  • Guru Gita is a devotional and mystical scripture glorifying the significance of a Guru (Spiritual Preceptor). It is narrated by World Guru - Lord Shiva Himself to his consort Mata Parvati. A must watch and listen for all devotees who want to expand their spiritual practice and attain self-realization even in this very life. Om Tat Sat.

Humble prostrations Guruji, divine blessings 🙏
This is such a lovely segment of Guru Gita. The truth and fact of Guru and God being no different and Guru being a living representative of God is a very deep topic. Thinking on this has always brought me such warmth and comfort. Guru holds the highest place in a disciples life because he understands that. Having a Guru, especially in this day and age, is a very high blessing and should not be taken lightly. The Guru helps us to unlock the true knowledge hidden within the scriptures. The printed words in ink on these pages is only the beginning of this journey. There is a whole treasure trove of wisdom within. The Guru and our purified hearts are like the master keys necessary to unlock this knowledge. Absorbing the knowledge, applying the knowledge, doing what Guru guides us to do… this is how we become absorbed in it all. If we are not doing it for the right reasons, then it is all just mechanical and intellectual. Although beneficial to know shlokas, mantras and spend time in nature, it will not take us where we need to go. That alone will not lead us to liberation in this lifetime.
The Guru has attained the state of self realization, which is where we are being led also. To attain true self realization is to attain the state of the Guru. The disciple becomes the Guru. It is almost like the disciples have the hidden gem of Self within, and the Guru provides and shows us how to use various tools to dig it out. The essence of Self is within us all, within everything. The essence in me is no different than that essence in you, the neighbors, the elderly, children, the birds in the sky, the snails in the garden, the butterflies drinking sweet nectar from the flowers. We are all one, various manifestations of that true one.
    - Apara Vidya: worldly knowledge, such as the knowledge required for various degrees and career skills. This is considered untruth and not real.
    - Para Vidya: higher knowledge, the knowledge of Self, this is considered truth. This is real.
Dhanyavaad Guruji, an enjoyable and blessed satsang. Jai Gurudev Namo Namaha! Om Tat Sat 🙏🕉🌹🦋

🔔 Koti, koti pranaams Baba ji dear. 🙏 Special gratitude and devotional offerings on Guru Purnima. 🌼🌷🌼
    🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
I am now blessed with time off work and I look forward to diving into Guru Gita in daily Satsangs - thank you so much. These are beautiful shlokas that follow so wonderfully the studies of Guru Bhakti Yoga, which we have just completed. Guru and God are the same and we are truly blessed if we have a Guru in our lives. Jai Gurudev! 🌼🌼🌼 Our limited human understanding, which is so useful in our worldly learning, practical and theoretical matters (apara vidya), can struggle understanding/grasping what God is and self realisation (para vidya). Being connected to a Guru gives a form/shape/presence to God which is easier to keep as a mental image and presence in our hearts. Knowing that when we are devoted to our Guru - we are also devoted to God. When bhakti is blossoming in our hearts during meditation and japa, we are connected with God. Guru can also guide us through scriptures and all those day to day issues we can struggle with spiritually. I have also found that holding onto Guru in times of adversities is such a blessing and brings serenity. 🙏
We can easily be fooled by our human, limited understanding if we try to apply it to spiritual matters. I think of this as switching between frequencies on a radio - we can't tune into longwave and expect to receive shortwave stations, it will be garbled. If we try to apply our day to day reasoning when reading scriptures or spiritual texts we will soon get lost, or lose interest as these can't be understood with our day to day frequency. With the guidance of our Guru we can tune in to the correct frequency and receive it correctly. I look forward to studying this book very much - especially as you are travelling to Mount Keilash 🏔and the abode of Lord Shiva - Om Namah Shivaya! Jai Gurudev!
With sincere Devotion and Gratitude always.
    🌼🌷🌼
