    I have a Sigma 12-24mm f4.5-5.6 DG HSM that I originally used on my F5 when I wanted full frame shots. At that time my Digital was a D300 which was a 12mp DX format camera. BTW the D300 actually made some very nice images. Still have 12-24 and still use it on occasion. One nice thing about the first edition version was that it's distortion was below 1% and that rectilinear bias in the design did result in a loss in sharpness at the corners but I never found it to be too bad. One lens that sparks my interest is the LAOWI 9mm lens. If find the thought of a lens wide enough where my foot wear could become prominent in an image rather fascination. BTW, the solution for this is to view the lens as a One Shot Panorama lens and do the necessary cropping for feet and such in post. Makes it much easier than doing 5 or 6 focus stacks and then merging them into a fully focused panorama.

      Hey! I don't personally shoot film too often. I have on occasion before and it's alot of fun but it's just a bit too difficult and expensive to really commit too. However shooting medium format on a rz67 really is something else if you ever get to try it

    I have many Helios lenses. My favorite is not the one with swirly bokeh, but the 44-6 (I think?) that has lens coating but still catches a lot of circular flaring when illuminated from corners. I love taking photos in the evenings with this lens, result is beautifully warm images with rainbow-shaped flares. I know pixel peepers will tell me the lens is flawed and not sharp enough and blah blah blah, but the result is all that matters to me. And modern lenses with surgically controlled specs won't give me the result that is so pleasing to look at.

    Not sure of the full back story but in the late 60's and early 70's, Vivitar (Ponder and Best) made a 135mm f/1.5 lens. It had a T-mount configuration so you could use it with just about any brand of 35mm camera. Weighed in at just under 2170g (4.7lbs) with tripod collar and metal lens hood! Camera-Wiki has a posting about it under "Vivitar Professional 135mm f/1.5."

    Would have loved to see the Zeiss (Contax) N-Mirotar 210mm f/0.03 (technically, it's T/0.03) covered. I remember seeing an eBay listing for this way back in the early 2000s and that was crazy. Unfortunately, it's only for B&W photography on film due to how it works (using light amplification technology for night vision devices). This was obviously meant for the Cold War era spy craft though consumers could still order one as they did market it for filming wildlife at night.

    The Canon 5200mm lens was like lowkey designed for the military. Could be mounted on ships, spy planes and coastal observation stations. After all Japan was also affected by the cold war and had the threat of soviet territory next door, despite their "neutral" stance.

    Th worst I personally used was a Kodak disk film camera. A point and shoot from the 80s. It auto advanced the film (a disk) when you clicked the shutter. It was all automatic but it mean't that the photo was a fraction of a second delayed. Forgot taking candid photo of a cat with it. The cat would her the mechanism advancing and be able to turn its head before photo was snapped. Many a good photo got lost with a distorted cat face as it rapidly looked at the camera.

    Hmmm. Maybe the client doesn't see a difference. But believe me, me editing 800 wedding images benefit a lot from using a GM lense. It is the coating what makes a difference. But, and this might be the handshake, I don't buy them. I rent them. In my personal Kit there is only one GM prime (the 35).

    2 stops brighter means 200% brighter, not 400% (that would be 3 stops). Other than that, it's a fun video. 😊

    • @CongThanhContent
      @CongThanhContent Місяць тому

      Thanks! Also It is 400% not 200%. One stop is twice as bright, and two stops is twice as bright as that. So it's 2x2=4.
