Packing Camera Gear | Carry On and Personal Item Bags
In this video, I pack up all my camera gear I am taking with me for a trip to Norway for 14 days. As a photographer / filmmaker you're always trying to pack up all the gear you think you'll need and for most of us we don't check our bags so everything has to fit in our carry on and personal item allowance.
This is what I do and it's worked great for me over the years. Let me know how you pack! This was filmed on the @insta360 X4 .

Canon RF Zoom Lenses | 16-35, 24-105 Z and 100-500 PERFECT COMBO
Переглядів 4862 місяці тому
In this video I share my Holy Trinity of Canon RF Zoom Lenses. My three lenses are the Canon RF 15-35 2.8, the Canon 24-105 2.8 USM Z, and the Canon 100-500 4.5-7.1 IS. I believe these three Canon Zoom Lenses are the perfect combo to cover everything you'd ever need to shoot. They're all sharp, fast and easy to use. I'm happy I switched over to the RF lens system from EF, it took some time buy ...
Herring Spawn 2024 | Vancouver Island

It has been a dream of mine since moving to Vancouver Island to witness the herring spawn in full swing in the Comox, Hornby Island area. After 3 years of missing it, I finally was able to go out with my friend and amazing guide Captain Pete from the ssfunship.com/ to finally see it in real life. If you're unaware, each year in March these small fish about 7-10" in length amass by the thousands...

    Few things you missed and for people to note… 1st make sure the threads are 100% clean of any dirt or debris before you start. ALWAYS add a small amount of grease to the part of the thread you’re working on AND the same section opposite of the bend where the other part of the tool will be. This will help guide the tool and reduce friction. DO NOT turn the tool around the threads as was done in this video! That’s not how this tool is used! This tool is only used in the section you’re working on. Also DO NOT start directly at the center of the bend. The goal is to massage the metal slowly. 1) line up the tool in the thread right BESIDE the part your working on. Ensure the tool in in the threads and loose the tool just enough to turn it slightly into the bent. DO NOT try to force it over the entire bend. 2) once your slightly on the start of the bend, expand the tool slightly. 3) repeat the same steps on the other side of the bend. Keep alternating until you get to the center of the bend. The goal it to slowly work the outside of the bend inwards. You shouldn’t be moving the tool around or touching any other part of the threads. If the bend is very deep, you can use a thick piece of rubber. material between the tool to bend it out to a manageable position then follow the above steps. And remember- if for some reason you cross the threads, it’s an easy fix when it was just in one section. It’s a totally different issue when messed up all the threads.

    Been using this for 4 days now. It is small enough in my pocket that I use it more regularly than my phone camera. And because I love how wide angles give new looks and styles. I'm not a photographer. But it's very easy to use for a dummy like me to use it as a basis every day to show off on social media😁

    Amazing video.. but so many options... I have a RF 15-35 2.8, RF 100-500 F4 and was going to get the RF 70-200 2.8 as I am hoping to go on different safaris the next few years but now I wonder if I should get this lens instead as it would cover me from 24-105 and I can use my 100-500 F4 after ( although not at 2.8 ). Any thoughts to help make a decision? I mainly do wildlife photography ( I am fairly new at it obviously )..

    great video mate, loved the ending :))) would u recommend getting 24-70 f2.8 along with 70-200 f2.8 instead of this lense ? i have the canon r3 and do a lot ofhybrid shooting. the only thing that scares me is the size and weight of the 24-105

    • @geoffheith
      @geoffheith 4 місяці тому

      I have the 15-35 the 24-105 and the 100-500 so that’s my set up. However if I didn’t have the 100-500 I’d do the 24-70 2.8 and the 70-200 like you suggested that’s most common for most people I think. The 70-200 RF though shorter is only 2 oz lighter in weight to take that into consideration.

    I’ve had mine for about a month now primarily on the C70 and love it. Pretty much the perfect focal range and speed for shooting fast paced vérité both for docs and corporate branded content pieces. I also totally agree about the IS being next level. It’s a noticeable improvement from even the existing RF lenses. Yesterday I found myself shooting a 40 minute long interview take with it on an Easy Rig. On playback it looks like it’s locked off on sticks.
