🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 It is so wonderful to hear you tell these stories - Thank you. 🌷 I think about how priests in the catholic church used to insist on using Latin, even when the majority of people didn't understand this. It seems to be about control and ungenerosity. This story helps us to scrutinise our own motives when we are reluctant to share information, knowledge and kindness to retain some level of 'upper hand' against others. With all my devotion and gratitude always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 It is so true that should we approach God with the same desire that we sometimes attach to either people or even material things, we would have an enthusiasm and a fervour that surely would allow us to reach self-realisation very quickly. It is worth examining WHAT am I actually desperate for and, in doing so, seeing where my heart is. When I can identify where my desires are, I can also work on diffusing such attachments and see through them for what they are. What do I expect from this desire? What is it honestly I am after? So many of our desires serve, when satisfied, to rub our ego in some way. If we can do that, identify the true intention behind the desire, they become like the proverbial troll that pop when the sun shines on them. They lose their hold over us. How wonderful the part of Tulsidas desire to see Lord Rama is, and what a lovely reminder that we shouldn't expect God to appear according to our expectations. We could always be in the presence of God, in fact we are always in the presence of God and should be mindful of this. Everything that happens, everyone we meet is, as someone else said, a message from the Beloved. Jai Gurudev! Jai Sri Krishna! 🏵🏵🏵 With all my devotion and gratitude always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 It's wonderful to listen to these stories. It's true that life can change very quickly and how easy it is to take our health and vigour for granted and squander time. It's a poignant reminder that things can happen and we should make the most of this opportunity while we can. Jai Gurudev! Om Tat Sat 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams, Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 It is really useful to have different ways of using pranayama when meditating upon each chakra. I struggle with pranayama as one nostril is usually blocked which makes it difficult to inhale through that nostril efficiently. Which nostril is blocked varies, as discussed in a different Satsang. Following the 1:4:2, or 2:8:4 becomes a challenge as I can't get enough 'breath'' through the blocked nostril to sustain the rhythm. I'm not sure what the answer is... With all my devotion and gratitude. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Wonderful explanations and I particularly find the link with Saraswati so lovely as I love language and poetry. 🙏 I did think about the double-sided nature of water when I listened to part 16 yesterday - the way water can save and sustain our lives, but if we're not careful we can also drown in it! The nature of water is, obviously, fluid. If our thoughts and desires become too 'fluid' and want to escape in all little crevices (like water does) then our spiritual progress will be hampered. If we can control our thoughts and desires (which interestingly was something I was contemplating in my meditation this morning) we can promote our spiritual progress. Hari Om Tat Sat With all my devotion and gratitude, always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 A wonderful introduction to this chakra. Water is such an interesting element that we associate so much with different aspects of spirituality. Water quenches our thirst just like we strive to have our 'spiritual thirst' quenched by meditation, Satsangs, teachings etc. Water cleanses and purifies, just like we are trying to purify ourselves on this path. Water is very powerful - we can drown, or be swept away by its current. One has to have respect for such an element! I like Yogini ji's reflection on the flow of water and, indeed, on the flow of everything in the transient world. It flows. It changes. It takes different pathways. Just like everything does in this illusory world we live in. We consist of 70% water, our bodies I mean. I look forward to the next part, which I'll listen to now... With all my devotion and gratitude, always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Again, a wonderful meditative poem which really connects me with our beautiful Earth. All the things she witnesses, all our sorrows and our joy. The reverence for the tiniest insects and worms. It really brings home how small we are, and how generous Mother Earth is to us and how we should honour her and all her gifts. It is awe-inspiring and I will use this again, like the reflection in part 14, for future meditations. With devotion and gratitude always. 🌼🌷🌼

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 What a beautiful poem and meditation. I can really feel the depth of his meditation. It's very powerful and certainly brings home how we, as humans, abuse the Earth, fighting over land, trying to own plots of it, stake territories and so on. The resources of the Earth can't be claimed. It really is such a ludicrous concept when you think about it. This is a lovely meditation which I think I will return to and use regularly to connect with the Earth element. With all my devotion and gratitude always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 This is interesting - yesterday when I was 'connecting' with the different chakras during my meditation, the sensation I had when focussing on this chakra was a bit different. I found that I didn't 'feel' anything here. I remember wondering if a chakra imbalance would be experienced like this. I kind of felt that I struggled to connect with this chakra - I found it much easier to focus energy further up in the Ayna chakra, Anahata chakra and the Sahasrara chakra. The only one I didn't feel I connected as well with further up was Vishudda chakra. I'm sure we will learn about this as well. With gratitude and devotion always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

Particularly variation 2, where you focus on, and visualise, how Kundalini is moving up through all the chakras and then down again, require a lot of practise, I think. I can imagine (I've only used the basic technique until now) that it really will help control the mind as you have to really focus on what you are doing and not let your thoughts just wander... I will contact you via Whatsapp with a question regarding this. With gratitude and devotion as always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

My meditation is also benefitting from this very much. I am so grateful I am off work currently so I can put all this into practice. I have often wondered about the physical reason why I very rarely breathe equally through both nostrils. This all makes perfect sense. Breathing techniques are so popular in Western counselling when it comes to management of anxiety and stress. Here we have the origin of these wonderful techniques and the full, spiritual meaning of them. I look forward very much to part 9. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. 🏵🏵🏵 With all my gratitude and devotion. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 How packed with information and mystical symbolism and images this is! What wonderful and profound understanding you are sharing with us. Thank you! 🏵 So, I am trying to summarise this for my own benefit - please, if you read this and spot any misconception, please would you guide me? At the base of our spine - the Muladhara chakra, Shakti energy is dormant until we are spiritually awakened. Shiva has entered the creation as Jiva - the individual Soul, our sentient being. So does that mean that our sentient part of our being, our Consciousness and our soul is Shiva? This Jiva is then supported by the inseparable energy, Shakti, which is manifesting all forms of the world to support the Soul/Jiva/Shiva to evolve. I find your explanation of the Soul entering this world as the dreamer 'entering' her dream - it's all just an illusion, very helpful. Jiva isn't really entering into this world of forms and names, it's just an illusion and once the Jiva understands it's inseparability with Shiva, she has woken up from this illusion. I have often been woken up by my own dream with a loud sound - what a very useful allegory to explain how the illusion we are in can support our self-realisation. So, Shakti - residing in our Muladhara chakra, is longing to reach Shiva, who is residing in our Sahasrara chakra and equally Shiva is longing to merge with Shakti - so reaches down to pull Shakti up. This 'reaching down' is God's grace - and we know that Guru is God and by the grace of Guru, the Divine is offering us a hand to help us. When Shakti reaches Shiva - we are enlightened and the Jiva realises it is Shiva. It's a beautiful way of seeing these energies, inseparable, reaching for each other in our astral bodies, and the inseparable God and Guru. Simply wonderful. With all my devotion and gratitude always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 This required a little more reading. From what I understand these 5 elements are all representing different aspects of our world. Ether (Akash/Paramesvara?) - Represents that in which everything is contained, the space in which everything takes place. Eternal sky that can only be observed by hearing. Air - representing God Vayu and Hanuman, movement. You can hear and feel the air. It is linked to our respiratory system. Fire - representing Gods Agni and Shiva, represents transformation. Lord Shiva is holding a small flame in one of his hands which represents both destruction and creation. Vedic text recommend us to gaze at the lamp, at the sunrise and sunset. Linked to our digestive system. Water - representing Gods Varuna and Vishnu, preservation. Water can be felt, seen, heard, touched and tasted and has a relationship with these four senses. Water represents the liquid form/state of matter and is responsible for the fluid metabolism in the body. Earth - representing Goddess Bhudevi and Parvati - creation, Mother Nature. Represents the solid state of matter, responsible for the physical constitution of the body. All these elements are part of the divine and the divine is in all these elements. I contemplate how all these elements support us daily - Ether gives us a space to live in, surrounds us and is everywhere. Just like God. Air - we breathe it and without it we would not survive. Water - we use it to cleanse ourselves, water from Mother Ganga, water to quench our thirst, to purify us. Earth - Mata Parvati, Mother Earth - supporting our physical existence, carrying us everyday, life-giver, feeding us from her abundance. Giving us all the beauty of nature. Fire - gives us warmth and light, also purifying. Ultimately, flames will consume our bodies when we die. So many reasons to revere these elements, so fundamental to our existence. With so much gratitude and devotion. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

I used to chant my mantra vocally, but nowadays I mainly do this mentally - I wonder if it is better to actually chant than doing it silently? Also, I wonder if I should go through the sounds of each mantra regularly, or focus on one at a time? I will write to you about this as you're travelling at the moment. This is such a treasure chest which is opening up for me - truly wonderful! Thank you so much. With my devotion and gratitude, as always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 I completely agree with Yogini ji's sentiment - how wonderful to gain some real understanding of Kundalini after years and years of pseudo-information about these concepts. Gosh, I wish I had known this earlier. So by focus our mind on our Agya chakra, we can increase the flow of energy in this area? I really look forward to a deeper understanding of how to support the flow of Prana and how to open up these chakras. It's such beautiful images we are given as well, the Lotuses drooping downwards and then turning up and opening when the energy flows, the three holy rivers that flows from Muladhara and meet at the Agya chakra. This is a sacred, mystical science! With devotion and gratitude, always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 I am so glad you mentioned this playlist in Satsang the other day - such interesting information. Of course I have heard of Kundalini and the chakras, as you said, this is often misinterpreted and taught during a short session of meditation in the West. I am reminded of when I was only a child and borrowed a book at the library 'Hatha Yoga' - I have NO idea what inspired me at the time (well, I do know what inspired me actually), I can only have been around 11-12 and hadn't had any contact with yoga or meditation before. As I progress on this path I find that I've had many little nudges through life that has led me here. How grateful I am. This is so interesting - in my ignorance I have thought that Prana is just our breathing. This is a beautiful concept and I look forward to listening through this. I find it particularly fascinating how Prana is linked to our experience of faith. When Prana is increased we also experience a more dynamic faith. I am looking forward to learning how we can increase our Prana. With devotion and gratitude, always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

Humble prostrations Guruji, shubh prabhaat 🙏☀️🙏 These are very interesting shlokas. I’ve always been interested in learning more about why Lord Shiva has suggested various textiles to sit upon when chanting, and the ones to avoid. The science behind it is intriguing, and I know there was so much scientific reasoning, beyond our limited understanding, behind much of the things done during that time. It makes sense that one would want to conduct and build up energy within, rather than it being pulled away from us. For ones who may be interested in chanting the Guru Gita daily, would the chanting be of the entirety of the scripture? Or should it be done daily how we currently are doing it, a few shlokas at a time? This Guru Gita is a beautiful scripture, and always feels like we’ve been let in on such an intimate conversation between Lord Shiva and Ma Parvati. Such deep and thoughtful questions are being answered by Lord Shiva to help us all towards Liberation, towards union with God. It’s a very beautiful thing. Om Tat Sat 🙏🕉🌹🦋🪔🪷

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 I really enjoyed the horse and rider analogy. It made me think of how we can deal with anxiety, stress or fear. Fear, unless as a response to a real event or crises, can be a response to what we think. If I worry about future events I think about different scenarios which may cause me distress. My breathing and heartrate will increase. If I control my thoughts and rein them in, my breathing will also slow down and become more efficient. If I bring my breathing under control, this is my main focus and the thoughts will also settle. So, it's the same as the analogy - we can either ask the rider to stop, or grab hold of the horse. Wonderful! Divine blessings, gratitude and devotion always. 🙏 🌼🌷🌼

Humble prostrations and adorations Guruji 🙏 Ma Parvati has definitely done the world a huge service by posing all these questions to Lord Shiva, for the benefit of all. The divine qualities which one develops on the spiritual path is once again focused on, that we should have devotion and sincerity. The scriptures should touch our heart and bring tears to our eyes. Lord Shiva is making things so simple for us, and there is no need for such complexities. What matters most is our intentions and devotion. The wisdom of the highest is that wisdom which only comes intuitively, through absolute surrender, selflessness, devotion, love, and purity. It is the wisdom that is experienced. It is not intellectual knowledge from paper pages or words spoken by ones trapped in the illusoriness of the worldly objects and demoniac qualities. That type of knowledge is surface level and not the deep essence which is revealed to few. The wise = a wise man has gone beyond the ego and selfish motives and performs actions for the benefit of humanity. The wise do not perform actions for selfish gains or pleasures. They are not attached to the fruits of actions or immersed in worldliness and illusions. They see the truth, they speak only the truth, they love all and they serve all. Recitation of the Guru Gita with pure love and devotion is profoundly auspicious to not just the devotees, but to all. The Guru has the highest place in our heart and in our mind. Through Guru we know God. Through Guru, we are pulled from darkness to light. Through Guru, we learn to build a strong and steady boat to take us to the shores of liberation. Through Guru we learn to navigate the colossal waves of life without drowning. There is no other like you Guru. With all my devotion, I will always be a spec of dust at your lotus feet. Om Shree Gurudev Namaha. Om Shree Shivaya Namaha. Om Tat Sat 🙏🕉🌹🦋🪔🪷

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐 These shlokas, and your narration, have really made me reflect upon my spiritual progress. Or, rather, today's Satsang has made me wonder how I can evaluate my progress without the ego and the intellect getting involved. There are some very poignant statements: - we shouldn't listen to, or read, Guru Gita only as an intellectual exercise - it must be with devotion and purity - Guru Gita should change us, otherwise what is the point? - we should become real flowers, not paper-flowers without any scent So, how can we evaluate if we are moving in the right direction? How can I know that I am changing? I am asking these question rhetorically... I think no-one else can answer them, but today's Satsang has really made me think about this. A truly wonderful spiritual snack, Baba ji. 🌼🌼🌼 With devotion and gratitude, eternally. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

Humble prostrations Guruji, divine blessings 🙏☀️ Beautiful shlokas. I like #123 and how Lord Shiva says to see ourselves in all and become one with all. Everything that we visually see with our eyeballs is sustained by God. The trees, bees, birds, flowers, animals, water, and so on and so on. Technically, even the table I’m using and the paper I write on is sustained by God. It all comes down to the same elements, in which all of the elements are sustained by particles which are sustained by the essence of God. This essence, this form, has taken on a multitude of manifestations due to varying amounts of said particles and how they behave. God particles + shakti = manifestations that are animate and inanimate. We are one with everything because our source is the same. We are all just varying forms. Guru’s grace can most definitely change the life of a sincere devotee. The simple life and developing vairagya comes with Guru’s grace. I remember how much I loved shopping and buying clothes and I used to think that made me happy 😂 little did I know at the time! That attachment to shopping for worldly objects actually was bringing me so much pain and misery. The “happiness” from the worldly objects was temporary and fleeting, which meant it was not true happiness. Now, I rarely shop and if I do it’s mostly just household necessities like cleaning products or refilling bathroom soaps, or purchasing things the teenager needs or gifts. Definitely more practical use. By Gurus grace, your grace, my life has sincerely gotten more peaceful and having more contentment. Question: I do sometimes have to be mindful of my facial expressions though 🤔 I’ve been told that my facial expressions can come off as ungrateful when I’ve been gifted something because I don’t appear to be very excited. What does one do in this situation? Although I am grateful, should I try smiling more? Would that be considered not sincere? My lack of facial expressions of excitement is probably due to how much I’m in solitude. I don’t interact with many people in person. Dhanyavaad Guruji, Om Tat Sat 🙏🕉🌹🦋🪔

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Wow, these shlokas really pack a lot of nutrients into our snack! The highest principle - to see yourself in everyone and everything. This reminds me of ahimsa. Not only do we not to inflict harm on any OTHER living thing that us, we can also consider not inflicting harm to OURSELVES. If we see ourselves in everyone and everything, we want to serve and love them and not harm them. We instantly want to to our best for them. Our hearts will be open to them. We will be more able to forgive and have a willingness to understand others. All souls are living according to their dharma, what is in their nature. We can only reach this principle, to see ourselves in everyone, with Guru's grace. With regards to money and wanting things - I found this such a wonderful explanation. We can live very comfortably and gain 'worldly peace' (being in some state of material security, having a house, modern material objects, clothes, being able to buy whatever food we like etc) but, although this gives us a sense of well-being on a material level, it does not equate to spiritual peace. If all those material comforts/objects were removed, we would no longer be content. Looking at it from the other side, HAVING all those things does not make us 'un-spiritual'. We can still have comforts, a house etc, but the focus is not on the objects. If we have spiritual peace we don't need to be attached to these objects, so if we lost something, or a lot of things we would still have our spiritual peace. We are, though, advised to live simply - not to have too much. I suppose the less we 'own', the less we have to lose. It was very helpful to me how you explained that wanting something isn't in itself the problem - the problem comes, as you say, when we become discontented. We should always be grateful for what we have and look after what we have been blessed with. 🙏 With my sincere gratitude and devotion always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

Humble prostrations Guruji, adorations 🙏🙏 Very deep and informative shlokas from both Lord Shiva and Ma Parvati. It also highlights the importance of needing a Guru on this holy journey. One, to even know about all the various scriptures and which ones to read and study. And two, because of needing the explanations of them which point to the necessary requirements and qualifications on this path. For one whose goal in life is Liberation, the kundalini shakti must be awakened within them. Kundalini awakening is a whole study and practice in itself which takes commitment and time. It does not happen by attending one class at a yoga studio or one yoga seminar. (That would just be westernized marketing tactics). One must also have sense-control which also takes commitment and time. Via sense control, we are able to purify ourselves and clean off that mirror within to eventually reflect our true Self. You cannot see yourself clearly in a dirty mirror. So there is a variety of purification exercises to choose from and begin working on. The spontaneity of the Hamsa mantra can only be heard and felt through purification. There must be no distractions, no pulling from the external world and surroundings, no monkey mind. This reminds me of a devotional song I grew up with where part of it says “in the secret, in the quiet place, in the stillness You are there. In the secret, in the quiet hour I wait only for You, I want to know You more.” To know God, to feel God, to touch God, we must have a stillness to the senses. The quiet hour of Brahma Mahurta is the best time to practice meditation because there is no noise and distractions of the day yet. The more purification, the ‘easier’ to connect with Guru and God who are one and the same. When a devotee resonates at the same frequency as Guru, they will intuitively know. A connection beyond all words and expressions. It is mystical and divine. May all sadhaks have a fruitful journey on this path to liberation and may Gurus blessings cover us all. Om Tat Sat 🙏🕉🌹🦋🪔🔱

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Thank you for a wonderful explanation of these shlokas. We are given so many beautiful analogies to help our mind understand Guru, God and Consciousness which otherwise is without form or attributes. God resides in stones, mountains, rivers and in us. We can picture our Consciousness as a clear crystal - which we have to strive to make clear, to purify and polish the dust off. We can picture Atman as a flame within us. As God is beyond space, time and form these are very useful images. It is very profound to contemplate that we can observe our Consciousness as this clear crystal, reflected in a mirror. It is up to us to keep the mirror clean and to foster good qualities. If we do, we should experience bliss, joy and peace. This is so true - when we make the wrong choices, act in a way that isn't pure, it disturbs the surface of the mirror like ripples on a lake and the reflections become distorted and blurry. We want stillness and a pure life should allow this to happen. Attending Satsang, follow Guru's teachings, meditating, do seva. And there is God - in the tiny flame, in the Crystal, in nature (Parvati, Mother Nature), in the river, beyond time and space and in everything. And Guru is the embodiment of all this. Residing in the Lotus of our Sahasrara, in the flame. Everything in nature has its own Dharma and God's Dharma is to be eternal. Om Namah Shivaya. Jai Gurudev! Humble prostrations Guruji 🙏🙏 I really like the point being made to be truthful to our Guru and to not be disrespectful. The Guru can most definitely see through our egoistic armor we may put up. Guru is beyond the three Gunas, and can absolutely tell which one(s) are dominant in our personalities. This knowledge, and knowledge of karma, leads to the Guru understanding our current situations or challenges. Whatever we may be going through. He sees our past, he sees our present, and he sees our future. The qualities we have signal to him what needs to be worked on. Because all of this varies person to person, it is also why the Guru prescribes different practices to each person. It is customized for our own evolution. What helps one progress on this path may very well hinder another. So a Guru’s guidance is absolutely important. At the time of death the Guru is our refuge. We hold Guru in our heart and in our mind, and if we have sincerely been putting in the effort with our sadhana, there will be no fear when this physical embodiment is expiring. We turn to the Guru and find warmth and comfort, with a deeper understanding of this journey. Death is then welcomed. Why fear death when we know where we’re truly heading? Throwing on saffron robes or memorizing shlokas most definitely does not make one a renunciate. One who has renounced what is necessary serve the Guru wholeheartedly. Renunciation is more to do with the mind and controlling it, rather than focusing on the common traditional appearance. There’s plenty of people wearing the robes, Malas, and tilaks who have not renounced anything at all. This can be deceiving to people. There must be an absolute surrender to Guru. To merge with the Guru. To spend your life helping the mission of Guru. This can still be done by living in our home, driving a vehicle, having a practical job to pay bills, raising your family, etc. jai Gurudev! There’s a lot of great information in these shlokas. 🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Lord Shiva continues to guide us how to relate to our Guru in such a wonderful way that really explains to us how we should conduct ourselves. In many paths of life, intellectual debate is regarded as a good thing. In politics, philosophy, in education even - to share ideas and explore others viewpoints. Sometimes it's even used to convince each other, gain points or votes. Most of us are used to this being a good thing, and encouraged. In front of Guru this is not so. If we find ourselves wanting to interject and discuss alternate viewpoints when listening to Guru, we need to remember that this is our intellect, and ultimately our ego. To interject in front of Guru, other than to sincerely ask for clarification for a better understanding, is not something we should engage in. If we are not to speak disrespectfully to others in front of Guru, then we should never speak disrespectfully to anyone, as Guru resides with us all the time. It is beautiful how Lord Shiva explains that Guru will protect us from fear of death. It is very true that this is something that a lot of people are affected by, me included. Recent events have brought home just how fragile life can be and how quickly a human life can deteriorate. For me, there are many aspects of that fear - fear of not being able to look after the ones that need me, fear that comes from the illusion that this life is what is real, I think are the main ones. I particularly find shloka 110 very moving and beautiful. How Guru allows us to see the divine within ourselves, like a lamp lighting another lamp, we are guided to this realisation. God who resides in us. I heard someone say once 'God lives in me AS me'. We don't need to be anything else. This is the greatest gift of Guru - how generous is the seva the Guru is doing, what a blessing indeed. Such a wonderful gift from God. With all my devotion and gratitude, always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

Humble prostrations Guruji, adorations and shubh prabhaat 🙏☀️🪔 Purification is such a vital requirement on this holy path. Many people may cringe at the word ‘purification’ due to ignorance and lack of understanding, but the purification process is something that all divine souls can benefit from. Like the analogy says, we are cleaning the mirror of the mind so that we can see the reflection of the Self. So, we are doing housekeeping within. We work out the demoniac qualities of our personality and replace them with divine qualities. An example would be one who is quick to anger becomes patient and has more compassion. Another could be an addict ridding themselves of the vices which had control over them and understanding the power of choice and intellect. We can purify ourselves by renouncing objects of the senses and mind and understanding their transitory nature and how they are all just modifications of amounts of matter. We unattach from worldliness and attach to Guru and God. This is the path that leads to liberation. If we do not put in the daily self effort in the practical side of our sadhana, it won’t matter how many lectures we listen to or how many scriptures we have read. That intellectual knowledge must be molded into wisdom through application. When this is done sincerely, our spiritual progress will continue to grow. We will begin to have “Aha!” moments of understanding through our reflection and implementation of what we have studied. It’s like a science experiment: we notice and observe the ways of sages, saints, Gurus, etc. We ask questions, we gain knowledge. We then come up with a hypothesis or theory of how applying the knowledge will lead one to liberation. We then test the theory by putting into practice. Then we come up with our conclusion or our results. It’s like the scientific process of sadhana. Our Guru should never be forsaken, never taken for granted, never judged nor criticized. Some may say “But what if the Guru does something inappropriate?” to which I respond by saying that if the Guru is a true and sincere Guru, that would never happen. The Guru has purified themselves already and is beyond the three Gunas, beyond ego, beyond attachments, beyond worldliness. So there would not be any inappropriate behavior from a TRUE Guru. A true Guru is light. He leads us from darkness, from the maze and torture of samsara, and frees us by bringing us back to the light. It reignites and refuels the light within us. Just as one candle lights another. We carry this light within us for eternity. Guru will always be with us. Jai Gurudev! Divine blessings. Such beautiful and thought provoking shlokas this morning. It strikes me quite instantly and I suffer from my own conscience. Regret is immediate and I find I feel really bad. It's not just affecting others, it affects me as well, if I use a harsh tone, or act out of jealousy or anger or greed. Humble prostrations Guruji, adorations 🙏☀️ Shloka 94 is a very nice reminder about how God is all-pervading. God is there through creation, sustainment, dissolution, concealment, and as bestower of grace. There is nowhere that God is not present. God is everywhere in everything that we perceive with the five senses, the sense organs, our intellect, and our mind. God is behind that divine energy which causes the functions of it all. God is the cause and we are the effect. Lord Shiva’s emphasis on the greatness of the Guru is very beautiful and deep, even through the simple repetition. Pondering this fact, we can truly see how great the Guru is and the profound impact that has taken place on our lives in many ways. When we are sincere, when we are humble, when we show humility and meekness, when we sacrifice….. this is the grace of the Guru. This is the grace of God working through us, and because of this, we begin to follow the righteous path and we grow, we blossom. Our very fragrance benefits those around us. Meditation on the Guru is always possible, no matter if the Guru is close or far in geographic location. If the Guru is sincere and true, then location will not matter. And if we have been sincere and true, by following the teachings of the scriptures, the Guru lives on eternally in our heart. The Guru is with us wherever we are. Just as Lord Rama and Sita Ma are enshrined in the heart of Lord Hanumanji. Who needs anything else when you have Guru with you? We have whatever we need BECAUSE of Guru’s grace. We know whatever we need to know BECAUSE of Guru’s grace. And by living in truth we carry out the Guru’s mission. God’s mission. To love all, to serve all, and be kind to all. Jai Gurudev Namaha! 🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Lord Shiva is saying that he bows to the Guru in which the five actions are visible - creation, sustenance, dissolution, concealment and anugraha/God's Grace. I did a bit of research into the difference between kripa and anugraha. I found they are, in essence, the same. Somebody had given it a slight difference in the sense that kripa is experienced by 'someone who has the power to help' - Guru, while anugraha is more like empathy and described as 'someone whose heart is captured by someone who is suffering'. Anyway, this was just for me to understand if there was a difference between kripa and anugraha. We can choose how we start our day - but Lord Shiva is very clear. Meditate on Guru who is residing in the Lotus of our Sahasrara in the early hours of the morning. It is a beautiful way to start the day. It makes a difference to how I go about my day, for sure. We should consider how blessed we are to HAVE Guru residing with us. We carry Guru with us all the time, to guide our actions, soften our speech, inspire us to do seva to the people we meet. Why would we not want to start the day like this? No wonder Lord Shiva says 'there is nothing greater that Guru'. Jai Gurudev! With gratitude and devotion always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

Pranaams Guruji 🙏 Beautiful shlokas, especially #89 which is changed at each satsang. Lord Shiva gives a wonderful explanation to Ma Parvati of what the Guru is. The Guru is one who is fully absorbed in the divine knowledge, the knowledge of the Supreme Self. The Guru has already cast aside his ego and personal driven agendas and continues on in this embodiment with sharing the knowledge of Self with others. He helps pull others from that state of disease, that state of disharmony and imbalance. He is the giver of shakti, Bhakti, and mukti. It is the highest blessing to come in association with a true self realized Guru and to show gratitude for the blessings of Guru, we can apply the teachings in our daily life and work on developing divine qualities. When ready, we can share and impart bits of knowledge and wisdom with others and help spread the Gurus mission. Glory to Gurudev! Om Tat Sat 🙏🕉🌹🦋

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 Lord Shiva is giving such wonderful glory to Guru and inspires us to really immerse ourselves in complete devotion of Guru. There is nothing to hold back and nothing to fear. What else in life could we wish for? It is such a mystical experience and may appear very strange to people who are not on this journey. To completely surrender to, and worship, a Guru is something no-one can really understand unless you bypass your intellect and the ego and mind. For me, this is something that caused some obstacles initially, but with time I have found how sweet the surrender is, and devotion. It is a leap we take, in trust in Guru. You have to take the plunge unknowingly of what may come. Throwing yourself off the cliff and find that you are caught in the gentlest of arms. When I stay close to Guru, life becomes more joyful, serving others becomes desirable above all else. Jai Gurudev! Jai Sri Krishna! 🏵🏵🏵 With all my devotion and gratitude always. 🌼🌷🌼 Meera

Pranaams Guruji 🙏 Beautiful shlokas and devotion from Lord Shiva. It is so true and comforting that Guru is our refuge and there is nothing and no one greater, because Guru is also God. Worship the Guru, adore the Guru, serve the Guru, and there is no need to worry about anything else. The connection to Guru and merging with Guru enhances the life of this human embodiment in more ways than we could realize. Spiritual progress is enhanced, as well as worldly life by means of how we carry ourselves, how we treat others, our perspectives of situations, how we react, etc. Everything changes for the good. To imagine this life without connecting with you Guruji, is to imagine a life full of such intense misery, sorrow, and pain. I like the shlokas expounding on how even the elevated souls do not understand the glories of the Guru. We must remember how rare and blessed it is to attain a human embodiment. It is the only way to liberation. So even the elevated souls envy human beings and hope to attain a human embodiment after they fulfill their current embodiment and karmas. Dhanyavaad, divine blessings Guruji. May all come to know and enjoy the bliss of Guru Bhakti. Om Tat Sat 🙏🕉🌹🦋
