To be fair missed that one, and another. Gror has a total of 5d for armour, like the Balrog, and with hope left that he'd likely pass his protection test (baring any horrible rolls...)
@@RyanoftheNorth I think the Whip hits, with feat, even in the fourth round and in the same round another Eyes is shown in the Crush attack. Not for blaming, I'm just trying to figure it out if something is missing 'cause i'd like to play the balrog against some great heroes and learning is the first part!! :)
Check out this link for the Battle Companion! I have the spread showing the rolls (and the missed protection rolls :S) open.substack.com/pub/ryanofthenorth/p/gror-vs-durins-bane-battle-report?r=z22x6&showWelcomeOnShare=true
Was thinking the same. Obviously he’s a wizard but he loses his staff when he falls off the bridge. He however has Glamdring, which we don’t know what the blessings are on that. Presumably it’s an elvish bane weapon if the enemy, and probably like Durin’s Axe as in the Moria supplement has five blessings. So would be interesting to see what those could be. As him being a Wizard, not sure but obviously there’s some similar but opposite abilities like Durin’s Bane Fell abilities that cancel each other out. So I’m a since it’s hit endurance versus high endurance. Gandalf having the equivalent of the Denizen of the Dark ability, and it’s just a back and forth for 4 days through Moria until they both just die from the final blow and complete exhaustion!
I don't think there is anything in the rules that say a might 2+ creature has to yse every weapon. Balrog could use ancient sword three times and not have to resort to the crush attack with fewer dice. Happy to be wrong.
Correct, there was nothing stopping to using flaming sword the whole time. Just wanted to give it some flavour, would've been boring after the first couple rounds lol! Was a decision I made before the start of the fight that I'd use each per attack. Also the decision as suggested in the Strider Rules to basically spending the Hate liberally trying to smack Gror down or negating Gror's Hope spend with Dreadful Spell Fell Ability. Definitely may have been a shorter fight if he was just swinging the Flaming Sword three times a round lol!
This is seriously awesome!
Durin’s Bane? More like Endurance Bane
He does have a lot! 150 is a lot of hits it can take from Player-Heroes...
That spear throw was seriously awesome! Love this episode.
Awesome to see content for The One Ring. I love it. Great job.
Much appreciated! A few errors but it was a fun "what if?" scenario lol. Thanks for watching!
Get ready for r-r-rumble
where is the armor save against the wound by the eye/Whip on round three?

Epic!
A battle worthy of a song to last an age!
Ohhhhhh, great idea!
Greatest. Video. On. UA-cam. Ever. Well done, my friend. Wow.
Thank you lol! Was a treat to play out and make. Had fun with this one!
Bravo!
Gror Salutes you! Thanks for watching!
Loved this! Begs the question, what is Gandalf's stat block?? How did Gandalf do it?
