I’m so glad Copper is feeling better! I have never belonged to a book club. I have always loved to read but my focus is way worse now. I do read but not as much. I get bored but also have little energy. So i putter. Do a bit. Rest. Do a bit. Repeat. My dog makes me happier just being there.
That's pretty much how I spend my days too. I do a little bit and then my back will start to hurt so I'll rest a few hours and then do a little more. I'm still getting used to having all day to do whatever I want. Lol
Always good to see a video from you, but especially with good news about Copper! Glad he accepted his own food at your mom's! Nice you have a fun trip to look forward to! I actually was in a book club once. But I think they work many different ways. Mine was a study group, that was sort of a side activity to the American Association of University Women branch, I belonged to at the time. The way we did it was take turns choosing books. Then we read a set amount each month and discussed it. But I know others do have someone write a report. We were all pretty busy, so just reading it was about all we had time for. The books varied. Some were old classics, others books that had just come out. Usually the person suggesting the book had read it already, but not always. This was years ago, so I don't remember now too many of the books we read. But one was the book "Handmaid's Tale" that the show was later based on. The book depressed me so much, I never made any attempt to watch the show! Seemed like it would have been even more difficult watching, than reading it. The other one I remember right off, was also a recently published, at the time one, entitled "Blue Highways", by a man named William Least Heat Moon. It was based on an actual trip he'd taken, following all the minor highways that are shown in blue on a road map. It was a fun read, and he told of his adventures in an interesting and humorous way. If you don't find a book group right off, that might be one you'd enjoy reading on your own. Have a safe trip!!
