TRYING TO BREAK THE MONTE @(FATMANS INVASION)
Drove my 300K mile Matrix to Oregon and back from San Diego. Was looking for a gen4 RAV4 but couldn’t find the right one before the trip. Made it with no issues.
Old Toyotas never cease to amaze me on how long they run! Thanks for watching!
Not acurate. Once you get to drive you have to go threw 2nd to get to first before slapping threw gears
Mine must be broken then... To be fair it came from Facebook marketplace for 50 bucks so I guess it's good enough for what it's in lol.. Thanks for letting me know!
Question, does this s10 still have the rpo sheet in it? For the past couple days ive been trying to figure out what color that gold is.
Actually it doesn't... But I do have the original paperwork that came with the truck that has the code on it... Tomorrow when I get home from work I'll look and see what it is and let you know! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair much appreciated! I’ve been slowly robbing panels off a different truck for my project because I like the gold color😂
@@jeremyfraser67 hey sorry it took a few days but the GM code from 83 is 65L from my original paperwork! Hope this helps!
@@Midnightautorepair no worries, turns out it’s called almond metallic.
How much rust does it have? I see it's a PA car but I'm not sure how much salt they use on the roads out there. It looks really nice.
I've had to replace the rockers already and I've r welded the rear frame back together... The rust belt is so rough on cars! It looks good at a distance but it's rough around the edges... Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair Yes, sir and thanks for the info.
I have 2010 lance gts with cvt and 238936.000 it will go anywhere
81. Throttle body injection. V8-6-4
I'm pretty sure radial tires were standard by that time
Actually 1982 was the first year all cars in the U.S came standard with radials...I appreciate you asking that because it's something I didn't 100% know myself...I know mid 70s was hit and miss for them... Thanks for watching!
I just acquired a 1950 Plymouth with Overdrive. 1st fill 15 MPG, 2nd fill 19.6 MPG, 3rd fill 21.6 MPG. Have to keep turning the idle screw out every few days due to Idling to fast. No Squeaks, rattles , etc. 43,000 original miles and un-restored , just keeps getting better and better !
And it's gonna get better the more ya drive it! That's a cool car there! Thanks for watching!
I’m from Southern California and been to Canada several times, my 06 has 200,000 and still running strong
It's still got a long life ahead of it! Thanks for watching!
That's the evaporator core 😞
Was just pointing out the fact that there's no engine between the radiator and the evaporator core lol... Wouldn't be much of a radiator if it were that far back 😂
Had a Caballero with a vortec headed 350 and some very tall gears. It ran well and it would surprise lots of automatic 4.6 mustangs. Averaged 14mpg with a big holly. Would absolutely cruise at 90mph. Clocked at 143mph by Oklahoma highway patrol. Felt like I'd been faster in it. Still had 2100rpms left. 😅
Lol the little S10 still has 3.42 rear gears so it's done at a little over 100 at 4400 RPM but gets almost 19 mpg thanks to a good ole quadrajet... The GMC Caballero was cool... You don't hardly see those anymore! Thanks for watching!
Love the new intro
Thanks!
Maybe someday you can give your mom a ride in the truck.
Great review man Love the old S10 trucks can't wait to see what you do in the future keep up the great content 😎👍
Will do man... Thanks for watching!
Lookin good josh
Thanks man! Hope all is going good for ya!
My 06 GT mustang has 345k miles on it. Hoping to get the clutch back in it this week and start adding more. Need to go hit the Dragons Tail again.
I want to get there myself and carve up some corners! Your getting some good miles out of that stang! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair No problem. Fortunately I live just 2 hrs away. SO it is just a weekend drive for us.
We had one went past 560,000 miles
I would have liked to check the mileage on this one to see how high it was! Gotta love Toyota... They run forever!
I love my 2008 toaster, boxer whatever with manual transmission, on 225/40/18 tires. It has over 200k now and is still going strong. The original AC still blows ice cold. Never left me stranded, bought new since 2008 original owner.
‘64 nice! I’ve got a ‘64 Spyder I’m rebuilding the engine for on an extreme budget. Best of the earlies.
You seem to be very Corvair savvy. That being said you shouldn’t let an engine being locked keep you from getting it. Odds are it’s just some rust in the cylinders. And they aren’t that hard to pull.
The one I'll be reviving in my next video is a 64 but I've gotta run the block numbers to make sure it's a 164 and not a 145 since those engines get swapped around so much... And I've got 3 engines worth of parts here since I was picking up locked up engines... They are a pain to get apart when they are like that lol... Plus as long as I can find one that turns I've got a pair of 140 HP Corsa heads to install on it at some point.... Either way that 61 of mine will have some pep when I'm done lol... I'm also picking up the 140 block as well that's out at that same yard! I've always liked the early models because of the Darien Gap expedition and why I was happy to find a 61 sedan but soon I'm also picking up a 67 Monza coupe that I'll be doing a video on as well! Take care of that 64 and thanks for watching!
Thats so cute it purrs loudly when you floor it going from a brisk walk speed to maybe a power walk speed lol. I wish i could get one. I love boxes ❤
The nice thing is that there are still quite a few left out there... And since it's a Toyota product even over 100k miles isn't that big of an issue🙂 and lol yeah it's not much of a race car but they always reward you with a fun drive! I still have mine to this day and it still goes on 100+ mile road trips on a regular basis... Currently at 295k and going! Thanks for watching!
@@MidnightautorepairI hope you do a follow up video when you hit... Maybe 300k or 350k 😊. I bet all the Scion xb fan boys will love it 💕
@@pixelartgamergirl stay subscribed to find out! 😁
😪
I've owned my 65 Corvair since before you we re born! Runs and drives like new. Fun car. Clarks Corvair parts has well over 10,000 different parts. My last belt was over 20 years when I replaced. When engine is cold you need to ba able to turn the generator/alternator fan with one finger. When engine is hot it will be tight. Too tight will cause lots of problems.
I picked up my floor pans from Clark's for mine but as ya saw I'm my other video... The engine was trashed long before I got to the car... Or was alive lol... The 65 is such a cool body style... I'm in the process of picking up a 67 Monza coupe that I'll be doing a video on in the future! Next video I'm doing is getting a corvair I found in the junkyard to run so I can harvest the engine from it... Also came out with a set of 140hp Corsa heads too!... Gotta check out my junkyard tour...I found 5 or 6 corvairs in there... One of them being an early spider... They really are cool cars! Thanks for watching!
My 2006 xB is clocking at 338K now and going strong. Uses a tiny bit of oil between changes, but nothing major. It's been super well cared for, though. Also, mine is a stick, which I really prefer. Also, I'm 6'3"!
Mine is catching up at 294k now lol... Mine uses a quart of oil every 700-800 miles though... I'm gonna attribute that to a terrible lack of maintenance before I got it at 262k ... And being as tall as me... Isn't it one of the roomiest cars to drive!... Thanks for watching! Keep your xb as long as ya can...I haven't found anything else like them!
@@Midnightautorepair Yes indeed, I intend to! This is the third one I've owned -- each one an '06 model. My first one I drove, packed with luggage and stuff, from Vermont to California!
I bought one with 390k for $450. Used it to paint houses for a few years. Sold it for $400 with 450k. Still ran strong. Regret selling it.
Toyota literally makes eternal cars! I have my Scion xb that refuses to die lol... Thanks for watching!
The Nova wagons one of my favorites top 5
What's up man! Hope things have been good! And man it's such a cool yard to see!
@@Midnightautorepair Staying busy you know a Slave to the Shop. Got my OBS done turned out well. You’re living around a Gold Mine down there. I’m jealous Lol!’!!!!
They made a Corvair wagon too.
@@danr1920 yes indeed... The Lakewood wagon... Maybe someday!
My first car was a 1953 buick special with a straight eight!
They are great cars! That had to be stylin as a first car! Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed watching the exploration! The last Corvair looks promising!
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Its Good to see you doing well man. Feel free to message me whenever man we need to catch up.
Will do man!
Yep would like to see full video. Lots of great stuff. Sport wagon was nice nice. Thanks for video. New sub from uk. 👍👍
I'll have to get out there and walk around a bit more...I know there's an old Volvo and a Morris 1100 out there as well! I thank ya for watching and thanks for the sub!
@@Midnightautorepair ye. Make a walk around video. If possible. It’s all about the price. Buy low sell high. If they clearing out. You got plenty money going out on the revamp. But if you got spare. The banks charge you to store your money now. So best off in a investment. Good luck.

Where's the junkyard I would love to see it for my self you should do a full video of the junkyard 👍👌
It's a private yard here in North Carolina and I'll do a full video if people want it! Thanks for watching!
Awesome I've got a 60 63 and 64😊
I'll have to do another video there....I still didn't even get to a quarter of the yard! And there's more of that vintage there! Thanks for watching!
I’m back a year later 😂. I copied you. Copped a pearl white 2004 today. Headed to North Hollywood to pick it up. 5k and 146,000, one driver.
Damn that's barely broken in...I still have mine BTW...294k and finally had to replace the original alternator after the bearings finally gave out in it... You will love it...I promise! Thanks for watching!
My Grandma had a 1984 Caddy Coup Deville Long 2 door of course… the front and Rear of the car still Resembled the Brougham series 4 door models… Anyway… she bought the car used in 1994 … ( probably the 8th owner ) and drove the car only a year before it went into the Shop for a major repair… At that time in Texas in the panhandle mind you… there was a huge shortage of Technological Type Mechanics who could Read or Understand this Weird Creation of a car engine… ( 4-6-8 ) … So the car spent a whole 3 weeks waiting for a special mechanic to fly down from Denver Colorado to Pampa Texas… 1995. Luckily the mechanic knew this engine Well and brought his computer hardware and software with him. Long story short… the Freakin ECM on the Car was partially Shorted causing a diverse engine idle and other mishaps with the ( 4-6-8 ) setup!! Anyway 2 days later and a new ECM and tune up and a Whopping Bill of $1,400.oo dollars … Grandma was back on the Road again!! Needless to say…. Grandma became the proud owner of a 1990 Lincoln Town Car Cartier series 2 weeks later.. with a H/O 5.0 liter Fuel injection V8 . And the Caddy became history… Probably in someone’s Salvage Yard I imagine!
Most non tech mechanics back then did what they always did and bypassed the system so it was just a regular V8 lol they did that back in the late 50s a lot on the early GM fuel injection systems found on Bel Airs and corvettes and took the whole system off and just put a 4 barrel carburetor on it and called it a day... It was a rare option to begin with and they made it even rarer to find one still in tact... Those old Cadillacs were smooth riding cars! Thanks for watching!

Beautiful remark about the kia soul. Don't confuse us!! Mine has over 200,000. Stck shift and only now is asking for a new clutch. There is a lot of high mileage heroes, my 94 and 96 c1500. Both over 300,000 miles and a 2000 dakota 225,000. But definitely my mini fridge (scion xb) is the best.
It's almost like cared for or not... The scions reliability is unmatched.... Mine is an auto and the first time I changed the transmission fluid it was blacker than the oil and still worked fine! And a small block Chevy is an engine I've always joked... As long as it will spin it will run! They are damn near indestructible too! Keep the maintenance up and that scion will have many more years in it! Thanks for watching!
Im doing same think ill drop a new motor in mine before i get Rid of it
My Box is a Tank i just hit 277,777 Miles and still Rolling 2004 XB
Mine just finally wore out the alternator bearings at 294k.... They don't ask for much and the OEM parts seem to always be the best! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepairdid you get the original alternator rebuilt? Or just bought one from like AutoZone?
@@pixelartgamergirl junkyard OEM actually... Never been a fan of parts store rebuilds... Only one I would find acceptable is a Denso factory remanufactured unit since it's rebuilt with all the original supplier parts
I have a 96 OBS Chevrolet Z71 four-wheel drive with 270+k actually looking to get a Scion toaster like that, my buddy was telling me that he knows somebody that's got a song with 500k on it same block
As long as ya find one that's in decent shape... They are great little cars that don't feel small when you drive them! Mine just turned 294k and finally ran into my first real bit of maintenance this year and it was to put a good used alternator for it... Original denso alternator lasted 20 years and 294k before the bearings in the alternator failed! It's worth getting! Thanks for watching!
My son has a scion xb with over 208k miles and is still going strong.
It's still got a long life ahead of it! Mine just turned 294k and just did a 600+ mile road trip! Thanks for watching!
I have the 2005 scion xa with 204000 miles and absolutely love it. Very fun to drive and runs like a new car. Mine is number 286 of 1700 of the special 2.0 series
That's awesome! Mine was one of the early release ones I found out... Still has a late 03 build date... Thanks for watching!
I love my 2006 xB! Keep up on maintenance and it will take care of you. Great video! (your dashboard lights do give me a little anxiety tho 😬 haha)
Lol oh those little lights have been on for 4 years now...I don't feel like pulling the steering wheel to replace the steering angle sensor and no antilock brakes never bothered me LoL.. Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair Gotcha! Great video!
1975 ...400 C.I....with all the smog equipment, you're lucky if you get 135 HP out of that thing. I had one....and that's not bragging.
I would say the acceleration is very tame lol still a fun drive in a world of Tupperware cars though! Thanks for watching!
Help from anyone please? I have a cosmetically beat up 05 XB… would it be cheaper to buy one that looks nice or to get a couple of small dents fixed, spoiler, door lock actuators, windows get stuck, new wheels, and a paint job on my current one? Ones in good condition (much nicer looking than mine) and a few more miles can be found around me in the $5k+ range.
When I picked mine up the passenger side had been ran down a guard rail at some point and was missing both sides of the ground effects and one of the rear flaps for the ground effects and the front bumper was all cracked to death.... It took me a couple of years to piece it back together...I used the Facebook groups for a lot of the little parts and pieces and a lot of good guidance with it... As long as yours runs good... It's worth fixing in my opinion... Depending on the work it needs... It's usually still cheaper than a car payment! Thanks for watching!

The Fury 2 doors of that vintage are extremely rare nowadays. They didn't make a ton of them when they were new(since the 4 doors were so popular with fleet services) that it's nice to see an original one still running an driving. Personally i would restore that car back to it's original glory and give it a good home. I personally love the looks of the 2 door Fury's of that generation and they deserve more respect than they get to be honest. Compared to today's junk rolling out of the assembly plants, any decent Mopar enthusiast would be proud to own that car.
I would have to agree! Maybe someday the owner will let it go... Bit till then I promise it's in a good home! Thanks for watching!
I have an 06 with 261k, she is so reliable. I love my toaster. The funny thing is I’m 6’4” 340lbs and I get weird looks but I drive her proudly. I fit so comfortably in it.
I can totally understand! I'm 6'4 and about 240 and have never known room like that... Mine just made another 700 mile trip without any issues... I'll hate the day I have to let it go! Thanks for watching!
I got a 2010 and I have definitely put some miles on it.
That's what they are built for! I just did a 700 mile trip in mine again! Thanks for watching!
@@Midnightautorepair for sure, I’m about 150k in gonna get to 300 Large hopefully.
@thelasvegaskid that's got a lot of life left! Mine just turned 294k on the trip home... They are damn good engines!
@@Midnightautorepair yeah that’s why I bought it. I do love my scion
