Your truck has an exhaust back pressure valve that can be used as an exhaust brake. You will have to add some wiring to lock the torque converter so it will be effective.
@@jason_kendall I just Googled it - it's a separate valve you install inline. You still will need to wire up a switch to lock your torque converter. As you go down a steep hill and downshift, your torque converter will unlock and coast unless you keep your foot on the throttle a little. When I finally get time, I will assemble the 7.3 I'm building and install it in my daily driver along with a six speed. I'll wire up the exhaust back pressure valve when I do it. I absolutely LOVE the jake brakes on my Peterbilt!!! The exhaust brake isn't as good as real jakes, but certainly better than nothing.
