I lived in that neighborhood for 25 years and my parents still live there today. Memories of trick or treating and father Francis. Been inside many times. It is mind blowing. It’s been for sale for years but there is still an older male living there that the town has tried to remove many times. He is nice but spooked now because of the police.

It was a grand union

As I recall, it was a Ford, Lincoln, Merc (FLM) dealership for a while. Ford really wasn't interested in keeping low volume dealerships in network. The place really needed an update. A lot of the smaller dealerships in the tristate area are now gone. It's mostly now larger, highway dealers that are left. The Pontiac store in Port Jervis closed as well, when production ended.

The owner (Adam) passed about 3 years ago. The son tried to keep the place running but I guess didn't have the energy to keep the business running. Enjoyed so many nice meals there with former co-workers. Sad to see it's gone.

The Fresh Grocer is planning to open there next month

Yo, it been A while. Can you tape the:1636 Route 38 Lumberton, NJ 08048 (Abandoned Rite Aid), please. It was part of the Rite Aid closures that were doing back several month's ago.

This was my Kmart lol. Most of your assumptions were correct save for the apparel-that was on the left. This used to be an enclosed mall, so clothes were positioned near the mall entrance. This Kmart IS very old! In 2004, the mall tried to terminate Kmart’s lease when they announced their intention to transition the store to a Sears. They went to court over it, and that case file says the lease began in 1982. My mom swears they were open earlier, though, and says she remembers shopping there in the seventies. She says she remembers looking at the pets, which is a crazy thing to imagine Kmart selling. I’m not sure if she’s mixing it up with the Woolco that came before. Unfortunately, this mall doesn’t get a lot of attention, so I’ll never know for sure. That “garden center” was always ghetto looking. Just piles of mulch and trash, even when Kmart was seeing better days, lol. Really interesting observation with the auto body thing! I’ve never noticed that. That has definitely been bricked over for as long as I can remember. That’s something else I’ll need to ask my family about. FWIW that Sonic is still open. I don’t know how or why it reopened. It seems to only be open at odd hours and only has negative reviews. I’ve never even seen anybody there, but they appear to be operating. Needless to say, the Kmart is still sitting there empty. There are rumors there will be a Costco, but the store is kinda small… I guess we’ll see! Sorry for leaving this giant comment on an old video, but maybe someone will find it interesting 😅

It’s becoming more likely that Costco is taking over the whole shopping center. They submitted plans to the town.

Raising Canes is planning to open here

I miss this Red Lobster in Ledgewood so much!!! I loved it and used to go every year for years. Now I go the Bartonsville in PA. They have come out of bankruptcy and are restructuring to be even better that they already are, so I dear hope they open it up around Ledgewood again or the nearby areas there. They are now stronger and getting a lot of support from customers. It's great to sign up for their rewards, so worth it! and you get a little something in your birthday too!! and access to their best promotions every week and seasonal catchs. They still have like 575 or 600 of them aprox, through the US and the world..There is no other seafood steak restaurant like Red Lobster! Ive been going for decades and they are really amazing!!!! Long Live the Red Lobster!!

So sad I basically grew up in that Kmart 😢 there used to be a pizza place called Brother Bruno's next door in the early 1990's.

the service merchandise used to be connected to the main mall. The opposite end anchor store was Mays. Near Mays was the movie theater and arcade called the Dream Machine.

it opened in 2012 and closed 2017 its closed due to two things wasnt making enough money there and the walmart up the street was suppose to be getting converted to a supercenter but due to regulations that never happened

It's crazy how much it changed just in 15 years I was there in like 2009 and it looked nothing like that and it was closed for a while. I went for the close out sales with my parents 😂

to be honest im really sad this location closed, I used to always have my classmate's birthday parties here and every month before it closed we would always go to there sensory sensitive Sundays they did every first sunday of the month. r.i.p my childhood chuck e cheese, hope to visit u again one day. 🪦🪦🐭🐭😥😥😭😭

Starting in 1961 I and my family stopped there 4 times a year on our way to and from hotels like Grossingers and Concord (which are also gone). I miss them all terribly...

Theres an abandoned McDonald's in Waterbury

This store looks very much like one of the ShopRite locations from the ORIGINAL batch in the Albany area, back when they were all under the operation of Big V. That store (much like the newer now former ones) became a Price Chopper for several decades, only closing a few years ago, and is now painted black/grey (along with the strip of small stores attached, again just like this one has) - I think they are all health-related spaces now.

I gotta try and look for it, but I believe I have videos on an old cell phone walking around inside right before it closed.

a fun fact about this place, it was right across where i used to live and i really wanted to explore it, but, never found a way in. today they took it all down and theyre now making a HUGE building to replace it all, really missed this shoprite, wouldve loved to explore here.

The main Stop & Shop (and Bob's) in Milford, CT are also in the process of shutting down. (K-Mart and Sears are also long gone.) Really sad as I don't prefer the competition (Big Y, Shop Rite). At least we have an Aldi and another S&S on the north side of town.

I am almost 70 yrs old and this was our family's favorite stop on our way to Monticello for the summer. It is sad to see a memory disappear.
