I haven't really messed with this extension in a while, what are you having issues with specifically and i'll see if i can help.

@ChowlbPlays so I have overlay expert done on twitch so how do I control it from my ps5 or do I have to be on a computer to control the starting and be right screen

@@bigswole_gamin you can control the scenes via chat commands which you should be able to type in from a phone. You can't really control anything from the PS5 since the overlay isn't really running on the PS5, it's just running in the browser of whoever is watching the stream.

@ChowlbPlays ok I got the follow and sub alert what are some other alerts I should use

@@bigswole_gamin I think those are pretty much the big ones until you're partnered or affiliate. Then you can do 'bit' alerts or whatever. I haven't made it that far so sub and follow are my go to.

I make a lot of my overlays using GIMP or Canva both free. Streamlabs has a few free options as well as Own3d that you can download. If you want highly custom ones you may have to find a designer and pay some money.

If you right click on the vertical scene there is an option to link scenes. You can link a scene to horizontal scene so when you switch to that horizontal scene it will switch to that vertical scene. So right click on the vertical scene and choose link scene.

So you have a separate sound on the alert? I haven’t messed with this in a long while so I’m a little rusty. Does the sound actually upload and just not save on the scene?

@@ChowlbPlays I've figured out the sound the extension on twitch was muted but when I was testing it out I only could get the alert to show up once then I would have to refresh the page for it to show again

@@kingspud2859 sometimes testing your own alert can be inconsistent. Especially if you’re following and unfollowing quickly for testing.

Yes it does use the replay buffer. And in the settings you can set up how long it records the buffer for.

Which banner? with the logo? If it is the logo one I hand drew that and digitized it in GIMP.

@@randomlyposted886 you may need to disable and re enable the extension. Do you see the extension back on the side of your stream when live?

Yeah it’ll be pretty rough. Mainly the upload on the stream itself. Wireless just doesn’t really have that kinda headroom for uploading a constant stream to twitch or UA-cam.

Hey! Check the toolbar for the ‘Docks’ menu. The vertical dock should be in there and it’s more than likely unchecked. Just click it to recheck it and it should pop back up.

@@JamalMitchellJr so you can actually use two accounts and still play on the TV without being disconnected. You set up a dummy second account that you use to connect the remote play session. Then when you go back to the PlayStation you can sign in with your real account and the dummy account will keep streaming the remote play without kicking you. That way you can still play on whatever local tv you have instead of the remote play window. I haven’t done it but there are tons of videos on how to set it up.

I believe you can. I didn’t try it but it’s worth a shot for sure. You could also resort to Spotify on your console with the brb screen.

Are you using game or window capture? You can also check your windows 'Graphics Settings' where you can set which GPU to use for OBS. In the windows search just type in graphics settings, browse to your OBS64.exe and then you can make sure it's using the correct GPU. Also on window and i believe you can choose Windows 10 1903 and above in the capture method. see if those resolve anything for you. Also if you’re on a Mac you’ll need to grant permission for obs to record your screen.

I’m using window capture. There are three options for the gpu which are let windows decide, power saving and then high performance. I have it on high performance but I’ve tried it on all.

if you hit your 'windows' key on your keyboard to pull up search and type in Graphics Settings, then click on 'Choose an app to set preference' and browse to the obs exectuable. Usually under C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe and then click on options once you've selected it. From there you will see a 'graphics preference' dialog box and it should have a few options. Since you're on a laptop you probably have a dedicated GPU and the integrated GPU, make sure you're using the dedicated GPU, your NVidia card or your AMD card. It's probably under 'High Performance'. That forces OBS to use the dedicated graphics card which is the same card that is running the remote play. Most laptops have two cards and if OBS is running on one and remote play on the other, they won't work since they're separated. This allows them both to run on the same hardware and 'should' fix your black screen problem. Check the settings in the remote play application. There should be an area for the input microphone and make sure it’s set to whatever mic you’re using on the pc. Then in the PS settings go to your devices and check the mic there and it should say remote audio device or something similar.

In the PlayStation or ohs?

@@E70KXgamingYT ​​⁠PlayStation settings. Check the mic there but do it through remote play. Remote play should send your mic audio from the pc to the PlayStation. Also check the remote play application settings for the input device.

How so? It uses completely different settings than the normal stream. Is there an error?

@@ChowlbPlays lol my upload bitrate remains at 0 when I have it installed. Oh well, maybe a future version won't give me that issue.

@@HNARCS what is your regular setting bitrate set to? And what is your vertical settings bitrate set to?

Can you use it for a virtual cam?

@@Acyoade-i4v ​​⁠yes you can. That’s the other button. The yellow square with the cam on it starts the virtual camera.

Check the docks menu on the toolbar and see if it’s unchecked in there. That may be the issue.

@@ZuesFromEastSide it’s been a while since I’ve messed with overlay expert but it should just be a layer type. If you need to put in a url you can or I think you can upload the files as well.

@@swankdakid is your ps4 and pc hard wired to the router? There was some talk about auto resolution in the newer updates of remote play as well.

so sorry this is so late! i didn't get a notification of a comment. Your headset needs to be plugged into the PC for the audio to work. In OBS when you set up your audio device you need to make sure it's set to the headset, so in essence it's capturing any audio that's going to the headset/headphones. In OBS go to settings and audio and look at your audio devices and your headset should be in the list if it's plugged into the PC.

@@ChowlbPlays hey so i tried this method and it works fine...well somewhat, you see when i have a pc that runs windows 11 home and for some reason whenever i open remote play and get my ps4 linked and ready, it will only recognize my keyboard as a controller instead. now i want to use my ps4 controller but when i connected it it my pc by usb cable and try to use it, it will tell me that i lost connection and unlink from my ps4 i was hoping you can respond to this comment and make a tutorial on how to fix this issue please

@@evanthetailedbeast you can go to your ps4 devices and controllers and unsync your controller. It seems like it’s still being synced and logging in to the ps4 so that kicks you off of remote play.

@@ChowlbPlays ok so i unsync my controller and tried connecting it to usb on my pc but it still registered my keyboard instead of the controller, i don't know if you did something else to the pc so it can work but i think me and possibly others who are having the same problem as me may need a video on how to fix this issue

@@evanthetailedbeast Can you try another usb-c cable. Apparently some usb-c cables will only charge the controller but not send that controller data back to the pc. This video is fairly old and I don't have my ps4 connected anymore to test anything out. I would also check for any windows updates or remote play updates. The drivers should be included in windows 11 so you shouldn't need to download any drivers. I'm also not sure how to make mine fail to show how to fix it.

An you uninstall and reinstall the extension on your extension page? Also make sure you’re checking on a browser and not on mobile. The extensions will not work on mobile.

@@ChowlbPlays I think window capture because it pops ups, unlike game. I think I'll get a better laptop tho. But I'll try when I do :)

It’s not baked into the stream and it doesn’t feed back into the console so it’s only available overlaying on the stream.

Yes it will need to double encode since your canvas sizes and sources are different. If you're streaming to both vertical and horizontal it will double the bandwidth as well.

You can either buy or make them. I think there was a link in the description to get you started with a simple overlay.
