Do you have an official website to sell your products?
Pheidole are very interesting and cute ants! My house has a giant colony which i suspect to be Pheidole. They have huge majors. I already saw them moving their brood to another location, it's very funny.
Hello, im trying to make my own nests currently which silicone did you use? Im unsure of which kind to use.
What happened with this colony?
Update?😢
Fabulous footage and intelligent commentary, thank you! Subbed.
Camponotus have nanitics but they aren't exactly what you described. Nanitics just refer to the first generation of worker. It's not a permanent caste.
Where r the new videos. It’s been 2 years
Mesquite is not an invasive species to South Texas. The Tamaulipan Scrub land is Mesquite's native range. South Texas is part of the Tamapulipan Scrub.
So these guys dont balloon up as much as other species do they?
Found 6 queens on top lost 2 dropped them and have them In an empty cleaned garlic bottle it's a little small
Gonna get a ant nest like the one in a video
Got the pheidole mega smt
I just did this flipped a rock and so.e old fire wood next to it
So hard, just pour the gypsum and let it semi dry, then scrape out the holes with a spoon
I got a big mound of these guys…I do not want to destroy them but I have to move them as they are right where I need to drive a post 2' into the ground. I poured diatomaceous powder on their mound…but I really don't want to hurt them. I don't want them hurting my construction guys either. Can you advise?
if anything, that small leak might actually be an improvement itself- reminds me of soft plastic lure pouring you need a little vent so an air bubble isnt trapped
How tall are the caves in your setup?
how many different ant types would be good to keep?
Woow nice nest! 😮 Where i can buy box for outworld? (link)
hello may i ask where did buy the aspirator
Are you using a fine play sand here or a more coarse kiln dried sand?
Can pogonomyrmex barbatus climb glass yours seem to climb better then my pogo occidentalis they can't climb at all?
I know this is late, but I’m planning on keeping one of these. I live towards north Texas, so I’ll have to make a trip. What months are the queens most active? And how many days after a good rain can I expect to catch them?
Really nice nest and out world. I enjoyed the video and found it inspiring. Where do you find the container you used for the out world.
do you have any tips for a messor babrus colony? ive just got my queen and she has 4 workers
nice nest! homemade?
Excellent 👌
nice
this looks amazing! but where's the lid? how are you covering the top? i assume glass, but how ?
How much ultracal 30 do you normally use per formicarium? I just wanted to estimate how much should be ordered, and assume at least one failure while learning.
Raising a colony from a founding queen takes months to years, it’s so easy to just poison or crush wild ants. But once we have to raise them. We see how hard and long it takes to form such an army ☝️
Hey so I was wondering did your ants die cause I didn’t see any vents for air flow in your home made nests
Are you still eating raw meat?
Fluon they dont like but can cross if they want to. Talcum does trip em up though... btw < 2mm ants may drown if fluon runs down and gathers into a drop. Guess how i found out.
Personally, I like to let the ants build the nest. I like natural earth nesting setups
Jeez just use tape or string to secure walls
Nice nest 👍
How do you clean those nests? You can't hardly take the glass off and keep them in....
Thank you!!
Love the new formicarium. I’m planning on getting into the hobby this year and have been looking at tar heel’s site with anticipation. Likely going to do C. pennsylvanicus so likely will be next year before I even think about a hearth :) Enjoyed the video!
Hey there! Question, did you ever heat the nest at all? Also, my queens are doing something odd, a small cricket invaded their current test tube and all they did was run it off, they did not attack. Thoughts?
these ants are so nice by far my favorite colony that I have. very interesting to observe. my queen has a skull on its back because of the scars from when she lost her wings makes it look like a skull logo on her back its real nice.
Where can i find a queen or purchase a queen like this one?
Alguém sabe algum inseticida pra, acabar com essa formiga, minha casa da cheia?
