it took me almost two weeks to forge my 15" Kukuri knife out of an old DAF 8 tons truck leaf spring. With rat tail tang, a 5" long Tropica Letter or snakewood handle.

As a Marine during the VN War I ended up in the Philippine jungle. The Philippine instructors sold us Kukuri survival knives made from the leaf spring of a Ford for $5. I still have it. I've used it for all kinds of tasks over the past 50 years. It is not a pretty knife, but it is a beast!

Well young man I don't know the process of making a knife but I can see that your knife has a harmony in its extensions and the handle is correctly positioned with the imaginary axis of the blade. This to me shows that your knife is a proper and harmonious tool.

Excellent knife, you made it alot like how i used to make them when i was making em. I really like the woods grain for the handle, what kind of wood was it if you know?

Your using the wrong part of your blade when chopping use the more forward part ,big surprise

Im going to try to pour a bolster maybe into cuttlefish. Will make a copy of the tang in steel hopefully to avoid as much drilling and filing later.

Try relax the back of knife after quenching with fire tempering, I'm not sure this blade can handle an accidental drop on the concrete floor
