen that is on the Sony a7R V, and this debate will finally be over. You can have your photography focused style screen as well as please ANY video shooter out there. This is the screen I like the most, best of both worlds. I shoot too many cameras as it is but if my Nikon Z9 had the Sony a7R V screen I would be SO stoked. I don't know why the camera companies haven't ALL caught on to this. Unless they are concerned about production costs, which I think they would make up in customer satisfaction and new customers moving over from other systems. This is a TOTAL whiff for any companies excluding screens like this (Sony a7R V and Sony a9iii) IMO. Great Video, thanks for sharing.

Nice Video, I have the Nikon Zf as well, and find it to be a very capable camera, I couldn't help but to notice the Table-Top stand that's attached to your camera, can you tell me the Brand Name, as this is something I would definitely purchase. Thanks, Jim

Come on, Big Problem??

My only comment on the Nikon ZF, is only “It’s just OK”. Nothing ground breaking, with image quality average with 24 MP sensor. A big “SO WHAT” from me. Nothing epic like the D850. Just my opinion. Also, Nikon eye auto focus still not Sony level. Just saying. Nikon colors, still great.

Good video! The bending on the fan blades shot by the Z6II in movement are due to the focal plane shutter that is not so fast. The curtains moving at 1/8.000 s expose a moving slit that causes the bending even in mechanical shutter. The electronic shutter of the Z9 is faster than the moving curtains of the Z6II.

You can use a piece of tape, or something has friction like rubber. And paste it on the SD card. Then it's easily to take it out. The tape is that kind not so sticky. Maybe used for car painting covering, or in new home appliance to fix accessories. You can search 3M for variety of tapes.

Just got my ZF with the Small Rig L-bracket Today. Just rotate your fingers by 90 degrees and grab the SD card that way. It's a no-brainer. You're really searching for stuff to complain about 😅

hey, great content ! I'm watching your channel from some time and really like it. As nikon shooter may you tell me do you know is there significant difference between nikon z6 ii and nikon zf. I own z6 ii and some S lenses and i need a second body. I look at nikon zf and nikon z8. How is the high iso between these 3 ? I normally don't push it over 8000 on z6ii. I shoot events and street(weddings etc) What's your opinion, in what shuld I invest. In my city there is no psychical store and everything I buy is based on charts and videos on internet. THANK YOU! For the LCD illumination, is there a way to increase the brightness of the LCD on top of the camera? It's so small I have to pull my iPhone out in camera mode to zoom in lol. Much much smaller than the past pro versions and harder to read.

Comparing this with the z8 is nonsense, people that want this camera is because of that look and ergonomics, otherwise, z6,z7,z8

Too expensive the most compelling reason not to upgrade

Yes, the price is high but the payoff is great! I use it primarily for photographing special needs children with my Z9 and need the fast focus and extra image stabilization… these kids move fast. Coming from a D850 with the older 70-200 2.8VR the improvements are incredible. Enjoyed the video and can’t agree with you more about the lens and the silly LED display. Like you, I may have only used it a handful of times and just to check if I’m around either 85 or 105mm.
