Not Quite a Chateau DIY French project
France
Приєднався 13 сер 2020
We are Tony and Jane, living in the middle of France and renovating a group of buildings which used to be an old Relais de Poste or Coaching Inn. Follow us as we discover interesting bits of history around our property and town. We start to bring these old buildings back to life. We repair, restore and reuse what we can of the old buildings. We design, decorate and furnish rooms. We redesign the garden and courtyard. We travel around exploring the area. We visit our friends' Chateaux and explore those too. We visit local shops markets and Brocantes, flea markets. We show you our day to day lives and our progress as we go along.

We are Tony and Jane and we are living in and renovating our old Relais De Poste/Coaching Inn.
We live in the middle of France in a region called The Berry.
We have over 40 rooms to renovate so there is plenty of work to be done. We also love to trawl the local Brocantes, flea markets and antique shops for quirky furnishings and furniture.
We love to find out about local history and often visit other peoples buildings including our friends’ Chateaux.

Wasn't hoping tony fell actually felt bit anxious watching him stumble!! 🫣
Nice to see you guys again working as always love the vlogs sue from coventry 🙏🤞
Tony and Jane are a lovely couple who seem to enjoy working together.
What a nice little gift!❤
Make a little round table top to sit on the tree stump. And the a pot with a large fern. A good spot to have a cup of coffee and watch the water!😊
Love the Cornish cream on the house! Such a fresh happy color!!😊
Love the Cornish cream on the house! Such a fresh happy color!!😊
You have to make the flue pipe higher above the brick of the chimney...so it can draw!
Glad it wasn't such a hassle getting most of that off I kept thinking if he tugs too hard might fall back in the river. I actually thought he would be fixing the wall that sizeable crack it will get worse over winter. Well done Jane and Tony :)
Congratulations Tony you did not get set you have nailed the Ivy 👍 🤗 Jane great containt 👍🤗 🍷🍾🍷💐 Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Wow, that was a massive job! Thanks for taking the time to film this. I’m sure you were both very tired after that day.
Good job done!
Good job guys keep up the hard work ❤
So glad you remembered the crowbar
Fabulous job Tony & Jane! It must feel fab to see all of that ivy gone from the wall. I hope the rest of the clearing in the river goes as smoothly!
Join
Tony dose you wife help you
Well done, Tony. That was not easy to maneuver in that mud.❤
BEST WISHES TO YOU
Tony is amazing....job well done!! I hope we can see the rest of the wall being cleaned off. It looks so good and will help preserve the bread oven!!!
The both of you, ( Nice going.😊😊
❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing job Tony! Well done
I love this couple. Despite having so much work to do on their own property, they generously help out their friends - saw Tony helping Patrick & Stuart repair their chapel roof.
What a great job Tony has done on the ivy, Jane i am glad he didn't fall in😅. take care and see you both next time 💕🌼🤗
Super Tony a encore frappé 😅😊
great job Tony and Jane .
Hard work, but so satisfying to get rid of that vine.
I'm always amazed at how quickly and fiercely vegetation grows in France! Like the Amazon jungle. 😶 Ahahahaha Jane I ws thinking he might loose his footing but glad he did not.
Good job Tony, and you stayed dry. I probably wouldn’t have . I be a drowned rat 😅. Have a great weekend Jane and Tony.
Hi Jane,wish I was there to help😁💛😎☕️🥰❤️🇺🇸
Hi Jane and Tony, I really enjoyed your vlog. Is there nothing that man of yours won’t tackle . Even you Jane are a bit of a brave women leaning over and grabbing the branches. If that was me, I would probably fell over. You are an amazing couple. 🥰🇨🇮
If you cut it and wait a few days it will die and then it just almost falls off. Work smarter not harder. Be safe!
Gosh that weir is loud, can you hear it in the house?
Ivy is just so stubborn to remove! Good job Tony and Jane!
Oh! That can't have been easy from the water. Well done!!💪💪
I’m jealous of your beautiful back yard and the river view and sounds.
Well done ❤❤
Well done Tony 🍻 And mighty Jane the helper! Have you been working on your kitchen project yet? Or are you going to do the upstairs gite.
Well done Tony, and Jane. You’ll have a job to keep him out of the river now, with the new waders 😊 At least you’ve secured the building and stopped the invading ivy, for the time being 😊❤️
I wasn't concerned at all that Tony would fall in. I was, however, worried about you, I was glad when you got the bucket.
You'll need to do your building facade now so do you own all to the end of that street? I am guessing you aren't allowed planters at the front at your doorway. I like the chairs you were eyeing up did you get them? they would look nice in your new project when it's done with the old wine cellar ;) well done Tony and Jane :) and other Tony and friend too :)
Once again, Tony the “star” of the show. Glad he never slipped over.
Glad Tony didn't fall in but it would have been funny❤
Jane, in the states we have a product to help kill that tree stump. You drill multiple holes in that huge stump, then you pour the stump killer in the holes. You can get the stump killer at a garden center, Lowe’s or Home Depot here. I assume you have a Brico Marche’ there that would have it too. It really works. It will also kill the vines. Great job!
Here in Spain we use agua fuerte which translates to strong water...it is a strong chemical
❤
You are a great team of workers! Pulling and tugging as you're trying to stay upright in the water Tony, good balance! This was obviously a rewarding task. Good for you two!
how's the river with al the rain from the last couple days? the forest here is a lake now..
Nice job Tony . Thank you for sharing Tony and Jane♥♥
Glad Tony didn't fall in! He's such a hard worker, always getting jobs done in a timely fashion. Does the river feel cold through the gaiters? Good job filming and helping Jane. Your passing technique for the tools was excellent :)
