We used to live in Hillsborough but moved away from the UK a few years ago. A couple of weeks ago I suddenly had the sudden urge to do nothing more than this drive, stopping at the Admiral Rodney for lunch and then parking up in HB by the church and walking out into the Peaks. Thanks for posting this!

The metal ring in the road surface down the Black Swan Walk was a turntable for turning around carriages at the bottom of the lane.

Remember walking through there when i was young.

I passed by the canal regularly in the early 1990s. I rented a studio close by. In 1995, I walked along the canal to Meadowhall; it was still undeveloped at that point.

Sheffielder's aren't daft! The reason no one goes down Black Swan Walk is because there's nowt down there AND IT'S A DEAD END!

I was the milkman for the Sheffield & Ecclesall Co - op on the Park Hill Flats from 1979 to 1988.I had an electric milk float that went along the balconies and used the service lifts to access each floor.I served the nursery school which was called Grace .......... I can't remember the second part of the name. Any one know ? The guy who served Bard Street used to bring me a second load of milk as my small float couldn't carry the full load from the dairy on Archer Road.

My school friends grandma lived on park hill flats,she moved there with her family when their house was demolished,so we knocked around there as 14/15 year olds in 61/62,always wished I lived there.

Which cities do you think are the safest?

In 1962 I worked at the co-op butcher shop in the precinct for about six months saw a couple of televisions and boxes come off the the landings, but most of the time I was too busy in the shop. Brought some good memories back of Sheffield in those days as I live now live in Southeast Asia ,good luck to you.

It was a bank the midlands bank.Wetherspoons was a kwiksave back in the nineties.I lived on tadcaster crescent but u didnt get that far

Interesting video. The Moor does seem better than it was (this latest version anyway), but the new buildings are weathering rapidly, so they'll look old in a couple of years. Not many people about to fill all the shops and coffee shops I notice. I no longer go into the City centre as there is nothing there for me. It's just easier for me to shop, eat and socialise locally.

When you look back to how dangerous those open walkways and staircases were seeing children that could climb over the balconies. I know I was one of them. Shame Park Hill couldn't have been renovated for the original tenants but that is what happens to poor people new slums created by lack of investment

Hi. Great video. Thanks. My brother used to lve on there. Also some friedns did too. Although there are people who do not like them. But there are people who do like them too. So can not please everybody. I have seen some photos of the flats inside since they were all done up. They look really nice inside now too from what I saw in the photos.

I'm sure the new works to renovate Fargate will make it lovely but it seems to be taking an eternity

I had family living on long Henry row across from the pub the Scottish queen my uncles local .

I did a tour around Park Hill. A few months ago, it was very interesting. We were also allowed to go inside one of the residents' flats. i remember the park hill flats before there was renovated.there went on the market for around 1 hundred thousand now you would after pay well over 2 hundred thousand its a very vibrant place to live and some lovely small and medium-sized enterprises thank you for sharing your walk and childhood upbringing best wishes

Wow look what it used to be like. Now it's a mess, rubbish everywhere, all shops shut. They were definitely the good old days

I can't see a reason why a person would want to go to two of these places.

All that work building it for only 27 years, it would have been easy to keep it and lock it up every night

Compared to only 10 years ago, the Moor is a VAST improvement! The shops, the cinema and restaurants, the bowling alley. People sayung it's worse have short memories.

It's impossible for things to be a bad as social media moaners make out!

All of these high-rise apartments are now biting the owners who can no longer pay the service charge. A failed concept with no solution but yet hundreds more planned.

how could you even begin to think abot demolishing something like this, I mean when the classic burned down in Fitzalan Square it was an accident my mam and aunties cried they worked there since the late 50s, but this place was demolished.. criminal

Peace Gardens, Crucible, hole in road, Pinstone Street, fargate, Hyde Park, absolutely everywhere looked better than today

Some really bad buskers and some really devoted preachers there, all with some real powerful audio equipment 📢

tou obviously know very little about sheffield none of these places are secret and many people use them

It will be a lot different once the old manpower and wickes sites are turned into apartments.

Sheffield has so many bars and restaurants but what about a shopping centre and please don't use the Meadowhell excuse. Top class video, as always.
