Thanks for having me on the channel as a special guest haha. Was an adventure an half camping in those conditions mate. Glad we braved the weather and went out. Top video really enjoyed watching. Atb mate 🤙🏼
Cracking video as always mate! Some beauty footage! Mad the difference between the night and morning but what a crazy night that was! Nice to bump into you’s two on the way up ‘small world’ 🤣👌🏼 glad to see the tents doing their jobs. We will get that WINTER camp in very soon 😜 ATB mate keep them coming 😁
Was class to see you again lad and definitely get a Wales camp in very soon. Was a proper a decent camp with abit of everything. Appreciate your support 👍
Another great video, you touched it you ain’t been 😂 I’m the guy who saw you running along the canal and I shouted “ hey I watch you on UA-cam 😂” been wild camping myself for about 10 years and love it , just bought myself the vern 1 can’t wait to try it . Thanks bro keep getting out
Ah nice one man. Appreciate your support on the videos. Glad you enjoyed wild camping yourself. Nice one on the new tent hope it treats you well and thanks for watching 👍
Just watched Richard’s video then yours popped up too. Looked a mental camp that. Nowt like abit wind and rain to get the blood going 😂. Cracking video as always Chris, ATVB Robert
Great video as always Chris. Those Kuiu Storm Stars are Air Raid shelters mate. I was in my Nammatj last winter in fairly strong winds and although the Nammatj handled it well i got the usual flappery that you get with Hilly kerlon Sil nylon but my mate was in the Kuiu Storm Star and it didnt budge an inch., i mean barely a ripple in the fabric. They perform like expedition standard base camp tents that weigh a lot more. As impressive as they are i dont think i will get one simply because i find Hillys are heavy enough for my liking as far as what i am prepared to lug around especially for a one or 2 nighter and the wind noise never bothers me because i have got ringing in my ears so the wind cancels that out. The other reason that puts me off too is because you can compress the Nallo and the Nammatj much smaller and Tunnel tents can be pitched super quickly and personally in freezing cold wet , windy weather having the ability to get a tent pitched quickly and get inside is more of a priority than carrying around something heavier and more pack bulk. If you want to avoid the flappery and sensations that come with the Hilly inners then i dont think you could find a better tent than the Kuiu at that price point and that weight . As far as longevity goes i am have no idea about the Kuiu so again if i had to choose it would be the Hillys for that reason. Also if you are doing a hike that involves scrambles in gullys etc then personally i want to be light and fast ....Its always a choice of whats the right tool for the job really so when your Mrs says stuff like "You have already got a good tent" , tell her from me that you need at least 5 to cover all bases 😜
Wow thanks for that comment Plan. I completely agree with you around the weight of tents man. There sometimes has to be a limit and also we need to protect our knees and hips aswell get older so if we can keep the pack weight down then great. But yeh I don't think I'll get one anyways coz I just don't think I'll get the use out of it and I love the Nallo to much. Thanks for watching 👍
@iamchriswhelan your welcome Chris. If i was going on a trip where i needed a base camp such as an ice climbing trip in Scotland then i would prefer a KUIU but for what i do most of i have my boxes ticked . Very impressive tent though. I will give your mate a sub 👍
Inspiring me to get out mate. I need to get back on it all, just haven't had the time recently. Your videos are getting even better btw keep up the great work. Atb Bob.
Appreciate that my videos inspire you to get out. Those mountains aren't going anywhere are they so sure you'll get out in good time. Thanks for the support 👊
Great video Chris. Cracking set up with the Nallo2. I saw you mentioned in the comments to a previous video that you were swapping over to a Fujifilm X-T3. How are you finding it after using a Sony?
Aye man my favourite setup that Nallo man. After getting with those side winds of over 40mph I'm impressed. Yes mate I have moved over to Fuji now. I only use it for photos. I mainly got it for the film simulations that it does. I prefer it to Sony. Better out of camera colours, lighter, cheaper lenses and probs more reasons to like it.
@belowaveragewildcamper Yeh it's probs does man and I agree full frame is overkill. I film on the DJI pocket 3 and the action 5 pro. Pocket 3 is class in low light man, better than my eyes haha
Thanks for having me on the channel as a special guest haha. Was an adventure an half camping in those conditions mate. Glad we braved the weather and went out. Top video really enjoyed watching. Atb mate 🤙🏼
Cheers for joining us man. I really enjoyed this camp. Good to build trust with the tent isn't it man. Until the next camp 👊
Nice video Chris, loved the northern lights Timelapse and always nice to see another kuiu becoming pretty popular now.
Yeh they seem to becoming more popular don't they. Been looking at one myself to be honest. Glad you enjoyed the video mate and thanks for watching 👍
Fantastic light and mood in those drone shots 👍🙂
Glad you enjoyed the video matey 👍

Mint video mate. What a night that was! Great to bump into you and Richard on the way up and hopefully we can sort a camp out sometime 👍
Cheers matey. Yeh cracking night wasn't it man. Same to you and am sure we can sort out a Wales camp one weekend. Thanks for watching 👍
Some views there. Great video!
Aye man. Awesome pitch. Thanks for watching 👊
Nice video mate. Tent looks cracking. Quite similar looking to my Abisko Lite 2, but obviously fancier!
Thanks for watching matey. Yeh there very similar tents man just with a few different features here and there. One of my favourite tents the Nallo.

Just subbed 👍🏻 cracking video 🥾⛺️
Glad you enjoyed it matey and thanks for the sub 👊
Great video again mate and that timelapse with the northern lights 😮
Cheers big lad. Yeh took me by surprise in the morning watching it back. Thanks for watching 👊
Must get out in the storm star again....or sell it!
It's a really good solid tent and I enjoyed seeing it shrug off the wind. Yeh you must get out in it again 👍

@ aye, full frame cameras are probably overkill aren’t they. I bet the X-T3 still knocks out some class video in low light.
