Ideal combi no heating after topping up the system pressure
Переглядів 70 тис.4 роки тому
If you’ve just topped up the system pressure on your Ideal boiler and now the heating doesn’t work it may be that you’ve turned the wrong valve and left it turned. The far left and far right black valves under the boiler should be pointing upwards. If either of them are horizontal it will block the water flow to your radiators.
Frozen condensate drain
Переглядів 4636 років тому
If the boiler has stopped and needs resetting and the temperature outside is freezing it’s probably got a frozen condensate drain. This is the plastic pipe outside at the back of your boiler. It is NOT the copper pipe!! You could try pouring hot water over it or just pulling the pipe off until the weather gets better. Hope this helps 😀

Hi my name is Dave at G20 Gas a Services in Manchester. I've been installing the Glow Worm Flexicom combi boiler since 2008 and have installed over 500 of them! These are a fantastic boiler in general but like all boilers they have their faults namely the F9 fault. Most of the time this can be cured by simply topping up the pressure! If you need help on doing this watch my other video that show...

Topping up the system pressure on a Glow Worm Flexicom Boiler
Just saved me calling out a service engineer. Top tip.👍
Thankyou
Thank you for this! Lost pressure earlier this week then couldn't get the radiators hot. This is a life saver !
Superstar. I topped the boiler and didn’t realise I’d moved that tap! Cheers.
How can I set this to simply keep the house at a constant temperature of 22 degrees c
Thank you for this video, i was waiting for emergency engineer to come and it was literally this little tap that was the problem 😂 you are a legend 👍🏼
thanks a lot. spot on. I did the exact same mistake and just turned the black tap to correct position and it started working. Saved on a call out charge. thanks thanks thanks a lot...
Thanks so much! it was a different set up (flexible silver pipe between 2 black valves). But it gave me the confidence to check the manual and do it myself. Thanks!
Cheers for doing this mate 😃👍
Thanks you saved my life today
Is it really beyond Manufacturers to design a thermostat that doesn’t require a lecture to operate???
What does it mean if it comes up with n03 as having trouble starting my boiler as the thermostat downstairs staying OF
I don’t know but try pressing a paper clip in the reset button (little RS hole)
🎉
Best video I've seen so far
it really did the trick for me, thanks for sharing
Thank you solved my problem 🍻
Thanks a million. Very helpful 🤩
This video just saved me!! Thank you so much!!
You sir are a legend , many thanks
Glad to help 👍
Thank you sooo much🎉
Thanks. Worked. Serious problem caused by a silly mistake.
Thanks Dave , you fix worked , i could't see the pressure or get pump run if i had not seen your vid i would still be at it , thanks again .
Always come back to this video as I always forget what to do. Cheers again.
Check the Propshaft Donut coupling joint which if faulty or riddled with cracks will cause the same issue, mine juddered badly in first and reverse, my mechanic checked mine and it was full of cracks in the rubber, changed it and it drives as new with zero judder.
Thank you so much for this, that’s exactly what I had done, you’re a life saver!
great glad it helped
Legend!!! Thanks mate
Thank You, very helpful. We arrived at an Airbnb at 2am after being stuck in traffic for 5 hours and boiler wasn’t working and house freezing. Rather than contacting owners and waking them, I found this video and it worked a treat! What happens if pressure is goes slightly over 2!!? Thank You!
Don’t worry it will be fine. It sounds like they need to have the boiler serviced. Glad it helped
You're a life saver. Thakou
Thank you so much. This video saved me.
Mate you just saved my day, you are an absolute legend.
Glad it helped 👍
The black valve on my boiler is horizontal but I can’t move it. The little “flame” comes on for about 10 seconds and then disappears. DHW is fine and the temperature on both DHW and CH is turned up but still no heating at all. Any thoughts?
Hi if it’s horizontal it won’t work it needs to be vertical. If it’s too stiff try using some pliers or similar and watch the video to see which direction to turn it. It will turn. Hope that helps
@@DaveLane1964 thank you! Hubs gave it a pull and it’s finally rectified. My house is warming up and my children are happy. You are an actual life saver! The amount of people you would have helped with this is insane. I wish you all the best 😊

Just to echo the previous comments, thankyou so much. Been trawling the internet and can't believe this was the answer to my lack of central heating.
Thanks for your comments and glad it worked 👍
Thank you, that was the case with me, thank you again
Just saved my bacon ...thank you...I did exactly this
😂 it’s very easily done 👍
Thanks for the video. We've had some work done in the house and had to top up the boiler, we've been weeks trying to work out whats happened and yes my plonker of a husband turned the wrong valve. You have saved us 🎉 thank you young sir haha
😂great glad it helped 👍
Top man, thanks
Thank you! Very helpful 😊
What a legend you are mate 🎉

Thanks for this, interstingly, that tap is vertical… boiler has hot water but no heating arghh Upon first switch on a week ago it heated and then gone. Drained water from rads then topped up it started and in 10s switched off again. Any ideas
Is the tap on the far left side of the boiler also vertical? Also do you have a room thermostat and is that turned up?
@@DaveLane1964 thanks for reply, thermostat was clicking. Played with some manual timer settings and it started working magically 😎
The best 1 minute video on UA-cam ever - Thanks so much for posting !
