When doing a scan on that boss Evri on the airship, the poison breath happens if you repeatedly attack every turn. You can pull the ship back, use Wakka to hit or use items as well but that might be slower.

X-2 honestly has my fave combat of any RPG. I know people say FF5 perfected the job system but this game perfected the job system. They definitely won’t but if they do X-3 I hope they keep this job system and expand and alter it to fit the other characters and new story.

I’m shocked that omega is thought to be harder than chronodia in the psp version as it’s easily the most difficult on a casual run. I was about level 50 when I fought it and it’s regular attack one shot me every time. Although now that I think about it the run probably faces the weakest version of it and not the strongest so that makes more sense.

9:30 The zombie status in various FFs work that way too, but some of them make it so you lose control of that character as well.

IIRC Fast/haste doesn't increase action speed but hit rate giving more attacks from the fight command, it doesn't get it's expected effect until Final Fantasy IV.

I have only played 4 on the ds and its one of my favorite FF games. The graphics look amazing, i love how cecil and rosa look especially, I love the sheer difficulty of it. Even normal mob fights feel like a real challenge. Bosses feel like a genuine threat… The game was simply too hard for me as a teen and i had to set it down for almost a decade. Years later i retried and when i got to the final boss i realized my team wasnt good enough ability wise and i restarted from the beginning. I eventually beat him and it was one crazy battle. Though i was a bit salty from having to restart, i feel like i truly mastered this game in a way. Probably one of the best “turn by turn” games ive ever tried… also i like how your party actually changes around quite a bit, but Cecil is always there so it’s basically through his POV. check out rabtoons “FF4 in a nutshell” for a funny recap (also the harder a game is, the more valuable a healer role is and let me tell you i dont think i could have beat this game without Rosa….)

Watching Rivers Any% no64 in less than 3 was pretty special.

If it's the DS version I would guess it's the CPU since it can just instant win before you get an action

i am not a runner, but i had to try tsuna skip (guard skip?) from 7 when i found out about it. very rewarding to pull off. half tempted to run the game but... it's just too long. don't have the stamina to run ff games i reckon.

Correction: Valefor always charges a 2nd overdrive for Sinspawn Geneaux but the fight is different (we use fire 4x after instead while charging OD for Gui), we charge Valefor Overdrive before the fight in Kilika which is inconsistent due to the fights you can pick being random. Now, we charge Overdrive on Sin due to Energy Ray having a much lower damage output but gives us an ample window to charge overdrive more consistently which the danger being a small chance of valefor dying due to damage output issues.

This is one of my favourite games of all time and this was still the first time I found out about being able to make Squall do different moves in that cutscene, it’s insane how many tiny but fun details there are in this game

I remember the first time I played this game. I was like 9 and I skipped over the sphere grid tutorial and didn't know how to use it. I got all the way to the machina shoopuf battle on the moonflow before I got stuck. I remember grinding and not understanding why I didn't get any stronger

my favorite character in ffx is lulu for obvious reasons. but I would use tidus in wakka if they didn't have annoying as fuck celestial weapon requirements. tidus with the utter shit chocobo race and wakka for blitzball. blitzball is shit not due to the game itself but the fact that its literally coded to be against you. i don't mean your team as you can hire good players. i mean the game itself is against you. for example if you are being chased when you have the ball and the team is on you then it near instantly activates to pull you into the blocking mechanic. but when you are doing the chasing you could be running into the guy and flat out touching him and he could swim like half the map before you stop him. then you have the blocking shooting and breaking. it should be if you have lets say 10 block and they have 8 shoot. 100% you should block and grab the ball but nah lets make the numbers pointless by using RNG so that guy with 3 block can block your 10 shoot kick. stuff like that is why I hate blitzball. the game itself isn't difficult. get 1 goal ahead and swim behind your goalie and win the game. for the chocobo race its a similar thing. your chocobo does not listen to you. this is due to how the controls work. its set up for still only use the D pad and not the analog stick. this was never updated and fixed in the remaster. they should have fixed and polished a lot of stuff for those. so my go to is usually yuna kimari aron or riku. riku and yuna is almost always a yes with Aaron and kimari switching if needed.
