On the underground it takes a minimum of 12 weeks to qualify as a driver. As for the Green signals. Some of them are co-acting signals and some are repeater signals. Hence why you may see more than one Green at some locations

"Rabbitting on" is actually good practise when you're doing a safety critical job and you're talking about the things you need to consider to do it correctly (speed, signals, braking action in your case). I've been on lots of safety courses, and you're often told to vocalise what you're thinking about as a way of ensuring you've not overlooked anything important.

I find this thing about having to book specific seats on specific trains at specific times really grating. In the eighties you got your ticket and headed out. Return journey you could break out whenever you fancied for a bit of spotting. Even outbound journey, so long as you didn't leave BR premises. All of the fun of rail travel has been eradicated. Just jump on the next passing train and no one had any issues.

HI Dale, Enjoying your new video. One thing I was curious about, the 4 rails for the train I know you have mentioned before that 2 rails are for the train running plus 2 rails supplying the power. You may have covered my query before, but I have noticed there are breaks/gaps in the power rails especialy near switch points. How does the train continue over the breaks in the supply rails when I gather there a loss of power at these spots? Regards Tony Hallam, Sydney Australia

For many years, the Piccadilly Line trains on the branch via Alperton used to mainly terminate at Rayners Lane, with trains only continuing to Uxbridge in the rush hours. These days, although there are still more Met trains between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge, the section gets a regular service of through trains on the Piccadilly.

I wouldn't worry about there being anything "interesting" in a video, Dale. Or about rabbiting on. Personally, I watch your videos to get out of the house on a mini-trip without actually leaving the comfort of a convenient kettle. And having a commentary, even if it's not about anything important, keeps the mind occupied. I have watched cab view videos without commentary and they can become less engaging if there's nothing but silence for an extended time. Also don't worry about repeating things you've said in previous videos. There's always going to be a fist time viewer who's never heard it before. ;)
