Moel Siabod Wild Camp via Daear Ddu Ridge
In this video myself and the lads head for a wildcamp on Moel Siabod. The parking is great massive carpark with alot spots. Nearby is a nice few small waterfalls and then you start to make the ascent near some houses and a farm. Once through the farm it then opens up and you follow a path to little body of water. Once passed the water you then head up through the old quarry there. After the quarry its a small incline up and then drop down to some water but once you hit here make sure you stay to the left as its very boggy (thank me later) Now its time for Daear Ddu Ridge. Awesome scramble this and you can make it as ebay or as hard as you want. Once you top out the summit is a few meteres away. We pitched just over the summit facing the snowdown range. In my eyes its one the best views in North Wales. The weather wasn't brilliant and the views came and went. Sunrise was average with some pink clouds but the wind was starting to pick up. It was time to pack up and head back down to the car. Once we were heading back down to the car I got the new wind meter out and recorded some gusts of 49mph. I was trying so see the difference between a cheap wind meter and a more pricey one. I hope you enjoy this one as much as i did and ill see you on the next one.

@@iamchriswhelan I’m thinking of selling mine and just using my Duomid all winter. Although it’s massive inside the Trailstar, I find the angle of the walls a bit too shallow so I tend to catch them With either my head or my feet when I’m lying down. That’s the only issue I have with it really. Anyway, all the best mate 👍

Me and my friends camped up their sane night just below can see us in the distance on the right at 7:15 lol i seen a shooting star that night first one ever. Alot of people walked by shouting and laughing really loud even shining lazer pens at us.

Yeh I agree man, I like camping on them but I do love pitching where I can see some sexy mountains 👌 Hope your good man. All the best.
Nice one as always Chris, that looked like an ace pitch. Shame about the noisy neighbours though 🤨You mentioned maps and i have always been a stickler for a map and compass and if i ever go anywhere new i spend quite a bit of time studying the map before i set off but recently i thought i would try one of those Garmin watches so i bought a Fenix 6 off eBay just to see how i got on with it and i absolutely loved it and got that excited about all the bells and whistles i ended up selling it for the same price a couple of weeks later and now have the Fenix 7 Pro solar which again i bought it off eBay for 400 quid and its in mint condition. Its got a torch on it too that floodlights a tent or you can have it as a red light too. The main reason i chose that model was because of the torch and the safety feature whereby you can alert 3 different people if it goes tits up or the watch will do it for you if it senses an impact like a fall. It just made more sense having all those bells and whistles for a one-off payment rather than buying a Garmin in reach and being on a monthly bank bleed. You can find some great deals on the Fenix 7 at the moment because the Fenix 8 has recently been released so all the keeping up with the Jones types are selling them off to fund the 8.I am a bit late to the party with GPS toys but glad i am there now. Love this matey. I've had Garmin watches since the fenix 3 came out wayyyy back. I've now got the same as you and for those exact reasons about safety. Also I do a fair abit of running so it's great for tracking that. The way I use my maps is on my phone on an app called outdoor active. Awesome app, it's about £25 for the year for OS maps. So when it's white out or clagged in I use these to navigate off the mountain safely. I always download all the maps incase I don't have signal aswell and works amazing. Should have a look into that app man.

No mate, the best view of Snowdon IMO is from Rhinog Fach some 20 miles away, with a long lens, above a cloud inversion at dawn 😃 Ha. Loved the long sunset drone shot in the middle, and a bold editing move leaving it long like that. Brilliant. And waking up to some proper Glyders weather there! Said it before I’ll say it again…. Massively underrated channel. Cheers mate

Big question. Nallo or trailstar?
Good question. All depends on the conditions as I love both. In summer I hate the bugs and with the trailstar open and that. I won't use the trailstar till spring now. Nallo is such a class tent

I'm local so that's a favourite little last minute pitch for me as it's so quick to get up to being less than 2 miles from the road, I shoot Fuji too and find they're definitely cameras which are a lot of fun to take pictures with, Dafydd is quicker to get to than it looks, you'd get there in under half an hour easy and you're pronunciation isn't too far off, I've heard a lot worse! Just be aware most of that area is a drone free zone including the whole of Pen Yr Ole Wen.
Mist be mint being so local to that are man as it's one of the best places in north Wales. Yeh the Fuji is so cool to shoot with aswell man. So cool that I've sold all my Sony gear now. Dafydd is definitely on the cards soon man. Thanks for stopping by man 👍
