#530 It's Snow Bird Season. Running Back and Forth to Florida
I learned to keep the window lock switch turned on. Driving down the road and heard a ruckus from the back seat. Seems one of my boxers stepped on the window switch while her head was out the window. Thankfully the driver's switch overrides the other switches and I was able to free her. I also learned not to leave the windows down enough for them to get out - one of them climbed out the window of my Peterbilt when it was only open about 10 inches. That's a long way to the ground!
Best decision I made was backing away from the long hauls and staying semi local it’s crazy that wrecks, repos & tow-aways are paying more than the enclosed market
I've been a driver for 29 years now and now gett8ing my own authority for our small business and have been watching your videos, you are 1 of the smart people on u tube do what you have to man God bless you and yours you ll be ok
Hoping you will share your experience traveling to Cali. It sounds like it would be a great trip.
Don't know if you've serviced your transmission before but if you did back when it overheated & you added the Mishimoto cooler you really don't need to go in and change the filter again. Just drain the pan and yours should have a drain on the converter si I'd suggest draining that too.
Saw you yesterday on 295 in Maryland going North 💪🏾
I need help: Looking to lease on to a hotshot company... I can use my truck or drive a company truck.. I need to get out of the house
I seen you on 22 yesterday. Next time your around altoona and got time. Take you to some good food spots
Taking a break while mounting 8 semi tires. 4 drives for my Pete and 4 trailer tires for the 53' flat I just bought. Quite the workout to save me over $500, but since the wheels aren't rolling I'm not earning.
Sometimes i wish you’d bought a crew cab not the single cab….
Me too. Everyday
That is called a f CK up😂😂😂😂
2006 has got to be the best years I got 33 mpg in mine
I agree completely, I would not buy a 19 or newer. I had a 2012 and put over 600,000 on it.
Seems like the kinda guy that rides around on weekends with a 30ft deckover loaded down with 4 mud quads 😂.
His Tube channel has kept his mechanic paid in full. Yeah they're million mile motors but with heavy expenses involved on repairs. That's any deisel engine. This guys recording his truck with a camera that costs nore than your daily. He doesn't get normal people he just wants to feel normal
Huh
Sending it to Michigan to apply the appropriate amount of rust...
Why did you make this video? Be honest with yourself. Nothing wrong with Hotshot you just don't want to be on the road so much. So it's a personal video that does not serve the public as there is no info in here that will help the drivers at large. It's just you being sad about being on the road. Why did you make this video? Looking for confirmation? Looking for Affirmation? What is it you look to seek from making a video like this. I was hoping there would be some insight into Hotshot and what's wrong with it and why you are considering leaving but all it is, is that you don't like being on the road. Well boo feking hoo, grow a sack, it doesn't need a video and a bunch of people telling you what a brave strong girl you are. Just quit. Now if you have any content that is useful to the world at large re Hotshot trucking please do re post. Other than that you can keep all your namby pamby bs and yes this was 100% totally clickbait if you give a chit about anything more than this person in the singular as it has F all to do with hotshot. The only reason he tells you it's not clickbait is because this person feels like you knowing why they want to quit is important and important to the world at large. This video is pretty much the definition of click bait. He gets you to watch something you would not watch if the title was honest. Would you watch a video called "I winge about being on the road all the time and am thinking of quitting hotshot" I wouldn't so yes, this is 100% click bait and nothing more than a man child that can't handle it. Title should be "Watch as a man child winges".
What size tank's are those
You hit the nail on the head you got the freedom so continue doing hotshot just get your finances Straight that way you can work less and be home more plus running local. You got this.
I make Morton money by lunch on most Mondays then my buddies make all week with $30 an hour to $40 an hour jobs
Trucking or hotshot or any of that is just a complete mess and it’s always going to be full of problems. I discovered what I call America’s best kept secret about 10 years ago. Every since then I’ve been making $30,000-$40,000 a month. My total expenses are less than $20,000. I work whenever I want, which is usually Monday through Friday during the day. sounds too good to be true but it’s not. About 10 years ago somebody said two words to me that changed my life for good
Another braindead driver. Its so hard to find qualified people. We had 3 crashes in less than two months
You're a smart guy, and will find a way to get back to where you want to be. I thought those customized trucks delivery was going to be your ticket to stay home more. Maybe a back yard mechanic with a side of hotshot? You'll figure it out.
I have been in your position many times I keep falling into the business owner trap of working 24/7 to make the most money. Try to find a schedule and routes that work for you. What I do is one week I'll do 4 days running then take off fri, sat, sun then I'll do 3 days of running then Thursday's for truck maintenance and I take off fri, sat, sun then repeat. In my opinion there's no need to be home every night then all you do while home is sleep. But thats me.
Thank God that didn't happen while having to go to NC to bring my son home from Fort Liberty.
I feel your pain. I ran freight and cars and then crossed into the travel trailer world. This year has been a shit show. Blew my motor in June, long story short, it was break down after break down AFTER getting the truck back from the dealer, from injectors to the CP4 to the fuel pressure regulator, you name it, it probably blew up this year. Not to mention, the damn insurance decided to hit me with 2 increases at the same time when it renewed last month. I was on the verge of calling it quits, but honestly nothing beats being your own boss.
Don't matter pto was engaged rpms made it come up chains on the nose he left the pto on
On the plus side... The driver got to make a few extra bucks hauling what was left of the sign to the scrapyard...😅 ..
Unbelievable when he dumped left pto on or it didn't kick ot because air issues rpms made it happen.
Yeah... Well.... I told the DOT that those magnetic road signs were a bad idea....😅
Roadbed was obviously WAY to high....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No it's a pto. Switch problem no shut off senor he left it in pto when he used the clutch it raised.
At least the cab made a speedy exit. 😊
Well the folks in Northeast Ohio is going to be happy thats a mac trailer. Most likely built in alliance Ohio. Shows how tough those things are made.
They want to get into hotshot and the only experience they have is with towing their cars home when they break down so they think car hauling is easy. Saw a wedge today with a single single axle cargo trailer loaded facing backwards... and yep, you guessed it - it was up at the front where it can catch the most wind and flip the trailer on a turn.
Looks like Kamalas infrastructure bill Is working as planned 🙄
When you forget to drop the dump body... Yep! Happens more often than anyone realizes, especially with the shorter dump trucks delivering to interstate road construction projects.
The scale must have been closed and no one in it. Because if it were open and a cops were there, this would not have happened.
Hey Mr. George, how much you pay the new guy? $12? No no Mr. George, you paid him too much!
Ur stupid
It's twenty not twelve.
@@DavidClark-vu3dw You're right... been a little while since I saw a Mr. George video.
@@2020HotShotTruckingLLC same here. 😄
Well that's not good.
They say there's only 2 types of dump trailer drivers. Ones that flopped one over and ones that are going to flop one over. I'm not sure what this counts as. It's not flopped but it's fkd
Apparently nobody knows what an end dump trailer is. That dude obviously was driving with the trailer lifted
Ur stupid.
Oh no.
Rollback🤙
Fired
I'd be applying at your father-in-law's company
Yip Yap Central dispatch. More than half of them don't even have insurance.
Exactly lol
I quit doing it after 13 years. Between insurance and low rates and high fuel costs it wasn’t worth it, and yes being home was much better on our family. I opened a small car dealership and I just buy and sell cars online I use backlot and acv to sell them. I make as much and work from home and use the lot garage to hold my license and detail the cars and pickups. Much better life.
When it is your own business and you are the only one, unfortunately it is 24/7. No one will work as hard as you at your business. This is a very expensive profession. Trucks, equipment, fuel, insurance and your time out of the house away from home is also a cost to you and your family. I would add 10% to all your business work. Sorry guys but you have costs. If you increase all your work 10% across the board and lose 20% of the work you will be ahead of the game.
I hope you study on it hard and talk with the wife about it. I have been uplifted by your video's and was considering retiring early next year, buying a enclosed or multi car trailer and working under your supervision moving vehicles as I have no family and believe I would enjoy that in retirement. I know its tuff at this time. Several truckers I watch on here are struggling with keeping work. I hope whatever you decide Is best for you and your family and you make as many memories as you can with the kids!!! All those "first times" are only "first"... times.
