Nice, welcome back to your sewing journey and thanks for supporting the channel! Would love to help you where I can. For a cheap reliable sewing machine, I'd hit Facebook market place first to see if anyone is selling one. Sometimes you can get a brand new one for a low cost. For more info on choosing a machine, you can watch my video on things to consider before you pick one. As for patterns, Simplicity is an easy go to for understandable patterns and easy sewing but there's probably so many more indie pattern businesses since you've last sewn. You'll just have to stay close to the sewing content to see who they are and what you like. I'll be going more into tutorials by end of February/early March and these questions of yours helped so much in my planning so if there's anything else you're curious about, let me know!

Good tip. It's good to be patient...and know when to step away and give yourself some time and space.

Yes, a Singer Start is pretty basic. It’ll get you going but only so far if you really want to get into sewing. Aww I love seeing people make clothes for the kids in there lives. It’s so cute. Especially when the kid appreciates it.

@ Hi yes, I got my skates back in 2020 but haven’t been consistent grrr lol I make and Dance Hoops more since summer 2016 it’s so much fun! @@DelayaBriscoe Girl! It’s Hula Hoop 2.0 lol it’s just dancing while keeping the hoop up. I know this older lady that hoops I think it’s called Holistic hoops by Denise E Williams! She’s awesome!

lol look, I just tried to hula hoop with my daughter last week and the way that hoop wouldn’t stay up was embarrassing lol. Hula hoop 2.0 sounds like a doozy!

@ So far I've used just cotton lawn, calico and flannel! Linen is next. I just made plaid flannel ones that I can't take off cause I love them so much!

Are you using these as pajamas or are you rocking them outside the house?

Sorry for the late response and sorry it didn’t come out right. According to her, she’s updated it and has sent me updated patterns and instructions but I haven’t done it again. I think I plan to in the summer so hopefully it was corrected.

@delayabriscoe well best of luck! I scrapped it and went with the Lilypa Kanon Bustier dress, she designs full figure bras so it’s sized appropriately and really great instructions as well!

yea, just googled that pattern and you can easily tell they're more experienced w/ fuller busts. How did the dress turn out for you?

@@acestarone That’s dope, they didn’t have the beauty part when I attended. Do I think it’s a necessity to go, no, but it’s a good experience. Especially if you’re a social person who likes to network. A lot of connection opportunities will be present.

@@DelayaBriscoe I've always wanted to start but I've been so busy. When I moved overseas I have extra time I want to learn now

@@jadakizz78tulie33 well if you have the time, now is as good a time as any. Idk how the fabric stores are set up overseas or what the popular ones are, but a good easy fabric to start with are quilting fabrics. A medium weight cotton, sometimes known as Calico. It’s very forgiving and can be undone several times without damaging the fabric. Or, get some bed sheets from a thrift shop to practice and get comfortable.

Thank you, and yes I agree. I was quickly testing a pattern here. The creator has since updated the pattern for fuller busts and I would definitely add bra padding and boning next time.

Hmm it was a while ago so I don’t remember exactly. I’d say about 4 or so hours… it was tough because the ostrich feather boa is a rope with a lot of glue so it was tough to push the handle needle through. It would’ve been a lot faster to sew on machine but like I mentioned, the machine flatted the fluff.
