ohhh, this was good! Aespa has great music videos, especially the most recent ones (Drama, Supernova, Whiplash). Also, ENHYPEN have great "concept films" that they release before their comebacks that are related to their lore. I 100% recommend!

i promise you, you HAVE to look into Howling by XG, all japanese idols trained and based in korea, if you think armageddon was crazy then you HAVE to look into HOWLING by XG bc i believe the MV is 10x crazier, the music video is so insane that every time you blink, you miss like 5 scenes. Please I assure you that you wont regret looking into them. (XG MVs Honorable mentions: IYKYK, Girl Gvng, Puppet show, and Woke up).

not hating but although it’s really visually impressive, it doesn’t convey much storytelling, and a part of its weak storytelling is because what appears in the video doesn’t correlate much with what the song is about, therefore making the gangster setting to be very random and it’s too exaggerated in a “wannabe-ish” way. I can guarantee those rappers never lived that lifestyle (perhaps a huge L take by me but I don’t like the song either cause it’s quite shallow, weak storytelling, doesn’t have the best lyrics or rhyme scheme, it’s not underproduced but kinda uncreative and boring beats) Just my personal opinions pls don’t attack me :((

You should really react to DPR Ian. He's a cinematographer and also an musical artist. He makes his own music videos as well as videos for others and they are incredible! literally pick any song

Armageddon is in a category of its own but if you want something else that is fast paced and full of crazy cuts that aespa's whiplash is lit as well. Visually less overwhelming, but the cuts are giving real whiplash :D

This is one of if not the best kpop mv ever. The story, the concept , the looks. The way its fits into their actual lore is just amazing. I’ve never seen a group expand their lore so much. This song won so many best music video awards as it should

Their videos are masterclasses in storytelling. They are not travel videos. They are stories about people and travel is just the medium to get you to them. Notice that 80% or more of the footage is slowed down and includes people. I love the little sideways glances at people when they are not looking a the camera. And spot on about the kids being the main characters with the camera at their level. If you video big game in Africa while standing in the back of a safari truck they just look like zoo animals. But if you can lower the camera to the animals eye level (or even lower!!) then the majesty of their wildness is on full display. Same with people. :-) Cheers!

I would also recommend watching older K pop music videos so that you can compare the quality of music videos of kpop before and today. I would recommend you watch MAMA by EXO. They are a boyband that is in the same company as Aespa but they debuted on 2012. T

The Korean music video industry has not fully embraced green screen yet, especially big labels like baby monsters. So a lot of the sets you see here are probably practical.
