100%. It’s a great way to learn the rules and get a feel for Strider mode for sure. Try out the first adventure and tweak things to suit your style. The pregens are already adjusted to the a lower Target Number so no issues there.

Not a bad idea. Still takes into account the SOL limits but doesn’t force the players to “pick” ahead of time something that may not be of use during that adventure phase!

TOR is the reason for me delving back into it. I had the Mines of Moria set for years untouched, and then after TOR 2e, got back into it!

That makes sense, narrative wise especially. As long as the SOL rules are followed, can’t see there to be any harm in it that!

Definitely needs a little more fleshing out or at least provide some options for use if SOL. I get why they did it, but for a long campaign, would be nice to start to utilize all that “wealth” a little more! Thanks for the comment.

The three diamonds are for the amount of Success Dice (d6) to be rolled. The tick/mark right next to the skill, in this case travel means it's a favoured skill and you roll the two Feat die (d12) selecting the best result. Hope that clarifies!

Oh something will come up for sure for WOTC, etc. Just hoping that this type of "digital" level of offering opens that door a little for FL to get be able to share the TOR content on other digital platforms like Alchemy, Roll20, etc. This may very be a crack in the wall of the licensing restrictions...

Have been in a couple of campaigns using D&D Beyond and it's a great setup. Source material, character sheet and generator is seemless. Would be a huge bonus for TOR to have a similar setup, especially considering it's a unique ruleset, etc. One can only hope it happens in the future!

I hear you. It's a great program, use it for a Curse of Strahd game I'm in that we play off and on, but that being said, I'd rather spend my money on other games... and well at this points it's anything Free League and Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game!

You’re correct, definitely as flurry of quick engagements! When a new round begins, those in close combat can switch close combat stances, but if still engaged after the previous round, maintain so. Any who has killed their adversary, would have the choice of engaging in close combat again another adversary, or move to rearward. Keeping in mind engagement limits. For the Loremaster, they would decide on what to do with any adversaries standing back.

It would be very cool if the combat circle had been some influence! And the diagram looks so much better, just amazing artwork.

@@RyanoftheNorth I can only imagine that it was - it doesn't seem connected to Moria specifically. It seems rather coincidental for the team to have included it, almost as if they've been paying attention to the Discord for the past 6 months...

FL just added it to the DriveThruRPG under the Moria supplement, so if you have/buy the supplement, you'll get the link for it through DriveThruRPG. Not sure if they'll release separately!

Unfortunately there’s no QuickStart rules that you can get for free, unlike other games that offer that. Closet thing would be to go on Drivethrurpg and get the PDF’s but that’ll I think $20usd for the core book. They do have sales sometimes for 50% off that can make that cheaper!

They still can with a roll of a 10 or a Gandalf rune on the Feat Die. What they can't do, is spend the extra successes to get a lower number to a 10 on the Feat die!
