Can you have this with no Vertigo? I have had four recurrent episodes over the last two and a half years of intense pressure, roaring tinnitus, and low frequency hearing loss, but no dizziness or vertigo. Each episode lasts roughly 3-7 days and prednisone brings back my hearing.
Definitely speak with your doctor an audiologist for confirmed diagnosis, but yes, you can have something called cochlear menieres disease , which includes all the hearing related issues that are episodic without having the vertigo. I have been suffering for almost a year and I think this is what I have. In October of last year my anxiety reached a boiling point and I had an extreamely bad panic attack one night. While I was having that attack, I suddenly began to feel all of these symotoms of constant movement, rocking on a boat motion, feeling like my body is swaying or raising and dropping in an elevator. I have felt it every single day, 24/7 since that night 12 months ago. It caused me to start avoiding a lot of places, especially grocery stores because the symptoms would worsen and that would cause a panic attack. In the beginning when I went to the doctor he told me it was just anxiety. And i obviously have a lot of problems with anxiety and panic and I think that very intense panic is what caused me to develop this. But I cannot think if this as simply an anxiety symptom anymore, it feels like it's now its own distinct problem that worsens my panic disorder because the dizziness and anxiety feeds each other back and forth in a continuous loop.
@@kitkat77187 yes you’re 100% correct. PPPD can start after a panic attack or a vestibular condition . It’s definitely just a misinterpretation or a misfiring of how your body perceives normal interactions as threats. The current recommended treatment approach is cognitive behavioral therapy, vestibular therapy and possibly SSRI or SSRI medication to help decrease That constant sense of threat to your body. This is a condition that I specialize in treating. I also wrote a workbook on the topic. Let me know if you ever want to discuss your case in particular you can email me at treatdizzinessathome@gmail.com and we can set up a discovery phone call 🙂

After I am up a few hours, light sensitivity seems to get a lot worse, even inside, & very extreme outside - is this related to bilateral vestibular issues? I have an Opthalmologist app't next week & ENT 2 weeks - also have Prism lenses from a Certified Visual Specialist.not long ago.....
@@debbyeastman1277 definitely check with your ophthalmologist to make sure your eye health is good with no additional problems. However, the symptoms are quite common with migraine as well. There are a lot of different techniques that you can use to reduce your light sensitivity if it is related to migraines, including medication, lenses with particular tint, you can even wear a visor or a hat to help shield some of the light your brain has to process. And it’s quite common to have a couple different layers to your dizziness, so basically once one system is off your visual system has to process more and does that being overloaded, causing migraines, for example? Something that you could propose and ask to your ophthalmologist or neurologist.
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 Thank You, appreciate the feedback! I do get headachey sometimes, but nothing like the intensity of a migraine. I will check it out with my Ophthalmologist. I have a Neurologist I saw for Peripheral Neuropathy, but once my BVP symptoms got intense he had nothing to offer - I had to do my own research & advocacy, and figure out multiple specialists to see, to finally get a diagnosis...
When I do the slow walking exercises, I feel like I am getting sweaty - does that happen to others..? Is getting sweaty a symptom of bilateral vestibular issues?
@@debbyeastman1277 no there’s no particular connection from bilateral loss to excessive sweating. However, if your sympathetic nervous system, you always seem to be kind of in that fighter flight response and these exercises make you uncomfortable or nervous. I could see how you could get symptoms. Maybe start with using a walking pole or lightly touching a countertopwhile you’re doing the exercises to help ground you and make you feel more safe and in control.
I have had two episodes of extreme dizziness and can’t focus which caused vomiting and last a few hours not minutes. Doc quickly advised was bppv but from reading these episodes should last a minute not hours. I tried the manoeuvres but these made me vomit more. What do you advise.
@@AudreyBrogan-d7q you are correct that BPPV does not last hours long. You definitely should be getting another opinion. Possibly from an ENT or audiologist who specializes in dizziness or vestibular therapist or the ER for imaging. There are so many diagnostics that need to be done to ensure you have the right disorder being treated.Misdiagnosis from BPPV is quite common because people who don’t specialize in vestibular disorders just pawn everything off on BPPV. Have you had an MRI and Audiology exam or seen a vestibular therapist in person?
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 , I am not sure Spain has such specialists. But I will ask to see the doc again who diagnosed. Diagnosis was purely on symptoms . And was revised after one month as I had not experienced another episode I was discharged with ongoing exercises . But this episode on rising this morning lasted 3 hours of dizziness & vomiting. No other symptoms apart from residual fatigue .
What stretches for the neck did you specifically do? Can you make a video demonstration . I have VM with neck and shoulder pain. Thanks

I have been struggling with PPPD / ocular migraine for 20 years Recently last year my pppd got way worse, maybe was triggered because of a vestibular/ocular migraine repetition over time which created a hyper sensitivity to the vestibular system i will share my experience hopefully it helps some of you : Initially i tried getting help with a chiropractic but after a few hours and the next day the trigger points where he pressed made me feel a lot worse to a point where the next day i couldnt even walk without losing balance, so that did not help even tho i did a few sessions. I later tried vestibular physiotherapy for 5-6 month that consist of a combinations of exercice i fully commited to do them and there was no improvement at all. What i noticed is more muscles tension from exercices = more inflammation = more symptoms of dizzness and vertigo. Along side in the period of my chiro and vestibular physio treatment i started talking anti inflammatory supplements and magnesium supplement i tried magnesium oxide for 2 month magnesium glycinate for 5 month 2 differents brands and magnesium theronate and i can tell you from my experience none of these helped me i was having so much problems with my gut health : bloating Nausea, lot of burping, brain fog due to these supplement. What i learned is take care of your gut health: eliminate all the food that make you feel uncomfortable and the ones you can not tolerate it will help you a lot with your brain fog, dizzness and vertigio associated with pppd or migraines During the journey i wanted to mention i also tried going to osteopath which i also did not benefit and at all : more muscle tension after treatement more inflammation more symptoms more vertigo I was also recommended to try acupuncture which led to the same previous results but was effective in helping with muscle tension Overall what really helped me the most is taking care of my gut health and obviously there is a gut brain axis connection linked with PPPD I also wanted to add the big importance of good continuous non interrupted sleep that have a big role in brain regeneration and neurotransmitters good functioning which are responsable of many roles including troubles with balance and vertigo.. i can say that im about 60 to 70% better with my symptoms my tolerance in big visual stimuli stores is better, driving is better, watching action movie which use to trigger my symptoms is better but i still have some symptoms present at a low-mid level I hope you all find this helpful and that your journey to recover gets better, do not lose hope, try what you are comfortable with go step by step but it is possible to get better. I wish you all the best !!!
I wish there was more of you around, no one in my area is as thorough of you.

I was drunk. Not too bad, though. Next day, i had a bit of dizzyness. A bit. Like momentary. Some stomach pain which some was related to alcohol. That's it. At night, i thought maybr i can speed up this hangover or whatever i felt with some light cardio on the stationary bike. I went slow but i went for a while. I was feeling good and did some dancing on thr bike. So moving my head, arms, my whole body. I was on the bike for 60 to 90 minutes. I immediately got off after i stopped pedaling. Shortly after, i went to lay down and i couldn't. Had horrible vertigo. Needed to lie at an incline and could not move my head at all. I think being hungover, probably not fully hydrated, and the abrupt stop on the bike without sitting there for a minute might have given me a concussion...my right side is the problem. I can feel it in my neck. All tight. Ocular region. Feels like a tension headache or migraine on the right. I think its definitely neck vertigo but i wonder if i also have bppv. Never ever ever thought this couid happen from going on a bike the day after drinking! Wtf! I never had this before. Never had vertigo. Nothing likr this. Its been 72 hours since this started. I can lie flat in bed on my left side with my head turned left. If i dont move so fast, i wont hvave a vertigo. But i am dizzy. all the time. Bc if bc the vestibular migraine on the right side. Never goes away. My doc said he can treat neck vertigo with shockwave. Im also reaching out to my MAT/MET specialist who said he can treat vertigo.
I believe this is a fascinating example of the trigemino-cervical complex in action. I've encountered patients whose neck movements triggered vestibular migraine attacks. Could the trigeminocervical complex be the key? It seems plausible
Yes I know it that can definitely be a trigger for migraines. This particular patient got relief with all the suboccipital work though
Dizziness is so complex - great job teasing all that out.

What state are you out of? I would love if I can be treated or looked at as another case study for you. Undiagnosed CD, no history of VM and ENT cardio and Neuro cleared me with imaging and the works. I’ve been dizzy for 4 months now. On and off but every day. Some days few minutes the whole day some days are the whole day. Started when I was at work, sitting looking up at a colleague and head turned 45 degrees, then I will look back down at my paper and back up, did this a few times, last time I did everything went black, never fainted but extremely dizzy, the rocking off feeling and just never went away. Never fainted. Occasional numbness in left arm. Sometimes I’m better when I walk, active, driving but sitting I start to feel off and rocking. Couldn’t work, drive for a month. Better now but all symptoms remain. 33M, no history of migraines. +C5/6 radiculopathy. Active, but do a lot of desk work. I’m desperate to feel normal again to play with my 3 girls and not feel like I’m off unmotivating me to just sit at home.

Thanks dear your video ll change many peoples life thank you yeah@@treatdizzinessathome2023
If one side is worse do I do more exercise on that side or should it always be equal? Is this also the same for other vestibular exercises. Thankyou
I would just keep equal 🙂
?
Yes
Do you have other advanced super advanced, exercises for VN?
When it comes to really advanced, you would benefit from a customized program based on what your stuff still having symptoms with. You can take all these exercises. Try to use a checkerboard and advance to walking outside, but other than that, you would definitely need an individualized program. Which I can help with if you’re interested.calendly.com/treatdizzinessathome/15min?month=2024-10
Thank you. Is there a way to decide via exercises at home which ear is affected? And if unsure which ear, is it ok to do the exercises for both sides?
@@Clearlight201 it’s always best to get an in person diagnosis if you can. You should not do both ears. Especially not in the same session or day or a few days for that matter. You could make yourself worse. Here is a digital resource that I made, it includes the order of testing that I use with my clients and what to do if you experience symptoms and what you should be looking for and then it leads you to the different treatment options. stan.store/TreatDizzinessathome/p/get-my-bppv-self-test-and-treatment-guide-
My vng came out weakness in both ears would that make me dizzy .?
@@alexLeigh7889 yes absolutely it would be interpreted as bilateral vestibular loss. On my homepage I do have a bilateral loss playlist. But there’s also a lot of other nuances to the exercises and the progression and what you can expect from your recovery, I’ll drop my link for a free discovery call if you would like and we can see if you’re a good fit for my vestibular coaching sessions.calendly.com/treatdizzinessathome/15min?month=2024-09
What does that mean anyone ??
@@alexLeigh7889 hi! Did I forget to respond to this? I apologize. So that means that you have bilateral hypofunction. Is that what you’re asking? Meaning both in your nerves are weak. I do have a video on bilateral vestibular hypofunction would you like me to send that to you?
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 omg please is this why I’m off balanced and I feel my eyes are making me dizzy and I’m so defeated Where are u located. I would pay to have u treat me
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 yes please
I just did this, it really works ❤
How often should I do this
I recommend my clients do this two times waiting 15 minutes in between sets. And then you should do that for one to three days until your symptoms go away in that position. Make sure you have been proper properly screamed and diagnosed correctly before completing this maneuver.
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 thank you!
@@rumblingprune1525 welcome
I didn't realize this is abnormal. I've tried exercises where you focus on one spot and I can never do it because my eyes always move involuntarily and can never look at any one spot for more than 5 seconds
@@thomaswilkerson2711 have you had a VNG or been to a neurologist for your dizziness? If I have a patient with spontaneous nystagmus I always referred to neurologist or neurologist to specialize in dizziness. There is medication that can be helpful for reducing spontaneous nystagmus
I think this is saccadic eye movement and not nystagmus...even I have the problem you mentioned. Nystagmus is slow and repetitive, it is a health condition. Saccades occur when we stare at an object for a long time, and our eyes just need to refocus themselves to obtain a clear image on the retina.
@@adro1721 i’m sorry, but nystagmus can be quite rapid at times, especially with an acute labyrinthitis This was a spontaneous nystagmus in the dark under goggles were no fixation could be present, so there was nothing to look at. This patient had a subacute stroke
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 Hey I need a help from your side then. I have an eye problem...whenever I focus on one thing...my eyes rapidly shift to one direction and then make a corrective movement. This lasts for a millisecond and isn't repetitive like nystagmus. Occurs atleast 1-2 times a day. Is it serious?
@@adro1721 do you have any other symptoms? What you’re describing is a saccade (if I’m understanding your description correct)☺️, but there can be hypometric and hypermetric where if it over corrects has to oscillate a couple seconds and then focus. Hypo metric can be completely normal and seen with age. Hypermetric is not commonly seen and that should be evaluated. But normally you you’re going have some other symptom that one issue alone really doesn’t tell you much. However, it can be seen with head injuries, concussions, and some migraines . Do you have any of those conditions?
