Ugh that you're having AC issues, and especially at the terrible timing! Not as hot as where you are, but been really up here in NW Missouri, too. Upper 90s for the next week or so, with heat indexes some days predicted to be around 115! That's really hot for here! My husband and I took a mini-vacation since Thurs. We're staying in a nice hotel in Kansas City, which is 30 miles or so from our house, to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary! Since our kids live far away, and we're not really party people, this sounded more fun to us than a reception or whatever. Been fun, but would have been more fun if not so hot. We decided to walk about 3 blocks to supper tonight, and coming home it was pretty miserable. I could barely breathe witb the crazy higb humidity. But we did a bunch of fun stuff since we came up here Thursday afternoon, and we'll go back home tomorrow afternoon, so definitely been a fun weekend for me. I'm so very sorry you can't go to Colorado next month, but glad you have some other fun things planned. So glad you have your mom's house to stay in until you get your AC fixed!

So, sell all your purses and put your sales money in one purse - lol😂

Sorry you are having an AC problem! We had that problem last summer, and you are right, it’s not cheap to fix. I sure hate it’s messed up your plans to go to Colorado for a few weeks. Time with the grands is always such a pleasure! It’s nice you have a long time friend to do things with. Any videos you post of your activities will be great, always nice to see the areas around the country and the activities people do there. Glad you have your moms house to go to with the hot house. Much easier to sleep in a cooler home. Will be interesting to see if the church men will notice the red blouses. Lol

Does look like a beautiful drive. I think I've seen some of the UA-cam Nomads go through Sedona, but don't think they've mentioned that church. That seems like the highlight to me! Thanks for taking us along!!

Well, the bread looked good. Sorry to read it's too dry. Maybe those soaked and freshly chopped dates would add more moisture. And I couldn't really judge, but you said pan wasn't quite a loaf pan. Was it more shallow and more spread out than a loaf pan would be? Maybe because it was more spread out that let it dry out more? And I guess if you make it again, you could shorten the time you bake it as well. I don't know, I'm just guessing here, not being much of a baker myself. Anyway the chocolate flavor alone would probably make it taste good to me! And that pan is very pretty!! 😊

114° and not even July yet! Good for you for doing so much activity this week! Chocolate Date bread sounds so good! I love those chopped dates in fruit salad. What a beautiful baking dish! Your bread came out the pan nicely. My 2nd recipe of pineapple mess was a crumbly mess.

Yes being quite a bit older than you, 74, I have lots of memories of the 5 and dime stores in my home town. My town was a medium sized city, so we had several. For quite awhile my allowance was a dime, then a quarter, so I could buy what I wanted pretty frequently at our stores. My kids definitely never had that luxury growing up in the '80s and '90s. Then $ stores were their go-to. I love that you buy books as gifts for kids. I do even for baby showers. Even if they have a registry, I always add a book in, too! I guess having been a teacher for 8 years, before staying home to raise my kids made me really aware of how important loving reading was to kids' success in school. So both my kids had plastic or cloth books in their cradles even from the time they came home from the hospital. And of course I read to them from early on, too. Neither of them ever cried at bedtime, and I like to think that's because they looked forward to looking at the book in their bed, once they could pick it up. And they both were early readers, and now at 35 and 43, they both still love to read! I'm sure your grandkids will, too! Loved all your Temu stuff, and can't wait to see it all in your yard! 😊

In your last video, you drove through Surprise and I knew that sounded familiar. Thought at first a college friend of mine might live there. But turned out her address is in Green Valley, AZ. But when I saw the church in this, it made me remember that a former minister of mine up here in Missouri is now living in Surprise! He preaches at a church called Sun City Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I've only seen pictures, but I think his building is probably a lot smaller than that one, but still of a similar design. Anyway, cool, I guess he and his wife live more or less in your area! 😊 Hope you won something!!

Your room looks great to me! Your new bed's so pretty and cozy looking!! Sorry I'm so slow seeing this. We left for a vacation on the 18th. Long story short first my husband then I came down with Covid. We couldn't come until last Monday due to when our flight was scheduled. And I'm still recuperating so not up to much, other than that. Tested positive a week ago, so still coughing and congested. But watching this made me feel a bit more cheerful! 😊

Always good to see a video from you, but especially with good news about Copper! Glad he accepted his own food at your mom's! Nice you have a fun trip to look forward to! I actually was in a book club once. But I think they work many different ways. Mine was a study group, that was sort of a side activity to the American Association of University Women branch, I belonged to at the time. The way we did it was take turns choosing books. Then we read a set amount each month and discussed it. But I know others do have someone write a report. We were all pretty busy, so just reading it was about all we had time for. The books varied. Some were old classics, others books that had just come out. Usually the person suggesting the book had read it already, but not always. This was years ago, so I don't remember now too many of the books we read. But one was the book "Handmaid's Tale" that the show was later based on. The book depressed me so much, I never made any attempt to watch the show! Seemed like it would have been even more difficult watching, than reading it. The other one I remember right off, was also a recently published, at the time one, entitled "Blue Highways", by a man named William Least Heat Moon. It was based on an actual trip he'd taken, following all the minor highways that are shown in blue on a road map. It was a fun read, and he told of his adventures in an interesting and humorous way. If you don't find a book group right off, that might be one you'd enjoy reading on your own. Have a safe trip!!

I’m so glad Copper is feeling better! I have never belonged to a book club. I have always loved to read but my focus is way worse now. I do read but not as much. I get bored but also have little energy. So i putter. Do a bit. Rest. Do a bit. Repeat. My dog makes me happier just being there.

Probably not the safest to be out driving, but I reckon since you posted this, you got home safely! What a really cool store, and huge! I'm a huge thrift store fan. I liked the oldies music they were playing, too. At first I thought, oh she should have covered that up.
