How to grease your outer crank bearings on your #skidoo #MXZ #800HO PTek (Shown via a cutaway case)
In this video i show in great in detail via a cutaway crankcase how to properly grease your outer crank bearings in a 2007 Skidoo MXZ Renegade X 800HO PTek snowmobile. Both pto & mag side is shown. This can be done without removing your pto crank seal & does a much better job.
This method should work on all 800HO's possibly the 800R also you'll just need to verify that your engine has the nipple & your mag bolt holes go all the way through on your stator as shown in this video.

Where did you get that connector kit? That’s a sweet kit!
Where do you get the UV flake at having a hard time finding it. Great video taught me so much on how to make my own doors. Totally in it because of you. Thanks a lot for all your help. Keep making videos, best wishes.
If my snowmobile has a battery, can I just connect to that?
You can but problem is it will always be live. I would tap into something that only has power when the machine is running. You should have some available power points somewhere. Try Googleing & see if someone shows where. If not tail light circuit works its a low power draw.
Does this apply to the 800r 2008 as well?
@@kjellamundsen1463 Yes im pretty sure it does. If its the same looking setup deffinatly. You want pay xtra close attention to those bearings i inspect before every ride. Pto/clutch side watch for any grease/oil leaking behind the clutch. Mag sides little more of a pain you need to pull the recoil to visually inspect that side. And keep in mind this is only outer seal inspection there's no way to tell if the inners are seeping besides watching for the excessive smoke on start up especially 1st start of the season. Make sure you dont over grease them too be careful dont force it in and blow that inner seal out. Even adding a 1/4 of whats recommended a couple times a season would be good insurance without the risk of over doing it. I have no clue how capable you are mechanicaly so im trying to steer you right on this👊 If your unsure of anything dig into it research it hard ask questions make darn sure you understand before doing anything. Good luck & have a safe season man👊
@@Betterthanbought. thanks I appreciate your respons. I am capable and will get on with it before the season for peace of mind I guess. Mine have run about 5000km /3500 miles but I know bearings have never been greased up since new. Also being a 2008 the grease will probaby dry out from aging alone.
@@kjellamundsen1463 No problem man. Make sure you get the isoflex from a dealer too. Most the stuff on e ba y & such is just white lithium its a huge scam with that stuff🤦♂️. I think i would find out how much they recommend to put for your year & i would do half of it. Ride half the season then do the 2nd half then. Just to be easy on everything no pressure on those inner seals ect. Little xtra work but i would think of it as insurance.
can I buy your already made molds? Want to make my own but dont know how
can I buy your mold?
In SWFL Gulf, the typical grouper line is 50lb leader, 5/0 hooks and 5oz weights. If I used 100+ lb mono leaders for bottom fishing grouper, I'd NEVER catch a grouper. I love your videos! They're accurate and informative.
Absolutely i wouldn't use these in the gulf either 40/50lb fluro & longer length back their ill usually go 75' maybe even a 100' depending but i dont fish the gulf much unless offshore is nasty & im forced too basically. This is what we'll use off the ocean side/east coast off the keys. Mainly drifting wrecks, reefs & ledges with my family. The kids just arent there yet so i rig heavy otherwise im tying on rigs all day its tough but its a family trip type thing so is what it is until they sharpen those skills. We're getting them there though. Hope yall are having a good season gona be murked up for awhile after that storm🤦♂️ Stay safe out there bud & thanks for stopping by & sharing some info we appreciate that👊🙏
Sorry mono stretches and will create the snake like effect on your braid later ... Use the Anaconda knot no mono no tape..

Hello Sir,I think I mistakenly bought the smaller Yozuri Bonito,I realise it doesn't really go deep when trolling, can I use a sinker with it to get it down there? Thanks
You absolutely can i would recommend a cigar style trolling weight with a 50' mono leader between the sinker & bonita. This means you'll need to hand line the keader but it will get it down for ya. Another option would be planer setup. Go get em boss👊🙌🙌
@Betterthanbought. Thanks very much I didn't realise you use a planer with these as an option, I have a 4 and going to purchase a 6 as we speak. Thanks again.
Dont wanna touch lead, but hold on let me dry sand some real quick!
You should probably just stay indoors my guy if your that soft. Grown man goin around whining on youtube😅😅 smh.

Where do you find aluminum pipe
That was an old boat trailer guide post i had laying around. But any metal/fabrication place heck maybe Lowes or HD. You just want thick wall aluminum pipe with no dents or bends. Cut then deburr the ends really well slightly chamfer them actually or the leads wont drop out easily. And be careful. Thanks for stopping by. Go make you some up👊🙌🙌
Great video, I hope you have enough room for your top shot.
Yaa couple ppl wondered that. These are our high speed setups specifically for trolling for wahoo. I packed it on there but new it wasn't as tight as it could be. Once we got to the keys i let out about 3/4 of it hooked to a num4 planer doing 8 knotts & cranked it all back in only used a half gal of sweat😅 & then i had plenty of room for my 50' wind on. Was a gamble i knew it was stuffed but i wanted every inch i could get & it worked out. Good eye man you have a clue unlike alot of the commenters that just dont understand or even care to ask what the setups used for. lol. A guy using a shock cord & cigar weight wouldn't use a topshot or wind-on or even wind on the shock cord so he could stuff it real good. But ppl dont ask or understand most times. Tight lines to ya my friend & be safe out there🙏🙏 appreciate you stopping by the channel👊
It's called a R-clip , Because it looks like the Letter "R" , good information video tho 👌.
Shouldn’t you be using American Made line on your American Made reel?
Absolutely & with your wallet i would. We're not all rich & unfortunately for me i have to wait for the sales. This was a killer deal so on it went. Its quality line regardless. Does matter to me i buy alot of usa products but i cant always do it man🤷♂️. Sorry to disappoint ya👊
I sure miss your videos.
I really wish I could contact you as I have a bunch of questions about a lot of your videos!!! Love the content!!
I like your video nice and informative i just think you should change the rod running braid i wouldnt use that rod the wheels dont work well with braid maybe change it to a strong rod with just the holes instead of the one with the wheels would be alot better for trolling and turning youre lures will straighten up quicker
Ya i agree most full roller setups dont work well with braid especially with the xtra wide reels. That said these rods have a different wheel setup than most so the line cant get stuck beside the wheels like most setups do. Its made/designed specifically for braided line & i have never had a single issue with any of them. We actually have a few of these setups & fish them hard. I have had them for several yrs now & couldn't be happier with them. There specifically setup for high speed trolling for wahoo mainly with plainers & not used for anything else. Mono is too thick for this application it causes too much drag aka line scope stopping baits/lures from diving deep at h8gher speeds. The thin braid is a must have. But to each their own my friend. I appreciate you checking out the channel. Tight lines & stay safe out there👊🙏
I just put a150 lb braid on my penn 309 for fishing of the holyoke bridge for stripers and shad plus sometimes you hook onto a monster sturgeon I wish I would have known what I just learned so far my biggest striper is 50 lbs 10oz unbelievable fight when your a 100 feet off the water I lost a 12 to 15 foot. Sturgeon I played for 3 hrs then broke me off I was heartbroken. That's why I went to 150 lb test I was using 80 no more that my fish story but true !!!!!!!!!! Thank for the information!!!!!!
sir what material are your molder are made?thank you
R is the same thing. You can also buy the “grease buddy” for the Mag and PTO side. It goes on the tube you showed on the PTO side and a bolt with a hole in the mag side. Then you can grease them with ease.
Look up teamhardlife his anaconda knot he made with hollow core braid doesn’t not slip
I follow him already but haven't seen that knot. I will most definitely check it out. Appreciate the suggestion👊🙏.
Great job. I'd like to thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Where is your reel seat? You got to have that .
Its in the reel box. We live in maine & we fly all this equipment to the keys in the belly of a jet each fall. Once down south everything gets setup properly. Thanks for stopping by👊 tight lines
Hell yea bro thanks same to you.
As others have posted great video it would be helpful to get the pipe lengths as I would love to make a few.
What species are you trying to catch with these 7/0 in-line double hook rigs?
There for pelagic trolling lures used for Wahoo Mahi Marlin, Sailfish ect. Personally i just use them for Wahoo but we always pick up mahi also. They help prevent short strikes/misses when high speed trolling. Good for squid skirted & mylar skirted lures. Cant run double hooks with anything flashabou skirted they'll tangled up bad you'll want a single hook far back for flashabou. Hope that helps. Apologies for the pathetically slow reply.
What rod is that?
Sounds like you are from Maine or Canada.
Does anybody know the correct amount for the PTO side? I just rebuilt the lower end but I had a hard time getting the inner pto bearing. So I have a little bit of Isoflex left over that I’d like to inject in.
10-15 ml is what it is said to be correct for a refill on the pto side. Ive done 10ml without any problems. Just dont overdue it or force it in otherwise you risk blowing out the seal. Good luck.
А вертлюги какой мощности(lb/кг.) ?
I love this ❤
Great video thank you
Anytime man. Just realized i responded from my other account my bad. Happy Holidays to you & yours my friend.
Do you pull your seal off before you add the grease so that the pressure from pushing it in has a place to go? I’ve heard about the inner seal for the outer bearings could blow out. I’m about to grease my bearings on a rev 500, and was just curious if I had to worry. Basically I’m wondering if I’m able to just put the grease through that port you show, while turning over the motor slowly, with the seal on
No concerns unless you put too much in there. Dont force it go slow & slowly rotate as you said. Keep the isoflex inside/warm it will make things much easier. If your concerned put in half what they recommend go on a good ride then add 2nd half👍 Ppl that just force it in quickly or use too much can definitely push it past the seal & cause major issues. Follow the guidelines you'll be good to go. Now if your super fussy & have no problem yanking the clutch then sure drive a acrew into the seal pull it wipe out all old grease then do it from that end & replace the seal. But again dont overdue it or when you go to seat the new seal hydraulic pressure will blow the inner seal out as your saying. Sounds like you have a good idea about it all so i would suggest doing whichever way you feel most comfortable with👊 Thanks for stopping by the channel & happy trails my friend.
@@thegreatgreennorth9983 thank you, I appreciate the input!
@@thegreatgreennorth9983what about injecting half of grease slowly into the nipple side with the seal off (while turning motor slowly), and then the other half putting into the face of the outer bearing (once the old grease is all wiped away). At same time, it replaces the old seal that can potentially leak air and blow the motor. Also, I wonder why they didn’t add a nipple to the MAG side? Is it because there’s only one bearing on mag side?
Thx for making this video.
Would this same theory also work for 2003 600ho/800 motors?
Yes
By doing that way the line won't come out right way one side will fill more, get a fishing machine to put line on, it will be faster
You can use what you'd like but this is how i spool all our reels always have always will i dint like a rushed job. Its tight the line dont dig in we high speed troll planers with these setups you couldn't possibly put anymore tension on them😅 if they where going to dig they would have & there wouldn't be a 65lb wahoo on my wall my friend. You do you, machine away my guy👍👍 ill keep stackin it on proper slow n steady👌
Such great videos wish you were still making videos!
Super good info. Thanks a lot
Fantastic video! Thanks for the detailed explanation
Thank you very much for that valuable teaching
Doing this can blow the inner seals, cant it? The middle red ones
No isoflex doesn't reach the inner bearings ever those 2 are oil bathed. Please watch the video you will see how there all seperate. Pto and mag sides get isoflex only. The inners get bathed in 2 stroke oil constantly. Hence why those rarely fail. Using more isoflex than is recommended can damage the inner seal for outer bearings by creating hydraulic pressure just dont overdue it theres clear amounts specified for each yr/model simply follow that & your good to go👍 also make sure your buying real isoflex from a (dealer only) Hope that helps clear things up👊
@@thegreatgreennorth9983 Great explanation about the outer bearings. The 2 center bearings aren't in an oil bath, they are lubed from the oil injection. Only the water pump/oil pump gear/bearings are in an oil bath. Check out a shop manual and you'll see that they spec to add 50ml of oil to that cavity when assembling the engine. Also if you look closer at the crank in the video, you can see where the red center seals are located. They're on the wrong side of the bearing if they're meant to keep the bearing in an oil bath.
@@jayfavel4447 ya im well aware i could have/should have explained that better or worded that differently for sure. Good clarification👍
Any pics of those after a few days trolling, some wahoo, tuna and makos? None of my used ones look that sweet!😁
Absolutely do go ck out my Instagram been in the keys for past 2 weeks been cleaning up. We only fish 2 wks a yr down south & those baits are brand new im not sure where you got used from.
