Such a beautiful tank. The fish selection is fantastic. Would love more update videos on here
@@7Makowski7 will do! Planning on doing a series all the way from build to fish and everything else 🙌
That sounds great. Any ideas on fish? What size tank?
@@7Makowski7 oh I meant doing a video series on this tank, The Grotto. Like explaining the building of it, and everything
i'd slide a small stool there just to ease me psychologically lmao

Do you use any CO2 or Fertilizer for plants ? If not how they are growing. What water is used RO + anything else or tap water?
@@rajmoonshine just ro, they grow from nutrients provided by the fish, no fert or co2
@@TMKAquarist do you re meneralize the RO water or directly use it. I heared and seen the videos stating RO water has to remenerlize by seachem equilibrium etc.
@@rajmoonshine no need, unless u r keeping fish that need harder water
@@TMKAquarist - I have checked my tap water it's tds is 290 ppm and my ro water is 20 ppm. So I'm mixing both to make it to 200 ppm for my south American cichlids. Do you think it's fine . Can you suggest
@@rajmoonshine that’s fine for a lot of SA species, but not for some. The fish that r only found in acidic water will probably not do very well in the long run. For those, like a lot of the apistos, straight RO does better
Maybe the most unique I've seen of what you have created , but your Discus is my all time favorite 💙💚🩵
@@stoneysscapes7544 ah yes! Thk u 🥰

I think its made of "Galvanized square steel" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@KonyaDanielCarlos the beams on the two sides and the one across the middle?
@@TMKAquarist yeah, and there is a meme of it "Galvanized square steel" and it's made fun of because that homedesign channel on YT who makes funny homes, for example "Little John bought an apartment in Shanghai, but to his surprise it was only 1 square meters, he could barely sleep curled up, so he decided to innovate, he welded a frame from Galvanized square steel and screws borrowed from his aunt making it durable for 10,000 years and extending his home by 9 square meters. What kind of rock did you use?
Slate stone on the back, hakkai stones on the bottom
Great tank Mark, do you use CO2 fertilization for your plants on this big tank? And if you do, what type of reactor do you use?
@@Backblast72 ya I did inject co2 for a period of time, that’s when the plants, especially the Amazon sword just absolutely took off! But for its later part of life, I stopped using co2, although the plants were as glorious, they were still thriving and healthy. I didn’t use a reactor, but I used this old school diffuser called “cyclone”. It basically just created a vortex using the jet from a pump and broke up the co2 bubbles into smaller bubbles. Not the most efficient way to do it, but still worked.
Amazing tank. What diet are you feeding the wilds?
I’m feeding them Sera discus food and freeze dried blackworms

This is hella underrated. Although I don’t do fish tanks or work with glass, I do art a lot and work with clay, and building something this big in one day is hella impressive, it takes me about 3 days just to make one cup 😨😱 u are very talented
Thx so much! I’ve had a lot of practice 😆
@@TMKAquarist Yw! U look rlly professional doing this, keep it up! This is genuinely epic, and I was abt to say that it’s big enough to fit one of those small sharks in there but that reminds me of a dream I had where the fish escaped my fish tank and were flying around in my house and there was a lemon shark 🤣🤣😂😂😅

Great idea to keep sump outside the house. What is the lowest temperature during the winter? Thanks
It’s gets to low 50f here in Southern California
Well it does make sense now, here in Irl temp are going down some times to -10 celsius, I don’t know how efficient will be to keep the sump outside…
Beautiful 😍
😄
Beautiful 😅
Thk u!
Always appreciated this tank and nothing comes closer to perfection! But when I learn the amount of plumbing, sump, filtration, space, amount of water used or drained everyday it’s just seems extremely complicated, expensive and artificial. Like none of those fishes will ever reproduce or have a natural life cycle. Just an elaborated colorful painting made by life fish and plants. It’s great, no doubt, but what’s not seen behind this magnificent facade is what makes me have second thoughts on having anything like this at home. It’s like running a mini factory in your home for some extremely sensitive non-native colorful fish
Thanks. And just imagine the work that it’ll take to keep a healthy reef tank ;)
@@TMKAquarist galactic from my POI, no doubt you put in time! Real quality time !
Not complex !?? 🤦🏻♂️ this setup definition of beyond complex Finally discovered what’s underneath that mesmerizing, hypnotic tip of the iceberg aka Grotto 😢
Haha I guess I’m comparing it to reef tanks. It was complicated for me when I first started tinkering with the setup, but I’ve just gotten used to it by now I guess, so it doesn’t seem complicated to me anymore
@@TMKAquarist oh yes! Am just few years into this hobby and when I see such live creations it’s just so much to process and seems impossible for me to ever be in such a position ever, really! You are gifted and blessed no doubt 🙌🏼
Have to get a pilots license first then license to drive the system 😂. I'm happy watering my lawn with water change.
