Make your digital pictures look like film!

  • In this video I go do a photoshoot at the Nahwitti River Trail on North Vancouver Island testing out a lens I made out of an old fuji disposable camera. It's a simple DIY project that yields some fun results. The lens is a fixed 35mm lens with an f11 aperture and focus distance of probably 5 feet or so. It's a funny pairing with a modern day mirrorless camera but it can be fun to pull out to goof around with. Some companies are charging $50-100 plus shipping. You can do this for almost free with an old lens cap and $15 disposable camera if you cant find a used one.

    It's film that gives a film look with its grain, tonal range, and color rendition. A lens is just a lens is just a lens and depending on its design and flaws like distortion, aberration, coma, and whatnot it imparts a certain look whether the image is taken on film or with a sensor.

      Agree, however for what Im doing here the lens plays a big roll. Thanks for the comment.
