Hello PF: Like everyone else, I enjoy all trades with a profit. As you explore the channel and I hope you will - You will find that I use my stop-loss aggressively to reduce risk on the trades and in so doing, I'm often locking in some profits along the way. This is an inherentily risky type of trading. Even if you are good the W/L is about 60/40% over the long haul--- with some streaks of good and bad luck along the way. I enter every trade with a Bracket OCO order that includes a stop-loss order - and I rarely will back off my stop. I lose about 40% of those trades. I do not put these on the channel because these losses are actually pretty boring, I just get stopped out...and that's it. I take a manageable loss and then move on. I suggest one contract trades and use a trade simulator to practice your 'trade selection' (even if you have lots of experience). That's the key to it, then pick your trades like you live in the Alaskan Bush and only eat what you kill and...you get only 3 bullets a week😃 This is wicked risky stuff. But as you will see in my videos, you only have to be 'right' for a couple of minutes to have some fun. The mission of the channel here is to provide material to learn affordable day trading. Our recommendation is for those wishing to learn this type of trading to practice trade (trade simulation) to get familiar with this type of trading. Then when ready, to make live one-contract trades. I have a video that explains some recommendations for making larger trades as one progresses. My daughter-in-law a BIG OHIO fan- and she had the week off..... now to your question: You know all about buy LOW and sell HIGH - keep the difference is your profit. There is also what is call a short sell. This is when the trader sells HIGH and then buy the futures back at a LOWER price and keeps the difference as profit.. These Micro E-Minis first were listed for trading in May of 2019 by the CME (exchange.) They are the first index futures that were 1/10th size and have set volume trading and Open Interest records they are so popular (and they are scaled down 1/10th size futures contracts.

Greetings Michael. Here's a playlist of actual trades and the 'setup' (why this trade and why now?) is described in 99% of the trades. Since each trader is different with experience, acount size, risk tolerance, etc. there is no strickly mechanical setup or 'magic formula' that can apply to all traders at all times. Traders new to this type of trading often want to bring their trading experience in other types of trading to this kind of trading. That rarely works, these are highly leveraged, very short-term trades that are high risk. Glad it was helpful. Those often volatility/volume spikes at the opening - can diminish the effectiveness of stop-loss orders too. It's a bit like 'playing on the train track' at times. Traders should be sure they are well-versed on the two types of stop-loss orders: the stop-market and the stop-limit. The stop-LIMIT requires someone to have the other side of the trade. If that trader is not there; this type of stop can be run through without a fill. The stop-MARKET becomes a market order when its trigger price is hit, and it executes at the next available fill. It's a word ('handle') that I do not use. On the trading exchanges and 'the floor' it used to be called a 'handle' is the value of one point. in the NQ emini that is $20 per point. In the MNQ (the micro NASDAQ100 FUTURES), it is 1/10th of that or $2.00. It makes no sense to me and never has but that's it.😀

Got to this link that starts at 4:00 into the video. The total max risk was set by my OCO at the time I entered the trade at $18.50 and the display clearly marks it as 9.25 points X $2 per point = $18.50 here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/_RkQdHpd55Y/v-deo.html That $18.50 was the max risk at any time during the trade. The OCO bracket order entered that stop-maket stop-loss at the time the trade was entered. And you ask if "MNQ had a big chance to fake you out?" If you are asking if getting stop out is a possible outcome of the trade, the answer is 'yes.' That is inhernet in this type of trading and as I often say it isn't suitable for everyone. The purpose of the book is to provide a starting place and to point the trader in a direction to learn and practice more about them. Of course, I don't know you --- so the following comments are posted for a general audience: As you view the videos on the channel, you will notice that I never attempt to outline and publish a finite, mathematically complete 'system' that anyone should commit to memory and then to mechanically trade for easy profits. There are a great many people who market 'trading strategies' and who might lead people to some 'system' they can purchase --- as if it was some 'secret baking recipe' that would have traders avoid a long learning process that results in safety and easy money. I always recommend that "if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is." There are over 175 free videos with examples and actual trades that are detailed; the videos are all free. My books sales support the channel. As I say clearly and many times in my videos - this type of trading (stock equity index futures) is highly leveraged and risky - certainly not suitable for everyone. *There are two kinds of learning*. It is easy to understand why merely watching someone play a piano will not train us to do what the player does. If anyone told us they can just watch a piano player for 50 hours and then sit down and play it very well --- we might even think they are delusional - because we instinctively know it just isn’t true. A book and video on learning to play tennis is extrinsic learning. Actually getting on the court and practicing is intrinsic learning. If someone you didn’t know walked up to you on the street and told you, “I can show you how to turn $800 into $8000 in only 90 days. I recently created a video that discusses the idea of "learn to trade with one contract." When and if you gain some degree of mastery for this trading, then scale up to multiple contract trades. I would caution you, practice trade before you go live with real bucks. The "one contract trades" are much more likely to make a profit for $10 to $40..... than to make $50 to $200 per trade. I am often asked about setting goals and is it true you should "plan your work and then work your plan" ? Well that's a Hallmark card and not a slogan on how to risk your money for profits. To get back to your question: The rule of thumb is not to risk more than between 1 to 2% of your account on any one trade. Trade selection: Without this you have no chance of making any profits. And learning to use a stop-loss order to reduce risks during your trades. And having realistic expectations as you learn to reduce risks and learn the mechanics (the terms, you trading platform, learn about futures trading, how the margins work, the various types of orders in this trading, and then getting to practice all that BEFORE you risk your money. A great many people are learning 'futures trading' for the first time. It is highly leveraged: You can trade around $30,000 of stock replacement equity by putting up a relatively small amount of money (a few hundred dollars.) That's a lot of bang for the buck---- but it also means you have to learn to negotiate and evaluate the risk --- as you learn.
