Reflex Stick Punching Bag Assembly and First Impressions
Bought a Reflex Stick from Title Shot Sports.
titleshotpro.com/reflex-stick
CSquared Boxing UA-cam channel turned me on to this piece of exercise equipment since I do not have a place to set up a double end bag at my new apartment.
Assembly is straight forward and only requires a Philips screwdriver.
The punching bag is actually smaller than a double end bag, so it does require more practice but it will probably make me a more accurate and faster puncher.
Recommend punching the Reflex Stick bag using bag gloves because it can hurt your fist if you hit it with bare knuckles. Also, using gloves is probably how you will probably fight when you do get in the boxing ring if you plan to transfer your skills to actual sparring.
Overall, nice piece of exercise equipment and I expect to get a lot of practice with it in the future.

The instructions that came with it were pretty bad and the videos that I found were not sufficiently detailed, but I was able to find UA-cam videos about the flintlock builds. The next build should be much better and will incorporate everything that I learned so far.

      Isn't the powder flask measure supposed to be used for measuring powder. Ball went in the barrel relatively easily - do I need a ball starter? I am still learning these things, but I did find out that pouring directly from the powder flask is dangerous, so I will not do that again.

    • @JerrySmith-qg3cd
      @JerrySmith-qg3cd 4 місяці тому

      You need to use a powder measure that is completely separate from any powder horn or flask to avoid possible explosion if there is an ember left in the barrel from the prior shot. If you use a patch around the ball, you will get better accuracy. Also, shooting a loose ball will cause the barrel to foul quicker. Be sure to use a lubed patch to help with loading and to keep the fouling soft. A short starter is very helpful to get a tight ball/patch on the way down. You'll get there, just be safe!

Would have cool if Americans used this weapon often for close quarter ambush’s against the British during the revolutionary war.

    Pistols like that are only made for about 10 yd. Not bad for self-defense, especially if it's all you're allowed to use. I have a black powder revolver which I am considering downgrading to one of these. It looks like it's a lot easier to clean. You said meters, what country are you in? Hopefully you're not in a country that regulates these as firearms. And they are afraid to trade.

      You are correct about the 10 yards. Also tried the pistol at 15 and 25m. The group is larger than the target black circle even when shooting from a rest. Using patches tightens the group, but anything past 15m is still off paper. I am in the Western U.S., but most of the ranges that I can shoot are either on military bases and graduated in meters. The there is a 10% difference between meters and yards. 10m = 11yards

    the kits are made where you have to fit and finish them. Sanding to make it all work well. That screw you left loose? Would work correctly if you had just fit parts correctly. There are instructions for a reason. Loading: You are using a revolver load of powder, not nearly enough for this pistol, sooner or later you are going to have a ball not make it out. Ball for your .45 should be a .435 roundball WITH a cloth patch. What you are doing is dangerous. NEVER, not ever load your powder with the powder flask. The one you have is again for a revolver. load the proper amount into a brass or whatever material measure that is NOT attached to the flask. Again, a revolver is different. You should be loading fff pistol powder using 40 to 60 or more grains of powder. That puppy should kick and make a blue cloud of awesomeness.... Are you using black powder or did you buy modern gunpowder? If you did, get rids of it because someone will be harmed or killed.

    • @oddrocket2743
      @oddrocket2743 6 місяців тому

      I followed the instructions and dry fitted everything before LocTiting and screwing it down but there was no mention of that screw in either the paper or in what I found on Google. The instructions say to use 20 to 60 grains of FF or FFF powder. I used 20 grains of Pyrodex RS which is supposedly FF equivalent. Is there a reason that the flask is not good to measure with and what do you recommend for measuring in its place? I read on line that people historically used oversized bullets if they did not have paper cartridges and that you can use .454 to .458 balls in .45 caliber without a patch. Is this inaccurate and is the load of 20 grains of Pyrodex RS with a .458 bullet unsafe? What can I do to make it safer while still keeping it historically accurate? Sorry if some of the questions may seem stupid, but I am still learning. Thanks

      You are correct. That small lip of wood can and does break. It's a known problem of the design. The easiest way to reinforce the area. Is to drill 1 or 2 small holes into the front edge of that lip lengthwise into the stock. Then epoxy small steel or brass rod even a small drill bit into the hole. This will eliminate breakage.

    • @oddrocket2743

      You have to make one long loop which you then fold 4 times. Then you insert the spoon or the stick and you put a screw through on one side which you twist a little then keep tight. The head of the screw dug into the wood and kept it from twisting all of the way. The other side, I used a smooth rod so that I can twist it with a pair of Channel Lock pliers until I had enough tension, then I inserted a screw to keep it from unraveling. My Catapult vs Onager video shows some of this starting at 0:35 Hope this helps!

    Load and cap the pistol with the hammer down. It keeps Air from getting in keeping an ember hot in that chamber. You don't want to dump a fresh charge on top of that. Then after you pour in your charge and ram the ball, HALF cock , and cap. Only go to full cock when you are ready to fire. Not trying to bust your chops. But I've been muzzle loading a long time and needless accidents happen like that. Nice Pistol. Thanks for the video. Be safe

      Appreciate the tip. Did not think about it. That is a very good point about not feeding air to potential embers!

      @@oddrocket2743 You're welcome. On another note, I've never tried to fire my Kentucky Pistol (.50 cal) with no patch. I know yours is a 45 cal, but what diameter ball did you use. I would like to try it for my .50 cal but all I have is .490" round ball, I'll probably need a little bigger ball.

      @@deerslayer303B The balls I used are .454 and .457 which are actually meant for .44 caliber revolvers, but work for .45s because they are sufficiently oversized to stay tight when I push them down. I read that pirates in general did not use patches and just wanted to see if it would work. A similar sizing for a .50 caliber pistol would be a .508 or .510 caliber ball, but I can only find molds on line and no one that casts that caliber ball. I think my next pistol will be a .54 caliber percussion pistol so I can use the same balls as my rifle. If you are willing to cast your own balls, you can try the .510s or you can try the .520s which are made for .54s but I don't know how safe the pressure would be.

    You need real black powder for the best results!

    I have 2 of that exact rifle. A couple of things to consider are to put a small dot of white out on the tip of the front sight so you can see it better in low light. Second, get yourself a fiberglass ram rod to use at the range, instead of using the wooden one. The wooden one can break. Better to just take that rod hunting. It's a great rifle, mine are accurate out to 100 yds..

    MRE 패키지 안에서 접시와 스포크가 담긴 봉지만 제거한 뒤 그대로 발열제의 끈을 당겨서 데워야 합니다 발열제를 꺼내서 데우면 충분히 온도가 올라가지 않아요

    Where did you buy the pistol? Also, I wear a size large glove and to me the grip looks rather small, however, it seems to fit your hand very well. Just something to consider before ordering.

      I bought it at muzzle-loaders.com . My glove size is medium, so I think the grip is made to fit medium size hands.

    Interesting. What's the maximum range for "minute of drink can" accuracy?

      The big wheeled cannon can go close to 4 feet before you start getting frustrated trying to hit a Guiness can because of lateral error. The cannon has a small screw under the breech which allows you to adjust the elevation also which you have to play with at different ranges, but the BB does not drop much in 4 feet.
