@@thecreatorscutIYKYK is actually the same director as Armageddon, Rima Yoon, she's one of the best in Korea right now. The other two, Woke Up and Howling, are by Cho Gi Seok who specializes in surreal portrait photography so if you want some insane cinematography that really subverts the standard MV approach, I highly recommend either one.
To be fair you started with the best music video of 2024 won awards for it in Korea (Armageddon) But BabyMon is still very high production , it just feels like with YG (their production company) there is more of a focus on creating these grandiose moments rather than focusing on a cohesive aesthetic/story. But to each their own, my rec would be Cosmic or Chill Kill, both by Red Velvet and both beautiful and eery and packed with wistfulness. Hope you enjoy!
The bar is set high for me, but I'm glad I'm getting all these recommendations. I;ll add yours to the list. Can't wait. And thank you for giving me some background
First timer? Welcome to Baby Monster. Watch Clik Clak the intro track and leads to Drip the title track for their latest Drip album. Both songs were dropped back to back 2 days apart.
More Aespa! their MVs are insane! there is also another group called XG, The production is SOO good! their latest comeback is called HOWLING and the MVs is just a masterpiece!
I see a lot of people recommending XG and that is 1000% valid, but I think it would be interesting for you to start for Tippy Toes and then move chronologically to Howling because you can see the growth in not only budget, but identity and storytelling through their videos and I think that kind of visible growth is underated. A couple videos I haven't seen recommended: Wings - Pixy Scream - Dreamcatcher (Edit: new viewer btw, loving the channel)
I would recommend BTS “Fake Love” or “Black Swan” because they are both super artistic and beautifully done without green screen. Fake love sets are insane all built for the video the only thing that was enhanced was a scene that involved fire (safety reasons) but there was still fire just not a dangerous amount. Black swan the setting is beautiful but the lighting and the editing is what stood out to me because it was so well done. The behind the scenes for both are amazing.
they don't use greenscreens. Everything is real, you should also react to Blackpink. They're in the same agency as Babymonster (YG Entertainment doesn't believe on green screens)
I totally recommend Stray Kids, especially S-class because of its editing! It won a VMA in 2023 :) I also recommended BOYNEXTDOOR, specifically Earth, Wind, & Fire
I saw someone say Cosmic by Red Velvet already but I definitely second that!! It is based on the movie midsommar and it is SO good! Another good music video is “Girls Never Die” and “Girls’ Capitalism by tripleS. They are both great music videos but very different. And if you end up checking them out, and to avoid confusion “Girls’ Capitalism” MV has 8 members and “Girls Never Die” has 24 they are both incredible music videos, “Girls Never Die” is very cinematic and “sad” while “Girls’ Capitalism” is upbeat and funny. Hopefully sometime you can check them out ❤❤❤
Loved your commentary! you have great energy 🫶🏻 I could imagine you enjoying XG , they have amazing videos overall with good music to top, Another group is Stray kids, (famously known for impressively edited Mvs.) Lastly I feel you may like some of Gidles Mvs, they tend to be very intentional with the overall production, theres always a message they want to communicate and it usually shows
You should most def react to blackpink some time, they so have so many songs you might even heard some, babymonster and blackpink are both in yg so they have some good songs considering they are one of the best kpop girl groups ever.
was just watching ur reaction to AESPA, so imma leave this comment here aswell Please check out DPR IAN, DPR is kinda a music/creative collective based in SK, they are all individual artists that just work together to create art DPR Ian (Christian Yu) is not only a music artist (creating all his own music) but also the lead director of DPR, and edites and directs all his own videos alongside the other members and other Kpop stars. His music videos kinda have a theme across them and a story that follows different fictional characters based on his mental health. But all his videos are truly art and will always recommend them to individuals who are apart of a visual creative space.
Aigh cool, but nahh... You know what dude, i'm just gonna say this in advance before you gonna do a proper deep dive into your these Kpop realm Beware of any downgrading/discrediting or even heavy misleading type of commentary from non-fans, fake fans, trolls or just straight up antis I'm not gonna drop any names yet, but trust me, aside the shining and cheerful side of Kpop industry, these community also sadly has always been known for its intense madness, especially when it comes to the cyber war of giving misconception against each other's throat So yeah man, just becareful to not quickly believe anything that being said in the comment section and hopefully these Kpop journey of yours would genuinely bring you a very joyful musical discovery 🤞
If you wanna start a reaction channel, I’d recommend switching to Blackpink next… biggest group in the world and it’ll draw subscribers to your channel Also, Blackpink are from the same production company as Babymonster (YG). YG focuses on quality over quantity… Babymonster was the first girl group YG released after it releases Blackpink 7 years earlier
Should I start another channel just doing deep dives into K-pop music videos?
