Flying Fish, ZERO bugs, and a Perfect Summer Day | Hiking Mt. Tom, Field, and Willey
Yeah, so this one was a long time coming. But, we finally got it posted!
In this video we hike three more of the 4K Foot peaks, Tom, Field and Willey. We also decided to add on a bonus summit, Mt. Avalon, which can be found on the 52 With a View hiking list! We are so happy to say we checked off numbers 17, 18 and 19 from our list, as we managed to hike 10.2 miles with around 3,750 feet in elevation gain.
We picked a perfect day, the weather was beautiful and the journey through the forest was absolutely breathtaking...regardless of the limited views at each of the summits! We hope you enjoy!

Bugs, Mud, and Sweeping Views | Hiking Mt. Carrigain 🦟
Переглядів 888Рік тому
Ah, 4,700’ Mt. Carrigain, peak number 16 of 48 on our NH 4000 footer journey. For this one we chose to do an out and back on the Signal Ridge Trail, which made the hike a total of 10.4 miles with around 3,300 feet of elevation gain. The first 2.7 miles of trail is extremely gradual, as we gained only 850 feet in elevation…but the following 1.9 miles of trail gains about 2,200 feet. So, it’s a w...

Mt. Osceola and East Osceola are peaks 14 and 15 of 48 on our NH 4000 footer journey! This one for us was once again an out and back, 8.4 miles in total, with around 3,000 feet of elevation gain. Beginning on the Mount Osceola Trail, we hit the stunning views near the cliffs off of the Mt. Osceola summit after 3.2 miles. Then, a mile (and a quick look at the steeeeep chimney between the two sum...

Peaks 12 and 13 of 48 on our NH 4000 footer journey are North and South Kinsman Mountains! For this hike we tackled the Mount Kinsman Trail to Kinsman Ridge Trail, tacking on a bonus minor mountain called Bald Peak along the way as well. After doing a few shorter hikes during the winter, we're back at it again and very excited to start checking off these New Hampshire higher summits. This one f...
A Calming Winter Hike to Stunning Views (Hiking in the White Mountains)

We decided to switch up the edit this week! This is a much simpler hiking video than what we normally make on this channel, without the high paced edits, thumpin’ music and loads of info. Eventually we would like to do more travel vlog type videos surrounding places to visit here in New England (travel vlogs tending to be edited more in line with how we’ve been editing our hiking videos), and w...

It is a moderate hike that can be completed in around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace ...

Peak 11 of 48 on our NH 4000 footer journey is Mount Hale. If you love the endurance of hiking above all else, this is a perfect peak for you! It’s a consistent climb with a few strolls. After hiking 15 miles over the Wildcats and Carters, we wanted to feel accomplished without over...

With this video we had a fantastic and unique opportunity to spend a whole day on New England’s tallest peak, sitting at 6,288 feet, Mt. Washington. Notorious for its inclement weather, it’s hard to think about New England without having an image of Mt. Washington somewhere in your mind. As a centerpiece of tourism to New Hampshire, and the rest of the region, over 300,000 people, by train, car...

Peak 5 of 48 on our NH 4000 footer journey is Mt. Moriah, via the Stony Brook and Carter-Moriah Trails! This did allow us to be alone at the summit for a check-in and some...

We’re back to hiking! Peak 3 of 48 on our NH 4000 footer journey is Mt. Cabot, the most northern of the NH 4000ers. To be completely honest, we walked away from Cabot with overall mixed feelings about the hike. Some people seem to love it, as it is quite remote (away from the more densely traversed trails in the Whites), it isn’t overwhelmingly steep at any point, and if you add a couple of add...

7.6? Hey, just thinking here - i think you're rating your experience and not the quality of the trail and view. I'd be curious how you rate it NOT considering the bugs (those would be at every mountain in NH....or New England?). I might do Carrigain tomorrow, and there will probably be no bugs

That dirt road you drove down is called T6 or #6 road. You missed the 16’ and 32’ cliffs you can jump off at coos canyon. Theirs also some very nice hiking/ scenery around the kennebago divide which is just north of oquossoc. Nice to see people exploring the beauty this world has to offer. Excellent video young people.

Yep, they definitely did miss the cliff jumping spot. A little further down the river from the bridge, there's a cliff jumping spot. You have to cross the bridge if you're coming from Route 17, then take a right on the next road (Byron Village Road). Once you come down the small hill, you'll see a mowed area where you can access the cliff jumping spots.

PLEASE DON'T ride the carriages pulled by horses! There are other options - pedicabs and bus tours for example. And if the City of Charleston would only AUTHORIZE it, the awesome e-carriage would be an option. The horses in Charleston pull the heaviest load in the entire US - 17 people PLUS heavy wood carriage - to ONE horse. Please check out the "size" of the people riding. The heat and humidity here in the summer are awful yet the horses will not be pulled unless the temperature has been measured 4X at 95 degrees. And that temperature is taken 4 STORIES ABOVE the scorching hot pavement!! 4X!!! 4X IT MUST MEASURE 95 DEGREES, NOT 3 X AND ONE 94.5. - THAT MEANS START OVER.The hottest part of the day is often late afternoon so even if by some miracle the horses are pulled, they will have worked in those horrible conditions for the majority of the day. And they pretty much never get pulled so they all suffer ALL summer. Traffic is awful in Downtown Charleston, that is NOT an environment that horses, who spook easily, should be working in. The streets ARE narrow and crowded! There have been over 140 incidents with the carriage horses since 2016. Please, anyone who comes here - DO NOT RIDE THE CARRIAGES PULLED BY HORSES!
