My dad used to take me, my brother and sister down here all the time when we were babies and kids. I have also been on many many times since growing up to my adulthood too. For which I have taken my kids down here too. Either walking or on our bikes.
I passed by the canal regularly in the early 1990s. I rented a studio close by. In 1995, I walked along the canal to Meadowhall; it was still undeveloped at that point.
